Grand Ole Creamery & Grand Pizzeria

I live in Oregon but am a Minnesotan most of my life and each time I go back this is a must. Used to live on St Clair, not too far from the Creamery They have the best of all Ice Creams in the country by my vote....A Minnesota treasure Try the pistachio if you haven't had it before. Wonderful Mary

A summer favorite. The Grand Ole Creamery offers a step back in time. It is very Norman Rockwell inside. We have stood in line to get our yummies, but it is well worth the wait. The flavors are abundant and you can have your own treat created. I highly recommend it.

I too, had heard a lot of hype about this place, so when I had a two-fer coupon, my husband and I tried it out. The ice cream was OK, but nothing that knocked my socks off. I had my favorite, mint chocolate chip (or whatever their name was for it), but the chocolate was a type that just became too brittle when it froze and you couldn't really taste it. It wasn't bad, but it didn't leave us wanting to go back. If it wasn't for the coupon, I would have thought it too expensive. Save your money and share a romantic pint from the grocery store while you drive around on a summer eve.

The Grand Ole Creamery is a famous ice cream parlor located on the well known Grand Ave. in St. Paul. If you are in the mood for the best ice cream in town you have to make a trip to this old fashioned ice cream parlor. Be prepared to wait in line, as the lines are often out the door. It is definitely worth the wait. This adventure is an indulgence that the whole family can take part in. They offer a wide variety from your traditional chocolate or vanilla to malts, shakes and banana splits.

Honestly, I wasn't very impressed with Grand Ole Creamery. It recieves a lot of hype from people I've talked to, so I expected a lot out of it. They have a somewhat narrow selection of flavors in my opinion, most of which didn't appeal to me(not that the buisness can be blamed for my taste). They do have tasty waffle cones. Their prices are similar to Cold Stone creamery if i remember correctly, and I didn't find them as enjoyable. On the plus side, they aren't a chain like Cold Stone.

The grand Ole Creamery has amazing ice cream. It is all made right there and they have so many different flavors. Try the Black Hills Gold! They also make their own waffle cones and put a little whopper in the bottom so no ice cream drips out. You will find long lines on summer evenings, but the wait is worth it!
