Love the Kitty Klinic. I have a rescue cat who was traumatized. They made her first visit and mine too wonderful. I also had not gotten in there in time for my 1st visit to be free but even though I have insurance they absorbed the cost. We are going back tomorrow and I am not as stressed knowing that she is in great hands. We have found our vet home.

He is the most knowledgeable, compassionate cat doctor I have met. When I adopted my kitty, she peed on stuff. He gave my tips to stop the peeing and they worked! He is a great resource for behavioral issues as well as medical ones.
His prices are reasonable too.

The Kitty Klinic is a wonderful place for cats. I've used them for years. Recently they saved my cat's life when he had a urinary tract blockage. I brought my cat in with no registerable temp and after a week, he was all better. Not only did they do everything they could, they allowed me to visit after work before they closed. Understanding the need for both me and my cat to see each other I am sure helped his recovery. Today my cat is back to normal and very happy. I know that anywhere else, my cat would have died.

Dr. Mike and staff are amazing!

AMAZING. I was looking for a new vet closer to my house and went here on a recommendation from a friend. I've never written an online review for anyone or anything else before but I had to write one for the Kitty Klinic. Dr. M. is so

I have been bringing my cats to the Kitty Klinic for about three years now. They have always treated myself and my cats well. I had one kitty pass away and they sent me a card and a plaque of remembrance for her. I just got a new kitten and I have brought him in once and they were very gentle with him. I will continue going to Kitty Klinic for as long as I have kitties. I highly suggest Kitty Klinic, the staff is friendly and the prices are reasonable.

I have been taking my cats to the Kitty Klinic for over 20 years. I have found the vet and the staff to be very compassionate and knowledgeable. I now live about 8 miles from there and still make the extra drive to bring them to this clinc. I like the fact that it is a cats only clinic.
Many years ago I took my cat there to be declawed and he talked me out of it and gave me alternative behaviorable ideas to keep my babies from scratching. Looking back, I really admire him for that.
Wonderful vet...Compassionate staff...

I love Dr. McMenomy and Kitty Klinic. My various cats have been under his care for over 40 years. I see my daughter, Tesla, has already posted her support and Dr. Mike has been part of her life ever since she can remember. He has been with us through thick and thin and it really hurts me when I see people say bad things about him. He loves cats and does his best for them even when he thinks we owners are wrong. The first cat we brought to him was our beloved Yepremian. We were young and did everything wrong - not fixed, roamed freely etc. Dr. Mike critisized (well even fussed at us) but never gave less than 100% dedication to caring for "Prem."
We are much better cat owners now and I recently brought my adoptee, Nitnoi, to Dr Mike. My new boy, Milo, will also be his patient. My Kumquat and Ivy were his well cared for patients for 18 and 19 years respectively!
I'm sorry that some had bad experiences. I have to wonder if it was just a misunderstanding. I brought my friend, Robert, and his cat, Smokey, to Dr Mike a number of years ago. Smokey had a life-threatening urinary condition and when Dr Mike explained that he could not guarantee Smokey's survival, Robert threatened violence. Everyone at Kitty Klinic understood that it was just an overreaction because of his love for Smokey. When Smokey pulled through and continued in perfect health, Robert apologised and has taken his cats to Kitty Klinic ever since.

I have been taking my kitties to Dr. McMenomy at Kitty Klinic for nearly 35 years. Dr. McMenomy and the wonderfully caring staff have not only been great with all my cats, but they have been there for me during both the happy times and the sad times - the adoption of a new cat or kitten, and the end of life issues when due to illness associated with advancing age or illness resulting in the untimely and heartbreaking decision to end the suffering of a very young kitty. Thanks to all of you -- you are the best!

I was a Last-Hope foundling. Dr. M saw a lot of my predecessor Henry Snow, and then me last year from November on.

Dr. M. held my person as she cried and cried at the loss of Henry to a swift heart attack as she brought him in for help. His office... sent a card and a memorial plaque for Henry.

The next week, I came in for a well-kitty visit. As a rescue, the first visit was free. He also treated me for a cold and only charged for the medicine. (My person was unemployed).
He saw me in December for a malady my person thought might be ringworm. I was losing ear hair but not itchy. He suggested a change in diet and supplied me with a sample of exotic cat food (duck, deer, wild turkey) "it's for the CAT!" He only charged for the office call. When I didn't get any better, he referred me to a specialist who could do a skin test for ringworm. That was expensive, but effective drug treatment kept the disease from spreading and kept ME from suffering. I got better fully in about 5 months--these things take time.
My person says she'd take me there for shots and care no matter. He's the best cat vet in the area.

These guys have taken care of Tanner Joe since he was a baby. Tanner actually doesn't mind too much going for check ups. The staff treats Tanner with love and care. Recommend these guys highly.

I have been taking my cats to Kitty Klinic since I moved to MN in 2004. I rescue cats and adopt older, "unadoptable" meows. Kitty Klinic has been the best. From a cat with irritable bowel to an 18 year old with cancer I have received caring, competent care for my kids. My latest is a rescue who does not like to visit the vet. Dr. Mike and his well trained staff manage to handle this "wild cat" to make sure she has the care she needs to be adoptable. Thanks Dr. Mike and Staff. You're the best!

I have been taking my kitties to this clinic for the past 20 years. Although this clinic is close to where I live, I would drive across town to have this veterinarian see my pets. He is a compassionate, knowledgeable vet. One who is willing to refer to the U vet school when this is in the best interests of the cat. It is not surprising to me that he has several vet techs who have been with him for the 20 years that I have been taking my cats there. He has followed my cats through diabetes, kidney and heart failure, and down that final road with me when I had to say good-bye to my beloved pets. I highly recommend this vet, his staff and his clinic.

I was new in town and had this clinic recommended to me. I went once and will not return. The woman behind the desk was insistent that I test each of my cats for FLV before I vaccinate them, even though they were indoor cats had not met another cat in over a year. (Another vet suggested one test for the both, if I wanted them to be tested, if they had not met another cat and shared a litter box; a much more reasonable and cheaper option!)

The vet that saw my cats waited about 3 seconds and decided it was best to lift the cat carrier upside down to pour my cat out of it. He didn't give me or my cat a chance to get her out of the carrier in a less stressful way.

I chose Kitty Klinic primarily because it was a cats-only facility, and I have never been disappointed. The vet and the vet assistants clearly love cats and have always been enthusiastic and compassionate. I love the fact that I can call them up with "stupid" questions and they are always helpful (and never make me feel stupid). When our youngest cat suddenly developed diarrhea (and there was a touch of blood in it!), they were able to squeeze her into the schedule.

Are they expensive? I do think some of their procedure prices may be a bit more than other clinics. However, since I feel that our cats get great care, I think it's totally worth it. I mean, if I want cheap, plastic crap, I'd shop at Wal-Mart. If I want nice stuff, I'll shop elsewhere.

I've been taking cats to Kitty Klinic for the last 30 years, and our experiences have been almost universally good.

They've provided routine care at reasonable prices, including providing both a preferred and a "budget" recommendation where applicable (e.g. senior cats should have an annual blood workup, but it's costly, so they'll explain options involving doing the bloodwork less frequently and watching carefully for other items of concern).

In addition, when one of my cats had a life-threatening illness and needed to stay in their care, they made it possible for me to visit him frequently and kept me updated with phone calls about his progress.

I would highly recommend Kitty Klinic to any cat lovers in the area.

I've been taking my cat to Kitty Klinic for the past year and a half. It's right in my neighborhood and the price is right...I've had no reason to take him anywhere else so far. He's had two annual exams and was neutered. The receptionist and vet assistants are all very nice and friendly. My cat has been seen by two different vets at the Klinic are they were both informative and helpful. A bonus is that this place is only for cats so it's not as stressful because there are no dogs or other animals around.

If my cat were diagnosed with a serious illness that were expensive to treat, I would probably get a second opinion with another vet--just like I would do with my own health. But overall I think this place is a really good place to take a cat for annual exams and minor health issues and their prices are reasonable.

My cat had a random open wound so I took him there-- I honestly had no idea how he got it... I have another cat and Weiner dog which were probably playing to rough, but the Vet seemed like I was a bad parent since I didn't know how he got it. (Kind of made me feel stupid) She just seemed like a grouch the whole time, but her assistant and receptionist were both really sweet.

I thought the prices were reasonable too- about $50 for the visit and about $15 for antibiotics and just a few bucks for a cone for his head (which was priceless to see on him). Bruce has healed and he is running around the house like it never even happened!!!

This place has good traits and bad, but in general, I would probably not take my cat there again.

Pros: Nice staff members and cozy facility. They knew what was wrong with my cat. The prices were lower than average.

Cons: They told me that my cat was going to die, and scared the crap out of me! In reality, he made a complete recovery and is somehow friendlier and more playful than even before he was sick!

My wife and I brought our cat into the clinic because he had lost an extreme amount of weight. It turned out that he actually had cat diabetes. The vets and the staff were extremely helpful in explaining what was wrong and what we as owners needed to do to treat our cat. The staff at the Clinic seem to really love cats and it shows in their treatment of our cat. I take my cat there regularly and would recommend this clinic to anyone who wants their cat treated with care.

dr. mcmenomy and the other doctor at the clinic are excellent. they really care about each cat's health and explain treatment options and health information in a detailed yet easy-to-understand manner. support staff and vet techs are excellent too. our first cat had cancer and dr. mcmenomy helped us to understand and locate treatment options and communicated well with the cat's other doctors. he has forged good connections with vets at the u of mn, which is helpful to clients whose cats require advanced care. everyone who works at kitty klinic is clearly a "cat person" and goodnaturedly jokes that cats are superior creatures. the sense of humor is a bonus.

When my cat became extremely ill with liver problems, the friendly folks at this clinic made every effort to save my cat. At the time I was a college student and unable to afford treatment at the university hospital and the Kitty Klinic worked hard to do everything in their power to help my cat. They knew my name and my cat, they called me at home to check in and offer advice, they offered me alternatives to help me save on cost. They were able to squeeze me into their busy schedule without a prior appointment. And most importantly, they saved my cat. He made a complete recovery. I have taken my cats to this clinic for 8 years and have always had very positive experiences there.

We brought our cat here for over 2 years. For the majority of the time our cat was perfectly healthy. One day, for no apparent reason, the vet suggested we have an AIDS test done. $159.00 dollars later we found out the cat did not have AIDS.

Then on the next appointment, the vet was convinced the cat had a kidney problem so we had a kidney test done. The test came back positive for a kidney related issue. We were told we now had to buy special food that, guess what, only they and other vets sell.

Oh and they also told us that the cat had 6-8 months to live, maybe longer with certain treatments. So we switched the food. Our cat only got worse from then on. He was throwing up at least twice a week and had diarhhea for the past 6 months. We thought about having him put to sleep and came this close to making the appointment.

As a last resort we brought him to another clinic for a second opinion. We were sure that they would say the same thing as the Kitty Klinic. But, on the contrary, all of our pet's tests came back negative. They said he was a perfectly healthy cat. And after we switched his food he has not had any problems.

I had just moved into the neighborhood when my cat collapsed - it turns out he has a few age related issues - but the staff acted quickly, contacted the emergency vet for me and then has handled all of his on going care - including doing the homework to find the best price on my cats meds.

They are great - the only down side is the fact that they are such a small clinic they have limited hours which take a little work on my side to fit my schedule.

I was just searching for the Kitty Clinic's phone and this was the first listing that came up. I saw only two reviews so had to add one myself...

I had a FeLuke+ cat in my care (Clark) who was originally being cared for by the Animal Medical Clinic on Hennepin (AMC -- do not trust that clinic!). The moment his leukemia started to turn for the worse, they wanted nothing to do with him.

Contrast this to the Kitty Clinic, where I took him next. They made EVERY effort to squeeze him into his busy schedule on effectively an emergency basis on the day before Thanksgiving, even though he was a new and "challenging" patient. They provided lots of advice and helped me give my cat the best care humanly possible and within my budget (I couldn't afford to take him to the U of M for experimental treatments). Unfortunately Clark didn't make it, but the staff at the Kitty Clinic was very supportive -- and very clearly affected by the tragedy that befell me, even though they only had known Clark and I for a few weeks before he passed.

So long as I live in Minneapolis, the Kitty Clinic will be my vet of choice.

PROS: Cat specialists, extremely caring for both animals and owners
CONS: Small facility and deserved popularity translates to some waiting

CONS: Small facility and deserved popularity translates to some waiting

.

I was quite impressed with this clinic. The staff were very thorough, professional, and obvious cat lovers. Since it is a smaller clinic, they seem to schedule appointments so that your pet doesn't have to deal with lots of other cats. I thought it was also a nice touch that they have cat books, cat decorations, etc. throughout the office. Very gentle vet, reasonable prices.
