My wife and I go out to eat fairly often and decided on Sushi Tango because we had been there a few weeks ago and loved it. Instead of sitting at the bar, which we did last time, we put our names in for a table and were seated within 5 minutes.
That's when things began to go downhill. Our server took well over 10 minutes to come over and introduce herself - it was not overly crowded at all. Several times she walked by without even aknowledging us. After taking our drink order, it took her another 15 minutes before she brought them over. Our appetizer took over 15 minutes as did our sushi - which did not taste fresh and was doused in a thick sauce.
My wife and I never complain about poor service and are always generous tippers no matter what, but this pushed us over the edge. We asked for the manager and she apologized profusely and gave us a 20% off coupon.
What we wanted was an intimate dinner with great service. We planned to spend a good amount of money for a long, satisfying dinner but were left vastly dissapointed.

Pros: bartenders

Cons: service, food

This place needs to learn a lesson and take its customers serriously. especially when a repeat customer or regular complains about the poor/criminal service they receicve. the bad publicity or lost business definately cost more than paying a customer back for the money that was stolen.

Sushi Tango screwed up our bill and ran extra charges on my cc. I went to restaurant the following day to speak with management and he refused to accommodate their mistake which was an extra charge of $119 on top of our $219 bill, but that??s ok, it says a lot about how they treat their loyal Happy Hour customers. Even a gift certificate would have deemed grateful, but that was never offered. I been a loyal customer for many years and this has been the first incident and also my last there, the group of people with me that night are also avoiding the place?.. on a better note, great services are always available at ChaingMaiThai and FujiYa for happy hours?. Cheers. - GOGz

We stop in at Tango in uptown every time we are in town and have never had a bad experience. We love the new store and have a great time with the chefs and staff. We've had sushi across the country and this compares with any of the better restaurants we have encountered. We really appreciate not having to order off the menu and just let the chefs create items for us. Thank You Tango and we will be back. Plus, we will pass the word on about your great food and hospitality

I have been going to Sushi Tango for some time now. All those times that I've gone there it has been with a party of 4 or more people. I went there for the first time with just me and my husband. I cannot believe the kind a of service I got there. The skinny little boy/girl hostess sat us down, gave us our water, and then left us there. We sat there for about 20 min waiting for some service. It was obvious that I was going to get the service i wanted unless i asked some for it. On top of having to ask for the service. I had to sit another 5 min watching the dumb waitress/waiters argue on who is going to wait on our table. Of course by the time we got a waiter we didn't even want to dine there anymore. So we just left. I would never go there again.

Well, I think Christian F., while he may hate yuppies (or us monied brats who have trust funds) has an excellent vocabulary and hits it right on the money. I find their prices inexpensive compared to other locales: Kikugawa, Origama, etc., the service stinks, they are pompous, arrogant and can't keep their nori attached to itself... what can't they finger some water onto the nori to make it stick?

I've been eating sushi since I was 17 and went to Japan. This is unacceptable. Not to mention the bull dyke manager who called me a b*tch. Given that my own mother is gay, I really have no problem with linebacker lesbians, my mom is life partners with one, but I will NOT tolerate some other lesbian calling me a b*tch, I did learn from a dyke myself.

Never going back. EVER.

My wife and I have dined there several times. Their major redeeming quality is that they have open tables during times that Figlios has a wait. Our service last visit was so bad that we won't be going back. When we complained to the manager she made us feel like we were the problem. It was completely unacceptable and frankly insulting. Stay away.

We have had sushi all over the country from San Diego to Minneapolis and some have been good, some terrible, some very over priced. We wandered into Sushi Tango on impulse and were impressed immedietly with our server who turned us in the right direction every time as we navigated their menu. The sushi was outstanding and the only thing we found overpriced were the drinks and even they were well made and worth the money. We ended up returning less than a week later and the experience was just as fantastic. We will be coming back everytime we end up in the twin cities.

PROS: It is all good...
CONS: The chairs were oddly uncomfortable

The sushi is okay--pretty average--and not worth the high prices. The wait-staff and service is so-so... our waitress was rather brisk and, considering that the resturant wasn't very busy, we should have gotten more attention than we did. The decor/atmosphere is nothing special. I wont be back.

I went to Sushi Tango for dinner last Friday night. I had never been there before and overall, I was please. The reservation process went smoothly and the inside decor is very inviting. The food was affordable and it was pretty good! Not the best sushi around, but all things considered, they offered a great variety and it was good. I'd go again.

This place has delicious sushi. The price is high but I feel it is worth it. Service was great. We were brought menus right away and served water. It took a little time for our order to arrive but we had a huge party. Here's a tip....go on days where there is happy hour and the prices on some of the sushi is lowered.

Haivng had this place recommended to me by trustworthy friends of good judgment, I looked forward to trying out dinner here and brought my girlfriend. Immediately we were made to understand we were not welcome here, by staff and patronage alike. I guess a restaurant can't be held responsible for the behavior of its clientele, but we got a lot of ugly looks from a large table of yuppies we had to walk by. That said, the waitress neglected us a long time before begrudingly supplying us our menus and two filthy glasses of water; her tone with us was curt and impatient. At this point I was feeling pretty dismal about the whole thing, and then I saw the prices. I know sushi's expensive, I've had it many times in many places, but holy crap, this place was a little proud. Fortunately, our waitress' lack of interest afforded us plenty of time to change our minds and leave before ordering - not having eaten there, I have no opinion on the food.

PROS: Great location, high overhead.
CONS: Symptom of yuppification.
