Game Day, playoffs, this used to be THE place to get a good beer and a fair meal. Bartender worked his butt off, the ONE waitress walked around with her head up her rear end, never tried never hustled. I saw 8 tables leave because they couldnt get waited on. HINT: A quick word to them and they prob would have waited for you. We dropped $150 for too expensive beer and food that tasted like a heat lamp. Whoever is running that place has gotten complacent and I seriously doubt we'll be back anytime soon. Better work harder boys!

Here is my great day off. My husband and I go to Williams, grab a city pages or w/e, walk downstairs, sit at the bar with a pitcher of beer and tons of peanuts and just relax. The bartender downstairs is always nice and friendly and smart enough to leave me enjoy my beer and the paper on a bad day. Great for chattin and just being able to relax with good friends and more beer than you can imagine. I have found the wait staff to be just ok, I really have had much much better service when I have actually sat at the bar. If you choose to go to Williams please just relax and have a good time.

William's is a typical college esque bars (e.g. not a place for a first date!). However, it's not a bad place to sit outside and enjoy a good beer admist the pretentious Uptown atmosphere.

We stumbled upon this place b/c we weren't in the mood for the meat market scene (e.g. Stellas, Bar Abilene, et al). It was a breezy, warm summer afternoon and a micro brew while sitting outside sounded great.

The beer was a bit on the expensive side but it is Uptown after all. Don't make the same mistake we did and be ignorant to the fact there are over 100 beers on tap in the basement. Yeah, I found this out a few days after our adventure to William's.

Considering my boyfriend spent all of Valentine's Day puking thanks to a burger he ate at this fine establishment the night before, I would definitely not recommend William's. Our complete ditz of a server also spilled a beer on the lap of another person with us and broke the glass which cut her finger. Was her meal or even that beer free? Absolutely not. What I do recommend is that William's cleans up their act before the Health Dept. comes calling.

I went to Williams to get a few beers and have some food. The beer menu is huge, full of micro-brews. They have the list sorted into where the beer is brewed, which I don't find very helpful. I would have rather seen it broken down into categories of beer so you know what to order. I ended up with a beer that was expired, which tasted awful. A friend and I shared nachos, and I thought they were really good. Not overprocessed like some bar food can be. I thought our server did not do a very good job - we had to wait a while between rounds and to get our check. She just wasn't very helpful or nice. Still, williams is a great place to chill out with lots of beer!!

Williams is always a total sausage fest (hint hint single ladies!). Why? Because they have every beer imaginable up to order and bartenders are quick with them. Because there is no cover to get in. Because it's no frill and the basement bar reminds them of college keg parties, only with the added bonus of peanut shells all over the floor. And because they can play games in the pool room and have audible conversations with their friends. Check it out ladies--and make note that if you aren't a beer drinker, they are prefectly capable of making you a girly shot like a washington apple too!

Williams is a really nice, casual, peanut-shells-on-the-floor kind of place to grab a drink and hang out with friends. Their margaritas are a bit on the salty side, but the ambiance is really nice...just get there a little early to stake out a table and a dart board!

OK, here is the real deal from someone who's spent plenty of time there. William's is a bar!

The food is OK, about average for bar food... BUT, the buffalo wings are the best in town, hands down, and you can't beat the wing special on Monday nights. Thursday nights are usually packed, with great drink specials until 11PM, and plenty of eye candy (have fun fighting the 22 years olds off as you try to get a drink). Other than that, they do have a great beer selection, it IS a bit expensive if you stray from the specials, and entertainment options are plentiful. They have pool, darts, Golden Tee, foosball, NTN Trivia, and video games.

This is not a trendy place nor does it try to be. It is a good bar and can be a good time if you're with the right crowd. Expect too much, and you'll probably be disappointed.

Williams Uptown Pub & Peanut Bar is not a place that I would reccomend. While they have an extensive selection of beers to choose from and plenty of bar activities (pool, darts, ect.) to keep you busy the prices make it a no go in my opinion. Unless your wallet is very full and you enjoy paying a lot for your drinks there are a lot of other establishments more worthy of your visit.

Monday nights has great wings for cheap. Buy a pitcher of beer for regular price which was only like $7.50 for Miller Lite which I think is cheap for the area, and get a pitcher of wings for $5. Great deal and awesome wings!! Waitress was friendly and had everything to us fast.

The Bar is so/so. On the plus side, they've got a huge beer selection. On the minus side, drinks are overpriced, the service is abysmal, and the food is horrible. On more than one occasion we've found some of the less popular beers to taste spoiled, and on almost every occasion we've found that we're completely ignored by the bartenders. We used to frequent this place, but have since found other establishments. I wouldn't recommend it even though I've had a great time there on some of my visits.

The service & food are average, but the beer selection and atmosphere can't be beat in uptown. If you had a bad experience, go downstairs. You'll find an easy-going & casual atmosphere with a limitless supply of peanuts & a great beer selection.

Williams is a nice place to hang with friends, if you arrive early enough to get a table. I recommend outdoor seating to avoid the crowded, way-too-noisy bar. Most of the time, the service is slow, but friendly, although there was one instance where the waitress actually made fun of a member of my group. Other than that, Williams is nice, the beer choices are superb, the liters are fun, but the food is just mediocre. The appetizers are not bad, if you've been drinking...and are really hungry.

I think that I am clear from the amazing number of negative reviews that this place cannot handle crowds (a common problem). When I was there however, it was a Sunday night and there were very few people. The servers were courteous and I have to say this place has the best selection of tap beers I have ever seen, I estimate 50. The price I paid for mine and my wife's was reasonable (we each had the large mug, which is huge amount of beer). We did not try the food and we were downstairs. By the way, no one carded anyone in our crowd (possibly because most of us were foreigners) and there were no bouncers. Again, I suspect this is one of those split-personality places whose evil twin comes out on Friday and Saturday nights.

If you go on Thursday, come early for a table downstairs and let the meat from Edina roll in. And if you are a dude from Eden Prairie, make sure to wear your ribbed sweater. Regardless, the finest women of Mpls are usually in attendance.

The drinks are cheap from 9-11 (tues and thurs) and you may get the occasional good waitress (more are good than bad). Watch out for the automatic gratuity because sometimes your waitress won't tell you.

I have been to Williams several times over the past couple years, mostly just to hang out and have a few drinks. There is always a pretty long wait @ the bar, and very rarely can you find a place to sit... but I've always had a really good time, regardless. Then I went there to eat for the first time. It was 9:30 on a Saturday (not many people there), and we waited 20 mins to even get GREETED by the server. She proceeded to be extremely rude, and rung our order up wrong.

Five of my friends and I, arrived at Williams pub. We decided to go into the pool area, and order our beers. First off it took thirty minutes for the waitress to take our order. She brought the wrong type of beer, (light, ugh) and charged us anyway after I had ask her to take it back. Then at the same time we also ordered the dollar bugers, which were good. She had brought eight when we only ordered three.
Then, here's the good part. The waitress decided to overcharge on our bill. Maybe she added an extra hundered-and-fifty percent for her tip? Who knows, we settled the bill anyways, but vowed never to go back.

Five of my friends and I, arrived at Williams pub. We decided to go into the pool area, and order our beers. First off it took thirty minutes for the waitress to take our order. Pros: good dollar burgers

Cons: overcharged, too expensive, really bad service

Recently, I went to Williams with friends. I was questioned on having a fake ID because the bouncer on a power trip decided my ID didn't look like me and that my signature didn't match the license. They gave me a hard time on this. I am 25 and have never had this problem at any other bar. The picture is a couple years old but still me. When I argued that it was obviously me, the bouncer told me to leave and never come back - as if I had caused problems. I won't be going back there because there is nothing special about this mediocre bar anyway. Maybe they should be a little more selective in the hiring of bouncers next time. Because of this incident, my friends who frequented the place have blacklisted Williams because they were so rude to me for no reason at all.

Williams is the WORST BAR IN THE WORLD ON THURSDAY NIGHTS!!! If you like to wait in line for 25 minutes to get a drink (make that 35 if you're a guy) or get bumped into and spilled on every 30 seconds then you should go. Otherwise, go to a real bar. This place is the most over-crowded, over-priced, over-hyped scene in the Twin Cities. With all the bars in Uptown/Downtown, why would anyone go to this hell-hole???

Cons: Over-crowded, Expensive, Worst service ever

If you aren't 24 or younger, forget about trying to meet anyone at this bar. Good place to hangout with your friends and girl/guy watch but if you are not wearing the latest faddish clothes like Abercrombie and Hilfiger and not as trim as Ricky Martin, forget about glueing a girl! Very faddish crowd, all about money, glamour and materials. Bar is a bar, nothing too fancy about the place. Decent service with menu full of typical deep-fried bar foods. Young college type crowd trying to impress (not that it's a bad thing, but not something for older people who want to hang out and kick back).

This place shouldn't be called a bar, they pour shaddy drinks with measured shot glasses. Expensive too! I think it's around 17.50 for two captain cokes, or should I say cokes.

I like a good beer just as much as the next person but you shouldn't have to put down more than a $20 bill to get two large beers. It's expensive even for a pint. I had a pint of Sierra Nevada the other night for $6.25. Come on, let's be reasonable here. The peanut bar downstairs is a nice feature and it's fun to go to a bar with an array of pool tables but please lower your beer prices!
