I would not recommend ordering a wedding dress from Mary Kay, because it was very difficult and stressful for me to get my dress from them. To their credit, I did have a great in-store experience. They do have a lot of beautiful dresses in

I would highly recommend Mary Kay's Bridal! The clean store, friendly employees with high energy, stress free environment and " one stop shop" feel all added to my incredible experience. Everytime I was in the store whether it was for fittings, accessories, tuxes or bridesmaids dress shopping I personally witnessed Mary Kay herself as well as employees going above and beyond for brides making sure their wedding visions came true.
As I was planning my wedding I personally got to know each employee ( they even learned my name and wedding date by heart).
I wouldn't want anyone i know to go anywhere but Mary Kay's Bridal. Each employee knows exactly how to make your wedding vision come to life. I have worked in sales my entire life and this store is a breath of fresh air as they are not fixated soley on making a sale out of a bride like myself.
Thank you!

I found my dress at Mary Kay in June of last year almost a year ago and they said the dress would be in around Nov/Early December. I figured this would be fine because my wedding was not until the end of April. We also rented our tuxes

I have to admit...I was nervous going to Mary Kay Bridal based on some of the reviews I read. However, they had the dress I had fallen in love with online, and I decided to give it a go.

I am so thankful that I went to Mary Kay Bridal.

I am the bride in the review that Renie09 made and would like to get the facts straight since Renie09 seems to have a lot to say for a person who has never been in Mary Kays store. First off I picked the place because it is a warm

i started looking at dresses in march for my august wedding we knew it was a short notice so we wanted to find something and alter it. I walked into the shop with my mom and was greeted immediately looked around tried a few dresses on and left i went to davids bridal and was not impressed i wanted to go back to mary kay and let them actually do their job. when we went back Ashley greeted me and helped me with such urgency she wasnt pressing me for anything. I found the dress i wanted and described to her HORRIBLE didnt work for my petite short body she suggested another PERFECTION!!!! it was beautiful well 1 month later i found out i was pregnant omg i was not excited about buying a new dress. They are now currently working with me to make my dress perfect for my big day they have been nothing but wonderful to me and they are bending over backwards for me mary kay is even ensureing she is there so it is perfect!!

My daughter was MOH in this wedding. Why or how the bride picked the place I will never know. Where do I start. First the MOB picked out her dress but later found out they could not order the color she wanted (black) due to some lame reason with the fabric of the jacket. So she took the store sample which was Navy and a size or two to small. The alterations were made and the price was excessive. It was priced way to high for the dress that it was. The bridesmaids ordered their dresses and of course they came in very early. My daughter ordered her dress one size bigger than needed only because she knows it is easier to take the dress in than let it out if there is not enough fabric. I am a seamstress by trade so she and I both know how to order. They also ordered capes to go with the dresses. One bridesmaid ended up pregnant and had to have a panel and corset lace up added to the back. What a disaster. They charged her more than what she paid for the dress and the fit was ridiculous and horrible. We only found this out at the wedding when the girls were putting on their dresses. Apparently there was on final fitting for anyone. They had shortened the straps on the dress not in the back but in the front (looked tacky) and raised the curve of the bust over her chest. Yep, you can just imagine. All of the girls had to have extensive alterations to the bust area only because it puckered, stuck out and gapped. They basically had to be ripped apart, have the boning removed and remade. I did my daughters and hers looked okay. Did I mention she ordered a size too big? Her dress was too small and she had even lost weight. It appreared the dress had already been altered as there was no fabric to let out the seems. The girls ended up doing musical dresses to get the closesest fit possible. The jackets were not ready until the day of the wedding and the construction was poor at best. The seams rolled and they did not lay well. None of the dresses had been pressed and still had all of the fold lines on them. Of course, I knew better and fit and pressed my daughters the night before. Then the brides dress, MOB and MOG dress were picked up on the day of the wedding and brought to the church along with the capes. They were not pressed either. We only had a steamer and did our best. The brides dress was missing the top hook on a strapless dress.....can you believe it... The following week after the wedding there was a call from the bridal shoppe asking if anyone wanted to sell back their capes as another wedding party wanted the same capes and they didn't have enough of them. (They made the capes themselves and didn't want to do more sewing). I felt sorry for that next bride. They originally ordered the tuxes there too and was later told they could not get the ones they wanted and were persuaded to order something else. Luckily the tuxes were ordered from another place and they worked out well. PLEASE save your self the headache, heartache and dissapointment and go somewhere else. I don't know how this place stays in business. It sure isn't by word of mouth...

Found and loved my dress that I found in the shop. The employess were nice and helped but the owner was very werid. I came in one day to try on the dress and talked with the talior and loved her opions amd options on what we were going to do witht the dress, but couldn't remember her name when I returned. The next day I was explaining the sales lady what the taloir looked like bc their was 3 taliors. The owner comes over and starts to talk to me and tells me that she remembered me and that we agreeed on something else. I told her no and that I never met her. She cont to push me tell me what I agreed on with the talior was not right.
Then when paying for the dress the sales lady told me that if I come back with my brides maids that they all get 10% off. I brought my ladies back and the dresses were WAY to expensive. Then the owner again comes to help us and tells me like she was giving me a deal "we normally give 10% off with 4 brides maids or more but we can apply the disscount to your party(bc i had 3)". I told her, I was told to bring my brides maids in and never was told how many would it apply too. Then told her off again and we left to davids bridal and spent 3/4th of what we would have at Mary Kay. And love my maids dresses.
Wedding is in July and not looking forward to going back and working with the shop again in my alterations. Hope that she is gone for the day.

I bought my wedding dress here. The staff was wonderful - really helpful and honest. I felt like their prices were reasonable too!

I have to say I'm not impressed! I am a bridesmaid to a friend who picked out a dress and told all of us to go get fitted - I got fitted and Bes, the girl who measured me said "If you're dress should have to get altered, it will be $30-40". Ok I can handle that. So when my dress came in and my alterations included taking in the breasts and hemming the dress, the cost was $96! Totally threw me off.
And the ladies that work there were really fake, telling me how wonderful I looked in the dress even though it looked like a potato sack! I knew right then they were a bunch of flakes. I won't ever go back. Lack of telling customers of money details causes stress and the last thing that people in weddings need is stress.

I went to this store because they were where my friend and sister both got their gowns. So I thought I would give them a shot. The first time I called to see if I needed an appointment, I spoke with Mary Kay herself. I was polite and got the answer I needed, before hanging up she asked when my wedding was. I told her the end of September, and she flipped out. That's really close, you should have ordered your dress WAY before now. Um, it's over 9 months away. When I was in the store they told me it wasn't a problem so why was she freaking out? I ended up calling again for some clarification on a few things, and got Mary Kay again, she asked me again when my wedding was, and I told her, and I got the same response- flipping out. Then she put me on hold to go get my file, and someone else picked up and helped me.

They don't take appointments except on Sundays for a charge of $25.00. So show up early otherwise you'll wait! They "don't allow" pictures to be taken unless the dress has been purchased. Some of the staff allow pictures, some don't.

I was able to find a few dresses I liked, the price tag said $875 dollars. No one ever mentioned a hollow to hem measurement until the 2nd time I was there to make my final decision. One gal told me it was 10% of the dress, okay I can deal with that. On the phone later that day another woman told me it was $150 for the hollow to hem measurement! There's a big difference there. When I asked what the reason it was for no one would explain what it was, and why that measurement was needed. I had to call back 3 times, finally I spoke with Ashley the owners daughter who was very nice and explained everything.

I still won't order my dress here, from the horror stories I've heard from others. Their store is a little dirty and it seemed like people were just hanging out on the couches watching other women try on dresses. Including some men. The store needs a little bit of a makeover, even some slip covers for the chairs and couches would be nice, because the dirt on them is obvious. And Mary Kay needs to retire and pass the store on to Ashley, she is the only one who really knows what she is doing there and treats people nicely!

I recently visited Mary Kay's and was highly disappointed. We did find nice bridesmaids' dresses at reasonable prices. However, I was treated quite poorly by one particular member of the sales staff. I am a fairly petite woman (size 2-4 street clothes). My measurements and body parts were discussed loudly and in disparaging terms at the counter and fitting area. I am very surprised at the lack of tact. I cannot understand why women would want to support a business that critiques a slender woman for not being model thin. I will definitely tell everyone I know not to shop there.

I'm not sure why this place has such bad reviews. I worked with Asia and Ashley who were both awesome. If people thought Ashley was snotty, she was either having a bad day or they were just intimidated by the fact that she is goooooooorgeous. Anyway -- they were really helpful but weren't too in your face. They allow you to have your family help dress you instead of being all up in your naked self. I'm a size 16 so I appreciated that they didn't make me feel like a lardo when I was trying on the dresses there. I ordered a Demetrios gown and they were very clear that these dresses can take a long time, and even called me after the dress was ordered to tell me when my ship date was. They are very knowledgeable. I did a sunday showing which was great. You don't have to hang out in front of other brides and they offer you coffee/tea etc while you browse and champagne/oj/mimosas if you find a dress. You get 10% off everything you buy during a Sunday showing (anything in the store). I'll repost after I actually get my dress (I ordered it this weekend and am supposed to have a ship date of late April), but I anticipate continuing to be very happy with Mary's Bridal.

Pros: Friendly staff, Sunday showings

Cons: I live no where near here! :)

This place is great, despite what so many people seem to post here. I have had nothing but excellent service every time I have gone in, and a great attitude from all their staff. I worked with Ashley initially when I picked out my dress, who was WONDERFUL! She was so sweet and genuinely excited for me. I had to go just with my mom to look at dresses bc none of my friends could come, and she even did up my hair a little so we could see the general idea of how that would look with the dresses. She was SO sweet and helpful and patient. NEVER did I feel rushed or pressured. I made an appointment to go in on a sunday for a private showing, which was so great. We even got to have some champagne and a toast once I found my dress! Their selection was excellent. I will recommend them again and again to anyone. I think people are eager to throw out their two cents when they are unhappy. Misery loves company. I hope most people will just go check out the shop for themselves. I really loved it and found it to be one of the best places in the Twin Cities that I had gone to, and I went to a lot of places! Check them out!

Mary Kay's daughter Ashley is the one that helped me. She was really nice..in fact the only nice one in the whole store. She made me feel so special and helped me feel that it was my special day. She was so excited for me while trying on the dresses and found the perfect one. Unfortunately it was way out of my budget but she of course talked me into it. So I bought this $1,300 dress. Still makes me sick knowing that I spent so much money. However I was told that the dress would be in Middle to Late June. The dress finally arrived LAST WEEK. My wedding is next weekend. Not only that but I paid the extra 150 to measure hollow to hem. Ashley told me that this dress is not the type that you want to get altered later and encouraged me to pay the 150 to get the length right the first time. The dress has a lace overlay and she explained that it would never look the same if we had to alter it. WELL... when I finally got to try my dress on it was at least 3 inches too long! They measured and inch an half shoe and it was far to long even when I tried a 3 inch heel.. Why did I pay the extra 150 if they didn't get it right the first time?! Well they altered it and I tried it on again and it looked fine from what I could tell but it still wasn't done she just pinned it and it needed to be altered more.. I finally picked it up today and they handed it to me in a garbage bag...Not the bag it came in but a long plastic bag. They told me they keep the nice zip up bags for storage at the store. In the end i paid 1400 for the dress and I had to take it out in a garbage bag.. Pathetic! I encourage you to not go there. They give you the run around. As soon as you hand over your money they no longer care about you.

For my friends wedding we got our dresses from here. We all got measured and ordered the dresses in November. The second week of May is when we FINALLY got the dresses. When I was measured I was told that I would either have to loose 10 lbs or get the next size up, which was $100 more. I said that I would just loose the 10 lbs. When I finally got my dress I had actually gained some weight, and the dress was WAY to big... come to find out that every single one of the brides maids dresses were way to big, we all could have gone down at least 2 sizes. Because we got the dresses so late we all had to pay extra to get the dresses altered. Which we did not do at Mary Kay's because we did not want give them the extra money. We all ended up spending almost as much on the alterations as on the dresses. This place is terrible. DO NOT GO HERE!!!!

Pros: none

Cons: poor service..

.

After a few snafus, the whole staff at Mary Kay extended exceptional customer service and went out of their way to make everything right...I appreciate all they did for me on my big day.

I purchased a bridesmaid dress from Mary Kay's Bridal & Tuxedos and it was a wonderful little shop with excellent customer service. The order was placed and came in on time and it was a seamless transaction.

I have purchased two dresses from Mary kay's bridal. I have sent over 15 people for weddings and prom to purchase a dress or tux for prom or for weddings. If you are getting married, you should order your dress and try on dresses the moment your engaged. if you don't, then that's when you run into problems. Most bridal stores have dresses you can try on HOWEVER you would have to order it. Most dresses are made overseas!!!! if the manufactor is delayed it is not the owner of the business fault. you cannot pull a dress out of a hat if you don't have it. so be smart and not a bridezilla. have your stuff in order. I don't know mary kay personally, but she is a nice lady. A lot nicer than I can say about other bridal stores... so on that note. if you wait to the last minute to order dresses, you are at risk of a delay. sorry if this sounds harsh. I never had a problem nor my friends ..so she get five stars from me!!!!

Cons: will hang up on customers when customers become rude and nasty.

I would highly recommend Mary Kay's Bridal!! I was referred to them from my fiance's cousin and she loved them as well! As soon as I walked in someone came over to help me start putting wedding gowns in a room for me to try on. They had a great selection to choose from! The store itself isn't too pretty, but the dresses are what is important. I went on a Saturday in July and Kathy was helping me. She was very friendly and helpful and made me feel like I was the only person in the store at the time! She never rushed me, let me take my time. Even let me just stand there in the dress FOREVER! :) Everyone in the store was very nice and kept commenting on the dresses I had been trying on and giving their in put. I found "The Dress" and ordered it a couple days later. When we called Kathy had remembered us and made us feel like we were the only ones she saw that day even though the store was pretty packed. I went home looked up their store read these reviews and became HORRIFIED! I was convinced my dress wasn't going to come in on time etc.. They said my dress would be in by March I got my dress the first week in December! It took only about 4 months! Myself and my seven bridesmaids headed back their to find their dresses. Again, right when we entered someone greeted us and helped us find dresses. Anything we needed they could help with, never making us feel like we were an inconvenience. We found the girls' dresses that night. All the workers stayed late that night as well helping everyone get things sized and figured out. They were so kind and helpful. We thought for sure the SEVEN dresses would take a while.. I got them the second week in Decemeber!! Took only 2 1/2 months. We had some stresses since one of the girls' lives out of state so there were TONS of back and forth phone calls and evertime they were cheery and ready to help and make things less stressful. We are so excited! WONDERFUL place and people! Highly Recommend them!!!!!

Cons: Building, Looks from the outside

Mary Kay bridal is the worst place ever. i went to look at dresses and all I got was horrible service. My friend personally knows Mary Kay and she is a snob and rude. i am surprised they are still in business. I only went there because she knows my friend. The store is a dump and the staff especially Ashley her daughter is a snob. They act like they didn't have patience for me and acted like every time i asked a question i was bothering them,,,,,,,do not go here..its not worth it.

This was an AWFUL experience...do NOT buy your bridal gown here!!! The customer service is horrific and my bridal gown measurements were incorrect so my gown did NOT fit!! I had been warned not to purchase here from other brides who had awful experience and unfortunately, I should have listened to them!!!

Now, I don't know if the dress can be repaired and may need to buy a new one. Once they get your money, they provide poor service...their sales staff acts as if you are "bothering" them when you have questions. I inquired about veils to go with my dress and got "yeah, they are over there!" They could not be bothered to help!!" I went to another bridal salon to purchase my veil and they spent over 30 minutes and were a delight. Had I only found them to purchase my gown!!!

Bottom line...go somewhere else !!!

Have you ever seen an episode of Bridezilla? I honestly wish my sister or I were one so I could have told Mary Kay and her staff what to do with their very poor service. Honestly, I have been in at least 6 weddings and have never experienced such difficulties! As noted in other reviews; the dresses took months longer than quoted even after several calls, the alterations (which are done on un-pressed gowns) were very poor quality and expensive, and the customer service is lacking (especially on the owner?s part). Many wishes for better service elsewhere and have a happy wedding day without Mary Kay!

Pros: You might find a friendly face on a "good day"

Cons: Slow service, stressful, and $$$. "Good days are few and far between."

We ordered our bridesmaids dresses and the bride's dress back in January, so that it was done with and to ensure plenty of time. We are now 2 months before the wedding date and still no dresses. My poor friend is freaking out that she will not have her dress in time. The lady actually told her that they have gotten dresses in the Monday before a Sunday wedding. This is not OK when we ordered our dresses in JANUARY! Over 10 months before the wedding date! They shop is just trying to gain interest on your money while they sit on it and order last minute! Now I know the last thing my friend wants to do is worry about the dresses at this point- so if you want to be a sane bride- don't bother with this place. All my friend wanted to do was support a local store- hopefully it will work out in the end but the addded stress is NOT WORTH IT!

Mary Kay?s Bridal was terrible. I would never recommend it to anyone. The bride and bridesmaids ordered the dresses in mid February for a wedding at the end of September (7 1/2 months in advance). We were told the dresses would arrive in July (five months). In mid July we called to check in and they weren't in but we were told they would be in by the last week in July. In the end the bride?s dress arrived three weeks before the wedding and the bridesmaids dresses arrived two weeks before. In the course of following up with phone calls the employees and owner were very rude. Two weeks does not allow enough time for five out of town bridesmaids to make alteration arrangements. In addition the store recommended that the alterations all be done there, on the same day, by the same seamstress to ensure they matched. Although we followed the recommendation, in the end they didn't match any way. The alterations for the bridesmaids were extremely expensive and the result was awful. The hem did not stay in and by mid afternoon of the wedding day the bridesmaids were stepping on the dresses. Two of the bridesmaids dresses seams broke at the zipper, which wasn't even an area of the dress that was altered. The bridal gown was special ordered (at additional cost) as recommended so it would fit and not require alterations. But it did require additional alterations (which were of course an additional charge as well). None of the dresses were pressed for fittings so it was impossible to see how they would really look. Mary Kay's Bridal made the bride feel awful and added much stress to the wedding planning.

I went to Mary Kay's Bridal after trying several other places. They had the best selection that I have found so far. At other places, I have struggled to find even 2 dresses that I liked enough to try on. I ended up trying on around 10 at Mary Kay's. Ashley was helping me and she was great! She did not pressure me to try anything I didn't like, and listened to what I was looking for before making recommendations. She also made sure I had all the info I was looking for before I left. I will be returning to order my dress within a couple of weeks. The only problem I had was trying to decide between two dresses, which is a good problem to have considering previous experiences at other shops. I definitely recommend Mary Kay's!

Pros: Price! The dress was $200 less than other local shops (that didn't even stock it).

When I first went in there, i loved the place. They were really nice and helpful, espisally Ashley. I ordered my wedding dress and didn' thave any problems. Then we found our bridesmaids dresses there, the ordering process went fine. I was told they we be here in 6 months at the most. That was fine because the wedding was still a ways away. I called them after Easter ( when the 6 months was up) they said the dresses would be here in 2 weeks and i was supposed to call them then. Two weeks went by and i called them again. They said they didn't know where the dresses were and that they were somewhere between here and China. I thought well how could you not know! This what you do for a business! So i waited another 2 weeks, what do you know, there still not here. In the end they took 10 months to get!!! Mary Kay herself is a very poor busniness woman. She is rude, snotty and down right mean. She hung up on me when i was trying to figure out where my dresses were! I wish i would have known what a bad place this is. Never, Never go there! Once they have your money, they want nothing else to do with you.

Pros: Nice dresses

Cons: The owner is evil & rude, customer service

The initial visit when purchasing was great. After that, they lost my try on appointments and we had to wait for a very long time to get fitted for our wedding dresses. When I asked how long we would have to wait the owner lifted the day's scheduled appointments and stated: what is it you want me to do about it? It was not until I started to contact other alterations places did they "fit us in". My alterations were done poorly, I cried at what they did to my wedding dress and they did not press the alterations on either dress so it was impossible to tell if it was going to work or not. I ordered a third dress, was never contacted about it's arrival. When I contacted them, I was met with abruptness and rudeness and told the dress was probably there, but they could not confirm it and would let me know. They never got back to me about whether or not they had my other bridesmaids dress with 2 weeks to go before my wedding date. I still don't know if they have it. As a small business owner, I am surprised they are in business. A classic case of "get you in the door, too late to change, and let you hang"
