The Children's Museum is a fun place for kids and would be a lot nicer for adults if it weren't so busy.
My son's favorite part was actually the baby/toddler hall even though he is a preschooler. He also loved the water in the one exhibit hall.

This is the place to go if you have younger children. It is packed full with hands on learning experiences to engage the little ones minds. Parents and kids are sure to have loads of fun here. And they are constantly changing the activities, so there is always something new to learn about and do. They also offer free admission each month on a sunday, for families to experience the musuem.

There are seven galleries to wander through at the Children's museum. Kids get to be involved in hands-on activities and it helps them learn the mysteries of science, nature and art. Kids feel like they are playing the entire time but they are really learning. You can have birthday parties at the museum also. Admistion is $7.95 for every age and this offers all day entertainment for the entire family.

The exhibits had some things that were difficult for younger kids to understand or do, yet the older kids were generally bored. I used to have a daycare membership and took the kids once a month or so, but it got boring and we stopped going.

Worth one visit, but I wouldn't recommend a membership

My kids love going to the childrens Musuem. It's a great place to spend a Saturday afternoon or go with friends.,The kids enjoy all the activities offered here. Many schools from all over the area come here for field trips. It is always a clean atmosphere . It is easy to find downtown St. paul. Your kids will ask to go again . I would highly reccomend you to take your kids here .

It is a good place to take younger kids up to about 9 or 10. The exhibits change regularly so it's never boring. It's great for winter days. And there are many ways to get discount tickets. Child care providers get free tickets. I don't think it is that expensive even with out. The only bad thing is that it is downtown St Paul. But other than that it's great.

We went to the Children's museum for my son's 1st grade field trip. There were about 5 or 6 different areas with all different activites for the kids to get their hands on! They had an area for winter play(snowballs and igloos, etc), an area for lots of hands on fun and movement(a factory), an area for exploration and experimentation, and much more!! The kids had a blast! They also had a little activity set up for each class to learn about shoes around the world with a teacher(story, map, coloring, and questions). I would highly recommend this for ANY family or school. All ages can get in on the action.

The Children's Museum is my son's favorite place to go. They have exhibits that are good for the very young up to about 10 years of age. It is a colorful and fun place to play. The memberships are very reasonable and a great deal if you plan to visit a lot. We have had two birthday parites there and they have been big successes.

This is the place my kids always ask to go to. There is so much hands on play and learning, that they just can't get enough. It is nice because they have a seperate room for younger aged kids, so they don't get trampled over by older kids. Some of my kids favorites are the ant hill and the water table with the boats. A couple of times a year they have a different "visiting" display that is always a lot of fun. As an adult though, I have to admit that I sometimes get overwhelmed with the amount of kids.

The MN Children's museum is a wonderful place to take the kids. There is TONS to do! Kids of all ages would love the different activities. They have several floors and rooms filled with different themes. They change 2 of the rooms periodically. They also have story times and special events as well. The third Sunday of each month is FREE admission. If you want to avoid the crowds, you can still get in free by checking out passes at the Dakota County Libraries or St Paul libraries. The passes are good for 6 people and have to be used within 7 days!

I'm not sure who has more fun when we go, parents or kids! There are at least half a dozen different rooms/areas with different themes. Most rooms are suitable for a wide range of ages. I could easily spend all afternoon in the Habitot room with my toddler. The Dakota County library system offers a Passport to Play which you can check out and it admits 6 people free to the museum. For directions, parking info, and their calendar of events, check out the Children's Museum web site at: www.mcm.org

PROS: Fun for all ages!
CONS: Downtown location (you need to pay to park)

I'll be the first to admit, you (as an adult) don't go to a children's museum expecting to learn much, if anything. After all, it's geared towards children. The Minnesota Childrens Museum offers many great exhibits that easily make learning fun for children, and can keep them entertained for hours, and if you're anything like me, you might learn a new interesting fact or two for yourself! The current promotion of "Animal Grossology" has been interesting for sure. The only real gripe is what several others have said, and I think it's true of many downtown businesses, and that is parking.

Lots of hands on activities for kids to do. They have a water room, construction, restaurant, grocery store, and an area that changes every few months. We went through the Dakota County Library's passport to play and got in free for 6 people. Great deal. Also every 3rd Sunday is free.

We love that the rooms change often and that there is so much variety! you can get an annual pass which is a really good deal if you live in the cities - then you can go for just a few hours and not feel as though it is a waste!

This museum delivers! My girls get goo goo eyed just walking into the place with the colorful, exciting design! They love playing in the water/bubble room, where spills are only natural! The ant hill is another hit, especially for by three year old bug lover! This place is sure to be a hit for your 2-5 year old! Very affordable, indoor fun, plus it is baby friendly as well! Family restrooms and nursing stations make this the place to go for moms and kids or whole family outings!

PROS: Family friendly, price
CONS: Parking, tinyparking spots in the ramp! Child friendly food not close

Great place to take the kids to play and learn at the same time during the winter months when its too cold to be outdoors. They have lots of great programs throughout the year. Admission prices are very reasonable for all there is to see and do. You can also become a member with unlimited access for a year for $75 for 2 adults and all children under 18 in the same household.

This place is a toddlers dream. There is so much to do and see. Honestly children can be released in this building and be kept happy for days. Once again a fantastic value for any family. FYI every third sunday is free. Woohoo bargain mania. Take your family and let them learn and play all at the same time.
