Supervalue owns cub. Supervalue, Cub, and Rainbow are all much more expensive than Super Target or Wal Mart. Compare almost any grocery item (especially frozen food) and Cub and Rainbow charge dollars more for the same food... dollars! That is insane.
Hmm, should I pay $7.99 for a bag of Bertolli Pasta at Cub, or $6.49 at Target? Not much of a choice!

This store has the best prices and best quality of meat in town, besides the meats other stores refuse to sell. The other items are pretty high compared to Cub or Rainbow. But on the other hand it is a full service store. They bag your groceries (unlike the super stores) and they also have a drive up service.
Too bad these independant stores are a dying breed, with the Super Stores buying power, they just can't compete.

High prices, low quality service!!! Prices are not comparable to Cub Foods or Uptown Rainbow, (which is near by if you have a car) and much better!! This so-called grocery store takes advantage of the low-income by a supply and demand effect. (No better than Exxon). There is not another competitive grocery store in the neighborhood or in walking distance where low-income people reside. This store takes advantage of this by charging higher prices knowing there is no alternative for many. I will never go back to this store or another cub food store again!! Rainbow here I come!!

On the upside, Sullivan's Supervalu grocery store has lots of parking, and it is far from overwhelmingly huge. In fact, its tiny size means that the selection is limited and the prices are high. It's convenient if you're in the area and need just an item or two, but not recommended for a regular grocery shopping trip.
