The owner hates public employees! In regards to a recent star tribune article he doesn't care about the sacrifices public employees make and wants them to make sacrifices when the food service industry is slumping. Does Mr. Jensen pay

We have become regulars at Jensens since we moved to Eagan. We have also made it a New Years ritual to go to the Wild game and end up at Jensens for a great New Years meal. The staff is at their best and the food is outstanding, along with a vodka martini and what a better way to bring in the New Year. I highly recommend Jensens for New Years and any other special occassion.

We went to Jensen's for the first time last night. From the minute we sat at the bar I knew it would be a great evening. The bartender was wonderful! Drink suggestions were on the mark and wonderful. When our friends arrived, we were shown to our table and given the specials for the evening. We were with friends we hadn't seen in almost a year, so we were busy talking, not focusing on the menu. We were NEVER rushed which is so unusual. Everyone ordered something different. I had the chicken oscar.....fabulous! My husband had a steak which was wonderful too. One friend had the shrimp special which was great and the other had the Larry's pork chop....fabulous again. We had a wonderful meal, great service and a great time. We will go back again and again

Went there for a date and it was great! The food was delicious! Talk about an awesome steak! Great Martinis and Wine selection too! Jensen's was very clean and well-kept, and had an old Hollywood like charm to it. I almost felt like I was living out a scene in L.A. Confidential or something. We had no problems with the waitstaff and no problems making an online reservation.
I will definitely be going back here again to dine! :)

Pros: Martinis, Wine, Steak, and the Charm

Cons: The kitchenware lining the dinningroom with the giant Marlin in it.

Be sure to check your receipt! We were charged double for our tip! If we didn't happen to look at our bank statement, the waitress would have gotten away with stealing from us! When we called to get it straightened out, we didn't receive an apology. My husband and I went their for our anniversary and had terrible service to . We had to ask to get our drinks filled multiple times. The food itself was pretty good, but I would never go back there.

This was THE most amazing dinner that we have had in years. The food is spectacular. The beer and wine selection is extravegant and the staff impeccable. The gal who took care of us during dinner "Laura" knew that we were out on a date and slowed the whole meal down. It was a flawless 3 hour dinner that just amazing. I would never hesitate to go back or to try anything on their menu, I'm sure it's perfect!

Pros: It's the most amazing restaurant, it rivals Kincaids of St. Paul and Manny's of Minneapolis

Cons: I wish there was a more private dining experience for romantic evenings

We have been to Jensen's many times. A friend turned us on to Jensen's years ago and we love him for it! Last time we visited was for my parents' 30th anniversary. They had a big party for their 25th and wanted something simple with just our immediate family. I immediately thought of Jensen's and booked a reservation. We are always treated like valued guests, royalty even when we come in the door. I don't mean to sound cheesy, but the service is just top notch. They TRULY understand who pays their bills, the customers. The drinks at Jensen's are superbly made and very generous. They can creep up on you so be careful! My mother ordered steak and lobster and was very pleased. The rest of our food, including a selection of family sides were all wonderful. Their salad with mandarin oranges is fabulous. I just read a review that mentioned poor service and was very surprised. In all the times we have been to Jensen's, we have always had attentive, efficient service. People arrive at the tables to remove plates and fill water glasses at just the right time. The servers are all very class acts and deserve every bit of the tip we leave. If you want a simple dinner on a Tuesday night or an special Saturday night out with your friends and family, Jensen's will not let you down.

My partner and I have dined at Jensen's about five times in the past two years, and have been impressed each and every time. Most recently, however, we chose Jensen's as the spot to host a large family event over New Year's 2008, where we had a group of 12 in attendance. We were served promptly and with the kind of grace that you expect of a real supper club. Our server, Linda, was extremely skilled as are all of the service staff at Jensen's, and our entire dinner went off perfectly. Jensen's is an excellent place to host an event for a group because the layout allows for privacy. We were seated in a an area that was architecturally closed off from the main dining room, so we felt cozy and warm, and even though it was a large group, the setting was intimate. The food was incredible, beginning with the mandarin salad that stands out because of its fresh citrus, then on to the popovers which are melt-in-your-mouth good. Several of us had the prime rib, and my partner had the sirloin steak. Without exception, we were impressed with the quality and flavor of the food. The sides were simply excellent.
The wine list at Jensen's is outstanding. My partner had a delicious red with his sirloin, a perfect match. Dessert was their signature raspberry bread pudding. This is a bread pudding that puts all others to shame with its delicious delicate crust, through its creamy and warm center that is bursting with raspberries. Dinner at Jensen's was the seminal event of my family's New Year Holiday, and there is no other restaurant that I could trust so completely with the details of an event. As long as I choose Jensen's, I know I can relax because they will take care of my guests. That feeling, that you have provided your guests with a truly excellent dining experience, is a wonderful one. This is without a doubt my favorite dining experience in the Twin Cities.

We certainly picked the right place to take my brother and his wife as a gift of gratitude for the many years they spent giving TLC to Mom. Sitting at a round table with plenty of space between us and other guests was a perfect setting for an evening of fine dining with family. The food exceeded expectations. Our server, Chris, did an outstanding job of selecting wine to compliment our evening. I plan on returning frequently and soon.

This is your classic supper club. Think 1950's or 60's and you wouldn't be surprised if Frank Sinatra was reincarnated and walked in the door with the RatPack. The food won't disappoint and the classic popover is terrific (with honey butter!). The walleye is excellent.

I was a little disappointed in the service. We ordered the 'before 6' specials and she pretty much gave us minimum service after that. She visited the table right next to us and walked past us several times without so much as a glance, failing to refill our drinks for many minutes.

I called the manager to complain and he was understanding about the situation and promised to address it.

Jensen's Supper Club is a fabulous dining experience. The Prime Rib which have 24 ounce cuts is outstanding. It is the best I have ever had and it's not really all that close. The service is very good at Jensen's. The prices are high but that is to be expected with the quality they serve. They also give freshly made popovers with meals with some sort of sweetened butter-very good. They also have delicious desert options. If you are looking for a classy meal apart from chains - this is a great place too go.

Hard to believe you can find this kind of atmosphere next to a strip mall in the suburbs. Great ambience, large wine selection, food that is wonderfully prepared and served and a selection not found in the chains in the area. Prices are definately reasonable.

This was the best anniversary dinner we've ever had! The waiter Owen was phenominal, he really took care of us. This food cannot be beat. It was our second trip to Jensens and it just gets better. The coconut shrimp was the best we've ever tasted, our dinners were the Ribeye and Parmisan Walleye, and once again we've never had it better. Jensens has easily become our favorite restaurant in the cities! And if you go, hopefully you'll get Owen as a waiter!

Jensen's Supper Club in Eagan sends out a lot of coupons, but even with coupons, they are still expensive. I had steak and seafood and for the price paid, I would have expected very, very good steak and seafood. But it was just average - the steaks I grill at home are better. It's a fancy atmosphere and the staff are prompt and courteous.

We had a few problems with our anniversary dinner at Jensens Supper Club last night.
DO NOT use the online reservation service. It states the reservation isn't confirmed unless a reply is recieved. I had to call the restaurant to confirm as no reply was sent. I also stated on the reseration that we will be celebrating our anniversay. Jensen's didn't acknowlege it in any way!
We felt rushed throughout the meal. After the entree, our waiter, (who already had our bill in his hand) asked if we needed anything else. We didn't dare to ask to see the dessert menu or a cup of coffee.
In a positive note the martini's are outstanding!! The coconut shrimp appetizer was very good, as well as the prime rib. The lobster tails were rubbery and overcooked.
The bottom line: Jensen's has great potential. I hope we had a rare mixed experience.

My husband and I ate there on New Year's Eve, and I have to say, the food was fabulous. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting. The only con was that at 35 years old we were absolutely the youngest couple at the restaurant (we even got carded!) The waiter was a bit snobbish - probably thinking we'd stiff him on the tip since we were just kids :) But, the hostess was extremely friendly and all in all we enjoyed the experience.

Some friends and I tried out this place recently. We ordered appetizers in addition to our four dinners based on the last review written on this restaurant stating that the portions were somewhat small. This couldn't be further from the truth, we had way too much food. The portions are sensible, if not too large. The atmosphere was a throw back to the supper clubs of yore. The live music on Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday nights is a welcome treat. Not to mention that the food is superb. We will definitely be back again and again.

If you want lots of food this is not for you.

The quantity is small but the food is top-notch.
We had the Lobster tail and Filet mignon special.
My last job allowed me to try a lot of this style of rest. and Jensen's is one of the best.
The lobster was excellent and the filet was with the best. Be careful! A group of four can easily go over $150 without a blink.
The atmosphere is excellent. The booths are great. It truly is fifties style done right and MAINTAINED! Check it out.

With its dark interior and plush booths, Jensen's is a throwback to the supper clubs of the 50s where every family ritual dinner took place - graduation, birthday, etc. Our last visit, our fourth, was typical - the food was great (interesting steak and seafood entrees done to perfection), service exemplary (family friendly from the hostess to the server to the manager), and Dad's martini was perfect. The server even ran out Mom's steak leftovers to the car after she left it on the table!

The kids all had good choices and great portions, and overall we didn't break the family bank like we could do in a fancy (and more pretentious)Minneapolis steak house. We have a new ritual gathering spot for these family dinners. Enjoy yourself and visit a hidden treasure in the south suburbs.
