I have been to Mi Lupita a dozen or more times and the food is wonderful. None of the extra vegtables hanging on for the looks. The service is very special the waiter always remembers our orders and what we like to drink.

I took my children there tonight (9/11/09). There were two servers for the entire restaurant, bar and patio (on a Friday night!) We waited 15 before we had to go to the hostess stand to request someone come to our table to at least give us drinks.

The salsa was thick and much spicier than most restaurants, which I suppose would be a plus under normal circumstances.

However, the table was sticky, service was horrible and the food wasn't even good. The enchilada sauce didn't taste right, they didn't get our order right, the rice was sticky and flavorless, the cheese tasted like oil and had puddles around it, and the corn tortillas were stale.

The waiter was certainly friendly enough, and clearly overwhelmed, but this is a place that I will definitely be avoiding in the future. In fact, it was so bad in so many ways that this is the first review I've ever posted... I think others should know what a horrible experience we had this evening.

The atmosphere is just like a ghost town since Jose and his family left. Absolutely no customer service... I had one refill the whole time and my mouth was on fire.. I think the waitress forgot about my table, she had this startled look on her face when she came around the corner 30 min later. I heard they are going to sell it soon... I would wait till they open a new one.. the food doesn't even taste the same, and it wasn't that great to begin with... we just came for the margaritas and the chat.

You have to try the D-22 Pollo Asado, its grilled chicken with delicious sauce and melted cheese, it's comes with beans, rices and tortillas.. all for under $10!! Other Great items are Chile Rellenos, Steak Quesadilla, Chicken Fajita Salad(the lupita special sauce is incredible), yum yum. For those of you that like regular items, they do have incredible Chimichanga,Fajitas, and Tacos..oh my..lol Give their food a try or enjoy their happy hour. ;)

Pros: Great food, Good size bar, Patio seating, free standing building, plenty of parking

Cons: its hidden, but once you realize its right next to(behind) Gravois Grill. its great

For great food, great drinks, and great company there is no better place! For barflies, the only downside is no jukebox. Don't worry, the conversation is much better than a jukebox any day.

I have never been to a friendlier place to eat. The food is excellent, the service is excellent, the drinks are excellent and the people who work there are awesome. No need to look any further, the best mexican restaurant is right here! Jose and his family have a first class establishment!

I place this restaurant one notch higher than most St. Louis mexican restaurants. They are little more fresh and a little more authentic. Their chips and enchiladas are pretty good and they are fast. Their takeout is packaged well and you get plenty to eat.

PROS: Fast, hot and fresh
CONS: Not the best mexican I've ever had

The food was okay. Lots of Authentic mexican dishes to choose from but quite a bit pricey for what you were served.

The thing that got me was how dirty the bathroom was. I know they were not open for more than a few minutes the day that I visited and it was absolutely filthy like it hadn't been cleaned in weeks.

My favorite restaurant in St. Louis, of any kind. The people are great, the food is great - every time. The best part is that the same dish can be made just a little different on each visit, so there is always reason to come back.

We have been to Mi Lupita in Fenton at least 50 times over the past two years, and I can't think of a single bad experience there. The owners are "buena gente" and the waiters are very personable. The food is the best Mexican I have tasted in St. Louis (with Pueblo Solis in South City a close second). Also, the prices are inexpensive - not cheap, but inexpensive. Finally, if you have kids, I would highly recommend this restaurant.
