If I could give it less than one star, I would! My fiance and I met there over the summer, very excited about possibly having a reception there, as it is a very beautiful part of Missouri and the nearby river views are awesome. We met with the owner who bragged about their 'excellent' French cuisine. The owner seemed pretty insistent that we stay for dinner, told us to try certain things on the menu, even though we told her we had a limited budget and we didn't like frois gras. Since she invited us to dinner, we tried the frois gras, which was gross as it is anywhere else in the world... But what bothered us the most was that there was a R O A C H in our food. Cooked in my fiance?s pasta dish!!!! So like any fine restaurant, they offered us, dessert. What kind of restaurant offers free dessert when obviously the patrons are disgusted by the dishes? They did comp his dish, but we paid for the rest of the meal (even though the owner insisted we stay--RUDE and deceiving) we received, even though it went unfinished due to the disgust of the dead b u g. Up until that point, we were ready to pay thousands of dollars for our reception. Unfortunately for the r o a c h but fortunately for us, we found out about this nasty, i n f e s t e d place before we gave them money. Also, the selection of wine there isn't all Eagle's Nest...why say you?re a Missouri winery when you have very little and nothing good from our local region?? It turned out to be a far cry from anything I've ever had in France, let alone a local boutique winery! Good thing the restaurant is far up HWY 79 because there is no way it would survive in the STL metro area. I'd be surprised if it's even still there in 6 months to a year. If you do winery day trips, skip this place, it's not worth it.

Pros: It was pretty, we really were excited about this place

Cons: dirty, unfriendly, rude, creatures cooked in food, the kind that will be around after a bomb, if you catch my drift
