Recycled Sounds

Recycled Sounds is something of a hidden gem in Kansas City. Their tiny shop holds an amazing assortment of music at reasonable prices. Their staff are knowledgeable, and can help recommend gift selections. Sometimes you have to do a little digging to find things in the chaos, but it is worth the effort.

I love Recycled Sounds. They have a very impressive collection of new and used CDs, and collectible records for people who still have that sort of player! They've got music and movie posters, too. What I love about it is there's something for everyone; it doesn't focus on one specific genre of music. This store is for music lovers in general. You can find a lot of rare gems at Recycled Sounds - their collection is diverse and immense, and it's not pricey at all!

recycled sounds rocks. while they arent a very big store, they will certainly impress. they have an excellent selection of new and used cds. and an even better selection of vinyl. anything you listen to, the guys that work there will know what it is and where to find it.

i love their selection of vintage and old magazines. any band you can think of, they will have them on the cover of all the major magazines, plust a bunch you have never heard of.

and their poster selection is unmatched. every band, singer, movie, actor, personality is represented - generally several times- and for cheap.

bottom line, recycled sounds rocks

When it comes to independent record stores in the Kansas City area, Recycled Sounds is far and away the best. They offer a large collection of new and used CDs/vinyl, posters, shirts, magazines, ect. The store is located near one of the easiest places to park in the Westport area.

PROS: Great selection of independent music.
CONS: Can sometimes be difficult to navigate through their inventory.
