I'm guessing Chris works for a competing Indian restaurant in the area as "Indian Food" is the best Indian restaurant in St Louis. I'm Indian myself and eat at Indian restaurants 1-2 times a week (I eat out every day). St Louis has very poor Indian restaurants compared to other major cities, the only real exceptions being "Indian Food", House of India and one take-out place I can't recall the name of. "Indian Food" is unique in that they serve home-style Indian food, not 'Restaurant-style'. What does this mean? It means their dishes do not contain the large volumes of cream and starch that restaurant-style food contains in order to make the sauces thick. Instead they use exquisite seasoning to create some fantastic flavors, and ditch the cream (much less fat). The quality of the meat is good, and the breads are all fantastic. The restaurant is family owned and run and everyone is very friendly. A huge number of people stop in for take-out food, and the restaurant actually offers "meal plans" for folks who want their daily lunch/dinner here.
PROS: Fantastic taste, Healthier than other Indian restaurants
CONS: I wish it were in the central west end
