Our family loves Science City despite the fact its patrons have declined in past years. We love to visit the planetarium and dinasour lab. We try to attend all of the special exhibits which are always changing. Unfortunately, the news is always implying that Science City is on the verge of closing its doors due to poor attendance. If you love this place as much as we do, make sure you visit more often so they can keep this Kansas City treasure open!

PROS: Great educational exhibits for the whole family.
CONS: Lower attendance threatens is continuing operation

I was here once but it was very impressive. First of all, the ticket price was reasonable (for $14 you will get the round-trip tickets which includes everything). There is an experiment area that kids really like since they can try many new things with interesting objects (like in dino lab). Most exhibition is 3D and very visual appealing even for adults. I would definitely come here again if I have a chance to go to Kansas City.

They have made some improvements lately, including lowering the ticket prices. There's so much to see and do, for kids of all ages. The Planetarium is really neat too! Check it out.

I think Science City At Union Station is a good first try to get kids and learning together. There are lots of fun things at Science City (the bike on the wire, etc.) but just as many boring things that kids pass up. I applaud the designers efforts and think they are really on the right track. However, they may just need to do a little updating and refining. Try asking the kids what they may want to see....they may surprise you.

what a great place to have here in Kansas city. Science city is a huge place with one part being museum and hands on experimenting and the other part being a constantly changing exhibition. When we take our kids there we all (the whole family) have a blast. there are several scientific experiments that the kids can take (music, weather, criminology....), there's an indoor playground, indoor mini golf court (really small though) and then there is the exhibit. it changes every 3-4 month and is always really interesting. There's lots of things to learn for everybody. It's not cheap to get in, depending on how big the family is, but you can stay for hours and not get bored! There's also a little bistro with tables to sit and eat. Great family outing!

Science city is a fun and educational place to take the kids. There is so much to do you'll have a hard time finishing in a day. The one down side is the adults have to pay to get in so it can be a little pricey. My kids loved the dino-lab and digging for fossils. Make sure and check it out they are always bringing in new things.

The kids really love going to science city and learning about new things a few times a year. They loved the dino-lab, and we can't wait for the next show they have there! Union station is being put to such a great use now.

Very few of the exhibits were in working order. Perhaps as many as fifty percent were dismantled or not working properly. The price would have been a little high had everything been working. We strongly considered asking for a refund. I thought it was a disgrace to our city.

Come see history restored. This building was built in 1913 and fully renovated in 1996. They offer something for everyone from movies, dining, to Science City where you can explore and learn with a hundred activities. Great place to bring the family and plenty to do and see. You wont be disappointed.

This is a great educational and fun place to take the kids on a rainy day. There is so much to do and see that we didn't finish in one day. I even tried the floating bicycle across the Science City, it was quite fun. Lots of hands on things also.

Nice place to take the kids on the weekend. Adults must also pay for entry. Huge facility with all kinds of educational games and attractions for kids and adults. Enjoy digging for fossils and miniature golf. Always a good crowd present but go during the week for more personal space. Your children will have more fun than at a Chuck E. Cheeses and will definitely learn more You too will enjoy Science City, I did!
