I'm sorry, I know that Imo's is a St. Louis original, but this is NOT good pizza (or should I say "this is NOT pizza"). It tastes like it came out of a can. The meat is greasy, the veggies are soggy, the crust is limp, and the cheese is...I don't know what that stuff is. Any pizzaria that can deliver your food in less than fifteen minutes needs to learn how to bake pizza. Fortel's is clearly the best that St. Louis has to offer. That is a real pizza.

Pros: Excellent Salad, Friendly

Cons: Not in St. Pauls, NC

The cheese on top of this cracker makes velveeta seem like a natural cheese. A medium is a small, a large is a medium, and extra large a large. This so called pizza (which it is not) might cost the company a $1.00 to make then they charge you $15.00. If you better value, flavor and the exact same thing, get the cheapest frozen pizza from the grocery store (not bake to rise) and toss it in your own oven. When I ordered my first Imo's while here on an interview (recommended by the hotel desk), I ordered a medium peperoni. When the box arrived I thought it was empty when it was handed to me. When I looked inside the box, "let down " is an understatement.

Over a year ago my husband and I moved to the west coast. Of course there is no Imo's here. There is nothign that even compares. But the managers at Imo's are so wonderful and they are sending frozen pizzas with my mom when she flies out for the holidays. We miss u St. Louis!

Only Saint Louisans can stand Imo's pizza. If this chain were anyplace else it would not even be in business. The crust taste like cardboard and the toppings are no better. I'll take Domino's pizza over Imo's anyday. I'll take home cooked Red baron pizza over Imo's pizza. I just can't believe Imo's is number one in Saint Louis.

I went there. Once. On a visit to St. Louis. We didn't know what it was, but everyone was like 'You should go to Imo's' so we did. BIG MISTAKE. There is something up with the cheese. It's called provel: a mix of a whole bunch of other cheeses that don't belong. PIZZA IS ITALIAN!! IF THEY DON'T DO IT, YOU SURE AS HELL BETTER NOT TRY!!

What can I say: Simply yucky. Very odd consistency in the cheese, skimpy toppings. I like thin crust pizza & this crust was ok until it got soggy from the oily cheese food. Sauce reminded me of either Ragu or Chef-boy-ardee.

this is by far the best pizza in st. louis, hands down, no contest. i grew up in st. louis, and lived here for eighteen years, when i went away to school, imo's was the one food i would crave constantly! i lived in chicago and have to say that their pizza is the worst, its downright revolting. Imo's on the otherhand, has st. louis's own cheese, provel, not provolone as people like to mistake it, and its great, the sauce is awesome, i don't think the people here really have tastebuds, because its zesty and perfect in everyway. imo's not only has the best pizza in the area, but has awesome salad, and of course another st. louis special, toasted ravs, i cannot say too much about this place, i love it, and could not live without it!

I will say that Imos is a top choice of mine when ordering pizza. Although, it is a top choice, I think that Nick & Elena's Pizza is by far the best pizza is St. Louis. The sauce and chesse mixture at Nick & Elena's is superb. I know people personally that drive from as far as Ballwin and Warrenton, just to have it. Also, some of my family, who lives in Oregon, orders it every time they get in town. For those who haven't tried it, you'd be doing yourself a favor by making Nick & Elena's your next pizza.

My family and relative (18 of us!) are regular customer of IMO's and it's wonderful pizza! It's apparent to me after reading the huge volume of negative reviews that IMO's has had one single spammer submitting dozens and dozens of negative reviews (a disgruntled employee perhaps?) I note the repetitive use of these words: velveeta, cracker, saltine, complaint about provel cheese, the notion that "st. louisans don't know pizza" and the grammar is stylistically the same between the reviews. A simple investigation of the submitting IP addresses from these negative reviews would likely reveal that these countless negative reviews are coming from the same individual.

If you like cheap catsup spread ove a communion wafer sprinkles with cheese akin to chef-boy-ardee rejects, then this is for you. Went to St Louis recently and looked up Imo's based on hte recomendations here. Still not over the horrifying experience. This is the same pizza I refused to eat in the school cafeteria in hte 3rd grade. HORRIBLE!!!!! Never thought I'd say this, but Pizza Hut, Dominoes, Papa Johns are all terrific compared to this skank. (my opinion only)

The pizza is gross! It is not true pizza. True pizza has thicker crust, is made with mozzerella cheese, not provelone, and it actually has some flavor. Imo's pizza is dowright disgusting and flavorless. True pizza can only be found at places that are more out of the ordinary and that actually have an atmosphere.

The absolute best pizza I've ever had in my Life! I grew up in St Louis and am now in FL for college, and IMO's is the only food I truly miss! We have New York and Chicago style places here... I want an IMO's! I wish they'd bring the franchise down this way! (Ft Myers, FL)

I have ordered from quite a few different Imo's in the South County area, and there seems to be no consistancy from one to the other. It is either undercooked with a large amount of toppings (deluxe) at one and over cooked at another.

Thank goodness more of you are finally realizing that this is the most overrated pizza ever. St. Louisans have talked themselves into loving it and refuse to let go. If it had any measurable amount of actual sauce on it, and used anything but the most god-awful, greasiest cheese ever created, it might be tolerable. Actually, it might be pretty good. But the provolone and the lack of sauce make this exactly what other reviewers have suggested--an hors d'oeuvre, not a pizza.

Imo's pizza is awful. Velveeta like cheese creates a slime like coating on the roof of your mouth. The sauce is quite similar to Campbell's Tomato soup, just slightly thicker. The crust is thinnker than communion waifers. It's a boring pizza and for some strange reason is on the #1 spot??

Yes as a person who lived in St Louis for ten years and liked it; I still think St. Louisan's have the worst taste in Pizza. Imos is nothing more than cheeze whiz on a frozen cracker crust. If you truly want St Louis style pizza go to one of the non chain type establisments like faraci.. and if you just want the best Pizza go to Raccanelli's..a couple of guys from the bronx who know how to make a Pie!!!

This pizza reminds me of Velveeta on a cracker! Being from Chicago, this has to be the worst pizza ever! Why would I pay the same price for a cracker pizza, when I could go to Pizzeria Uno and get a real pizza, with a deep-dish crust. You can only eat one slice of it, it's so thick! And what is with all of the provel cheese? Pizza is supposed to have mozarella cheese. Another great pizza place with real pizza is Jakes Pizza on Clarkson Rd. in Ellisville. Fortels pizza is excellent too, although the crust is a little on the thin side.

Imo's pizza is one of the best out there! Those of you who know that you don't like thin crust pizza should realize that Imo's is not the place for you. Say if I don't like curry then I'm not going to keep stopping at an Indian restaurant to try a curry dish...duh!

Seriously though, what makes Imo's pizza Imo's is the thin crust and the unique cheese. However, the sauce can vary from location to location and the Imo's in Kirkwood has the best in town (in my opinion). Those who don't like Imo's stay out because that just means more for those of us who love it!
