fantastic facility -we've served as a vendor many years w/ zoo & ponies- sad when we asked to set up in shade they put us by the cars instead of in the middle of the field under 2 big trees, and the few little trees right there by the road didn't offer much shade and no grass- the zoo was set up in shade that moved in 2 hours and the ponies had to walk in the sun all day. The owner has banned other pony & zoo companies in the past and that's how we were offered this contract- he yelled at me for complaining about where we were set up and said ?you didn't like where we set you up? You'll never come back again!- I'll trash your name thru-out Jefferson County"...I can't believe I'm not allowed to stand up for the comfort and safety of my animals in the middle of August without being blacklisted. Inflatable obstacle courses were in total shade and the owner said- "you should've come in Friday nite"- which is unreasonable- the animals are not going to spend the nite in the park... we had requested that area under the big trees the year before- please petition the owner to reconsider- the kids enjoy the zoo & pony rides and the animals & ponies deserve to be given a shady area to work. Our business does not sustain itself. I work full time as a nurse to maintain the animals and pay for their feed & vet costs. The pony rides & zoo income pays for fuel and workers to help lead the ponies. I worked all day Friday and from 11pm Fri. to 8am Sat. in the ICU. this schedule is not conducive to being very pleasant, so I just drive the truck, let my workers assist with the kids, and was stupid enough to complain about safety issues -being too close to cars and not enough shade for the animals. I don't think the owner is being reasonable in throwing me out of the park forever. I tried to apologize and explain that I had been awake and working for 30 hours straight, and he would hear none of it.

this is a good place to go if you want to spend the whole day outdoors - we've gone several times now. We bring stuff to bbq for lunch & dinner and then go to the pool when it gets too hot. its a park setting so you have plenty of room to throw horseshoes, a ball, or whatever games you want to play. have never had any problems there & the pool is so big that even when there are alot of people there, there's still plenty of room in the pool.

It is a fun pool to go on a summer's day, but there are a ton of teens there, so if you are wanting to take a family, take that into consideration. It is a huge pool and it has a concession stand. Good time.

This is a great place to go on a hot summer day. There is a huge pool with diving boards. You have plenty of space to swim around in and you don't feel cramped. The admisson is reasonable for a day at the pool and you can even go out and grill lunch or have a picnic. They even have a great kids section in the pool. Not a bad place to spend the day with the kids.

Yesterday was my first time visiting Springdale. I was very happy to find an affordable swimming hole within a half hours drive from my south city home. Even better was the affordable admission of just six dollars. I had some concerns-I haven't been swimming in years, and we had five children with us when we went. I was happy to discover that there is PLENTLY of room in the "shallow end" ( under 3 feet deep) of the pool. There were lots of families with toddlers there, and park rules, such as no running, were strictly enforced. There are sprinklers and a slide for small children, and even diving boards on the deep end. There is also plenty of picnic areas with BBQ pits, and even a snack bar. They also sell water toys like inner tubes and rafts. I plan to go back next week-if my sunburn heals!!
