Please do not support Scandals, or now called Glow Day Spa. The owner, Sandy, is a thief. She offered to pay a neighbors utility bill if they just gave her a supplementl check per month. Turns out, she first over charged them and stole their checks and used their checks to pay the bills. They are now in debt of over $20,000 dollars and one of the neighbors recently passed away and they now have insufficient funds to have a proper funeral and burial. Please boycott this day spa because Sandy does not deserve any of our money. Please spread the word and yes, she is being reported to the Feds!

My mother and I both got our hair cut there during their back to school special. Our haircuts were on different days y different stylists and both of us are extremely unhappy with how our haircuts came out. I just asked for a shoulder length cut with layers and angled bangs. My hair is so uneven and there are lines with each layer. She also cut my bangs completely wrong and too short so there is no way of fixing them. I have been happier with my cuts and beauty schools and custom cuts. I thought because Glow was running a Special I would try them to get a more professional cut, but I was wrong. The staff is also very stuck up and make you feel uncomfortable. When my mom was asked where she usually got her hair done and she replied Custom Cuts. The employee stopped and looked at another employee and snickered. That was super rude. I definitely do not recommend going there. The servives are definitely not worth there expensive prices.

If you want a relaxing experience give them a try! I have been a client to scandals for many years now and have always been pleased. It hurts me even as a client to hear people trash talking the place that houses so many wonderful employees. Sure they may be negative "hireez" at times, but they sort them out! Then they are left with only the most loyal! Which is not only a benefit to them, but also to YOU!!! Think about it... if someones loves their job and is loyal to them they will be just as loyal to you as thier client and take pride in thier work. If some salon goers weren't so catty there would never be a bad thing said! I think the true problem of negativity resides in the person who holds the grudge long enough to write thier bad review. Its sad that it could actually make someone feel good to talk bad about something or someone! They are the real problem here! The salon is a must try!!!

While no one can argue that Scandals has had its fair share of problems, the company has perservered and has continued to offer stylists, massage therapists, estheticians and nail artists a place to grow their careers. It is unfortunate that while we all share a passion for the salon and spa industry, there are some that would set out to sabotage the careers of others because of a grudge that is held against ownership or management of a former employer.

The fact of the matter is, some of those "wonderful people" that were former friends and co-workers, deserve the chance to build a career for themselves at Scandals Day Spa, as others have been allowed in the past. No matter your thoughts on current owners or managers of the company, the careers of those still employed at Scandals Day Spa shouldn't be jeopardized.

I sincerely wish that those no longer working at Scandals Day Spa, no matter the reason, experience nothing but success in the future, and I only hope that they are now able to allow those still employed at Scandals, to experience the success that they deserve as well.

As for the concern regarding our "new and inexperienced" employees, I would like to point out that in our Esthetics department, we have a combined 29 years of experience in the industry, in the Nail Department, 37 years of experience, in the hair department, 20 years of experience and in the Massage department, over 12 years of experience. I hope this gives those that question the capabilities of the current staff at Scandals some ease that we are more than experienced and trained to handle all of your beauty needs.

It's really a shame that business makes people act this to each other. Scandals has been through some tough times, and yet we continue working to provide employment for a number of people in the industry that we love.

What I find so sad is when people leave a company, as we know happens all the time in the beauty industry, and start trash talking that company.

It makes sense that when you quit or get fired from a company you may hate the owner and/or manager, but what about your "FRIENDS" at that company? Do you not realize that while you are busy trying to put the hated owner out of business you are also jeopardizing your "FREINDS'" employment, and their ability to provide for their families?

I can say, as one of those hated managers, that I have NEVER told a lie to a guest, not that a person has moved out of town when they didn't, and not that we had problems with an employee when we didn't.

It would be nice if we could all just move on and build our careers in the new directions that we are all pursuing, and let those we've left behind do the same.

Don't know for sure what's going on there, but the product shelves are bare, people seem out of sorts and familiar faces keep disappearing. It appears now that the majority of their employees are new and inexperienced. For the money they charge I want experience and professionalism.

After spending three years of my life learning the craft of hair design, I was let go of my position because I refused to sign a contract that would prevent me from working in the area, and supporting my family. I have now overheard the management telling my guests over the phone while in my company, that they had a problem with me, makeing me sound horrible. other guests have phoned me to tell me that they said i quit.

Cant keep their stories straight, when the truth is that when you disagree with their business ethics, which I have kept my mouth shut for way to long, and speak up about being treated unfairly, YOU GET LET GO!!

But in all fairness, they did me the favor, because I can go back to doing what I LOVE!!!!

Talk about unprofessional. Twice, twice I dealt with this place. The first time was on a gift card, good service, manicure, but terrible customer service from everyone else. At one point someone left crying. Very confusing to see while trying to relax.

No big deal though since I was happy with my mani.

The next time I booked with the same girl only to figure out that she had moved on (which the girl on the phone sounded like she wasn't happy at that fact). So I booked with another young woman. Very expensive, but I like to find a routine.

I ended up waiting 30 minutes in the little receptionist area where apparently all the action goes down. I would say I was upset for the wait, but the entertainment kept the time flying. The older manager or whoever she may be, proceeded to hunt down almost every girl in the room, tearing into them. If you lost sight of her you could still hear little outbursts of anger and whimpers coming from the staff, it was downright frightening. I was in some weird drama film.

When I actually got my mani/pedi it was fine, but the girl doing it look like she just went through Hell and back.

The bottom line is that the place is a mess, the service is ok, but it is silly atmosphere with no sense of professionalism or customer service. Good for a cheap laugh, but for the price I would recommend steering clear of Scandals and avoid the embarrassment.

I love the pedicures. I have arthritis and it has become hard for me to reach my toes, This treatment makes me feel so relaxed and pampered. I just had my hair styled and highlighted, with excellent results. Scandals is not a bargain, but neither are they more expensive than my former salon. I notice some reviews complain that staff is snobbish or unfriendly, but please notice every one of the negative reviews is from 2005. Either there has been a turnover of staff or of attitude. I feel welcome at Scandals, and I enjoy going there.

I have been going to Natalie for about a year now. She is fantastic! Great hair cuts. VERY nice. Prices are outrageous. The first 3 times I walked out with a bill close to $200. One thing you have to be careful about is that they really push the products. You go to the counter to check out and there is something there that your stylist recommends. The first time I felt obligated to purchase, then I wised up. I got a manicure with a friend of mine and it was really, really, really, bad. They don't even soak your nails in water. They claim that they absorb the moisture and then the polish doesn't stick...hmm... My cuticles were not done well and my French manicure chipped the next day. I have never gone home and removed a French manicure within two days. I had even talked my friend into going out and pampering herself...usually, these are very relaxing. I was embarrased and felt bad that I talked her into it. My friend's polish had bubble spots in it and it didn't look like her cuticles had been touched. Needless to say, I am returning to my other place that charges you $20 instead of $55 and you get a fantastic job. Natalie is the only thing taking me back there. I highly recommend her!

I met Cara while she was still in school and will follow her across the country if I have to. My skin has never looked this good, and people are asking me if I lost weight or changed my hair. I barely even have to wear powder and foundation after one of her facials, and ever since she has opened my eyes to glycolic peels, I swear I see less wrinkles. She is so warm and sweet, keeps me informed about the best products for my skin, and is so well educated about makeup and skincare. I can't wait to have her make me beautiful for my wedding day.
Thank you Cara, you have a client for life!

I had heard much ado about Scandals as one of the premiere salons in the area, so when my assignment from my editor was to write a review, I was needless to say, excited....and then disappointed. It was not so much the services as the attitudes. Evidently they are aware of their reputation...and it has gone to their heads. So not to duplicate my article in full, I will keep this brief. My haircut was acceptable, my color was ok (although it is fading much quicker than I am used to, I believe they use a very popular and common American brand, as opposed to the far superior Italian which I am used to) and I had an above average massage. I simply sensed so much elitism and arrogance in the air from the time I arrived up until when I left and they tried to initiate an utterly ridiculous policy of scheduling a series of appointments for me over the course of several months. I was insulted by the assumption that they had been so fantastic that I would need to plan my year around them. I will leave you with this "at least my magazine footed the bill."

I have been going here for awhile now for peds and mans. The first girl I went to after years of working there is now at another spa. So I started going to Sarah and she's great!! That's the only great. I had my reg. appt and my babysitting didn't work out so I decided to bring my 5 yr old. That's the first time I ever brought her in over 2 yrs. I loaded her up with books and stuff to keep her busy till her dad would pick her up. Needless to say when I checked in I had such an attitude from the front desk girl. She asked if my daughter had an appointment and was so rude - she said that children should only be there if they have an appt. I told her to cancel my appt. She asked if I would like to reschedule. I told her NO. My daughter and I left and my 5 year old cried all the way home "because she couldn't go to the spa". I was so bothered by this that I called back up there and asked to speak to the manager or owner. THe girl on the phone told me that they weren't avaliable. I asked her to have one of them call me. Well it's been 2 mos and haven't heard from either. I am very disappointed that this is how they run their bussiness. I won't be going back.

I was just at Scandals Day Spa today using a gift certificate that I got for Mother's Day. I LOVED IT! The girl that did my facial was so informative about my skin that I ended up purchasing a package from her to come in for skin treatments for the next 8 months! The facial was so relaxing and I my pedicure was even better! I could have my feet rubbed all day long if someone would let me! I will definitely be going back...hopefully my hubbie will keep getting me gift certificates!

I just read a review by someone who said she would not go back to Scandals and I am thinking, huh, that's weird, I go there every month or so, and what she described is not like anything I've EVER experienced or seen there. I have my nails, hair and facials done there and I've always been treated very well. I love the atmosphere-everyone is very cordial and welcoming. It's a shame that this lady had such a bad experience there, but I personally won't stop going because of her reveiw.

I WENT INTO THIS SPA WITH A G.C. FOR A PEDICUE AND I WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED. THE GIRLS THAT WERE THERE WERE ALL TALKING TO EACH OTHER INSTEAD OF FOCUSING ON ME. MY MANICURISTS DIDNT EVEN TURN ON MY MASSAGE CHAIR OR ASK ME IF I WANTED ANYTHING TO DRINK. THE MASSAGE WAS POOR AND THE WHOLE PEDICURE WENT BY EXTREMLY FAST. I WAS 10 MINUTES LATE TO EVEN GET INTO THE CHAIR BC SHE WAS RUNNING LATE AND THEN I WAS DONE BEFORE MY HOUR WAS TO BE UP. NEEDLESS TO SAY I FELT VERY RUSHED AND MISTREATED. WHEN I PAY 50.00 FOR A PEDICURE I EXPECT TO BE PAMPERED AND TREATED VERY NICE. IT WAS NOT THE CASE HERE. NEXT TIME I WANT RED POLISH ALL OVER MY TOES I GUESS I WILL JUST STAY AT HOME AND DO IT MYSELF! GOOD GREIF!!

I walked in the door and felt the tension instantly. it seemed like everyone hated working there. My hair turned out amazing and i loved my stylist. but i had a small issue while paying and the situation was handled horribly. The manager openly yelled at the girl at the front desk, and then was rude to me. hmmm...maybe new management is an idea. i loved my hair but i dont think i'll be returning, i like my visits to be relaxing....what a shame

I went to Scandals about a month ago. I have never had so many compliments in my life on my hair. It really looks great. The only problem is it cost me 200 bucks. I would highly recommend Scandals to anyone who is vain enough to spend that kind of money on themselves. To everyone else... treat yourself once and then have someone else keep up the style for a more affordable price.

I seriously refuse to go anywhere but here for my hair. Crystal has done my color for me for about 2 years now and is AMAZING. If I have an emergency need I get worked in and if she is not available the rest of the staff goes out of their way to contact her to find out about my color and to make me feel at home. I would not trust anyone else to touch it.

In addition, the entire staff is so nice to talk to and always stops to catch up on my life.

They were very accomodating considering I had a gift certificate for one package but couldn't do it because I was pregnant. They let me use if for a pregnancy massage and haircut and it was wonderful. Too pricey for every month but good for special occasion.

I LOVE going to Scandals. They might cost a little more for things like pedicures but do an excellent job. My sons give me gift certificates for birthday or Christmas occasionally and I treasure them. It is a treat I wouldn't normally just buy for myself. The massages are also superb. My husband and I went in for a couples massage once and really enjoyed that! I'd highly recommend it.

PROS: very relaxing and enjoyable
CONS: little pricey

This was an anniversary gift to ourselves. This was a very affordable and beyond excellent couples massage. The relaxing room was lovely. The massage room was comfortable and the therapists -- Matt and Chrissy -- were amazing!
We'll probably buy a package.

Scandals Day Spa is a nice little retreat in the heart of Oakville. They have a full range of services available including packages to allow you to have a spa day. Along with the regular "adult" services like spa manicures, pedicures, massages, etc...they offer a special menu designed for teens! For a lower price, your teen can enjoy much of the same treatments for a price you won't gasp at!

Their gift certificates are a perfect gift for anyone!

I like this place for massages and just general pamper treatments because of the full range of services offered from massages to haircuts. Of particular significance is the rating system used to rate the people working there. I've always found the staff friendly and helpful and the prices are about average.

THis was definitely on of the nicer salons that I've been to. I went on a Saturday and it was sooo crowded. The front staff wasn't very friendly, but the guy who did my pedicure was really nice. The prices were a little high for their location. I doubt that I'll go back here.

I enjoyed the more "peaceful setting" at the spa. Scandals Day Spa was referred to me by a friend and I can understand why she raved about it.I would recommend this for anyone that is having a hard time deciding what to do for a bachelorette party or just for fun.The people there were nice, and it was really like a community, we were chatting with each other and the employees. I would highly recommend this spa to anyone who is interested in some serious relaxation.

They do a good job but if you shop around you can get the same for a better price. The people that work there tend to think they are better than the customers too. They used to be much friendlier and it seemed more appealing now I am almost embarrassed to go there because of their rude behavior.

I've been to this spa for two separate girls pampering days, and had a great experience both times. The massages and pedicures were wonderful. Services are a little pricey, but it was worth it for a clean spa and friendly service.

Their pedicures are well worth the price (around $50). The price varies depending on what type of pedicure you get. I had the basic one. It is soooo relaxing. They offer you drinks and magazines to read while you soak your feet in a warm foot bath. The manicurist who did my pedicure was very nice. They give you a great leg massage. The polish they used lasted a really long time too. If you go...make sure you wear sandals (so your polish doesn't smudge) and shorts or pants you can push up past your knees. They offer gift certificates if you want to give a great gift to someone.

My sister and I made appointments for our first ever visit to a spa. We were pleasantly surprised with the services we received. We had facials, pedicures, manicures and haircuts and we were pleased with all. More recently, we took our mother there for her birthday (also her first visit to a spa) and she enjoyed a facial as well. We will certainly choose this spa when we decide to have another "Girls' Day Out" again!

Scandals is a great place for a day of beauty, whether it be for a massage, haircut and style, manicure, pedicure, or facial. The staff is friendly and really caters to the customers. The hairstylists have a rating system to tell clients how much studying they've done so you always know how experienced your hairstylist is.

Prices are also very reasonable and competitive with other spas in the area. It's also fairly easy to schedule an appointment.

I went here with my sister and got a pedicure. I had a gift certificate and probably won't go back because of the prices. The pedicure was O.K., but definitely not worth what they charge for it. If I would have actually paid for it instead of using my gift certificates, I think i would have been a lot more disappointed.

PROS:
CONS: too pricey

I went to Scandals for a pedicure, and it was really good. My girl worked on me for a full hour, which is a big difference than the 30 minute pedicures I've had other places. And the foot massage was the best part. The people there were nice, and it was really like a community, with all of the other people getting pedicures chatting with each other and the employees. I really liked the place and I would be inclined to go back again.

I found Scandals Day Spa's web site when I was looking for a place to get a massage while I was in St. Louis this summer. Their web site was easily accessible, and it gave me all the information I needed. When I arrived for my massage I fell in love with the place. It is so pretty inside and everyone was so nice. I had the best massage I've ever had that day. So good, in fact, that I asked in I could get a facial while I was there. Luckily, they had an opening...it was as good as the massage! My mom and sister live in St. Louis, and I know what they're getting for Christmas from now on!

I had the Scandals Signature Facial, and I loved it! They used the Astara products, which I saw on an old Rosie O'Donnell show, and they are all different colors to do different things for the skin. When I was finished, my skin was so smooth, I couldn't believe it!

I have been to spas all over the place, but this one is unbelievable! It looks like a Swiss Chalet from the outside, but when you go in, it's a HUGE, beatiful, relaxing day spa! I had a massage (wonderful!), a European Facial (I felt 5 years younger!) and a spa pedicure (ok, I was a complete noodle when I left!).
I did have to book my Saturday appointment about a week in a half in advance, but it was well worth the wait! I would highly recommend this spa to anyone who is interested in some serious relaxation!

I was so pleased with my last minute massage appointment, the staff was so friendly, the "serenity room" was a perfect place to relax before my appointment. And my the therapist listened to what ailed my body and read my body to give me true relief from a migraine. I would imagine whatever ailed you, relief could be found at Scandals. Their staff is wonderful, the facility is top notch and the pricing was enough to bring me back again!
