I was referred to Sallas Auto Repair by a good friend of mine. All I can tell you, is that you will NEVER find a more honest group of people to do business with EVER! These people are as thorough in their explanation to you about what needs to be repaired and why, and they will also show you class and consideration in their descriptions of your cars' problems. They pointed out problems with my car during their 52 point check on my vehicle that my GM dealership never mentioned once, example being a broken right front sway bar, that was completely cracked and rusted through. Sometimes, I think people mistake thoroughness, with upselling. It's kind of like going to a doctor for some physical ailment, and he checks you out and tells you to " take two aspirin, and call me in the morning". You then decide to get a second opinion, and doctor number two finds a malignant growth, that could lead to your imminent death, and tells you various approaches that you can consider to help you to get better. These guys follow the regimen of doctor number two. If you follow their recommended guidlines for the care and maintenance of your vehicle, you will have a car that will provide years of enjoyment, without you getting surprised with a $1000 repair bill all of a sudden, because you were never given the opportunity to have preventive maintenance done on your car so it wouldn't act up. These guys are nothing but a class act, and you can take that to the bank. Remember when President Reagan said "the fish rots from the head down"? At Sallas Auto Repair, nothing "rots", because Nick Sallas (the company owner) never lets the "rot" get in the picture. If you EVER have a problem with one of his repairs, he WILL take the means to see that it is resolved to your complete satisfaction. Show me how many businesses will go the "extra mile" to make sure that your total satisfaction is guaranteed? And NO, I am in no way related to this companys' owner, or anyone in their employee. I'm a small business owner myself, who treats my clients the same way Mr. Sallas does. That's the "key", to doing a great business and getting referrals from your clients. Referrals are what build a business. You will definitely refer a friend or relative to Sallas Auto Repair. That, my fellow man, you can take to the bank!!

I've been taking my car here over the past year or so and have been exceptionally pleased. I've had the typical awful experiences many women suffer through over the past 7 years I've lived in KC and Sallas defies the odds. They've always been respectful and my problems with my old beater car haven't returned, like the O2 sensors, brake noises, leaking tire, etc.. The prices were fair to me as the issues were always resolved & they explained everything thoroughly but not in a way in which I felt talked-down to. I'm happy & willing to pay extra to understand exactly what the problem was, how it was fixed & how to, if possible, avoid it in the future. I so recommend this place that I've had friends bring in their vehicles & tried to get my mom to drive down from Iowa to bring her car here.

My wife took her vehicle in for a check engine light. the shop she said was nice. My complaint is that she said the service man talked down to her and was a bit of a jerk. As I was told by her they also told her about other services that needed to be completed, not recommended. And those services were just completed on her vehicle when I took it to the shop I go to regularly. That is extremely dishonest in my opinion. The check engine light came back on shortly after they tested and repaired it for I think around $400-$500 w/ the check out. I took her car to my regular shop and they retested and fixed it for less money (the same code, not something different) and its been fine since. Her and I will NEVER go back there and we will tell everyone we know about the problems she had there. Would not recommend this facility. And when you charge as much as they do and try to sell everything else on the vehicle, most people probably say do it. Thats why they can afford a nice shop in my opinion.

How do you determine that a shop pads the bill maybe you should teach them how to run a successful shop. PS learn to use spell check. Please understand a business must make a profit, and is nice to be informed of what your car needs to stay in good shape?

My daughter took her 2004 Camry in for diagnosis and repair. I assisted her because she knows very little about a car. Eric was my service advisor. He was very professional in his explanations and gave me options to fit my daughter's budget. The bearing noise is gone and her brakes work wonderfully again. I thank God for an automotive shop like Sallas Automotive, one you can trust. It was her first visit there, and they have earned a loyal customer.

I have been a customer of Sallas Automotive for years. It is so nice knowing I can rely on them to be honest and give me their very best recommendations. I attended their 'Women's Clinic' and they give you the knowledge to take care of your car so you will not get taken advantage of. I think their pricing is fair. I have recommeded them to many of my friends.
PROS: They customize their service to help you with your specific problem.
CONS: None.

Service was performed quickly and the repair was fine.
Shop is nice and clean, employees are pleasant but a little smirky. They will try to pad the bill with add ons, and they cannot justify the labor times that they use. I am in the auto repair industry and have access to the labor guide times, and they charge more than the recommended times, but its been my experience that almost every mechanic does even when you call them on it.
PROS: Convienent location, easy access from 71hwy. Clean fenced in shop.
CONS: Youll pay a little extra, thats why they can afford the nice shop.
