My child has been going to Class Act for about 2 years and she has learned alot from it. There has been times she was intimidated and did not want to go back in her class because she could not get the stunt down, but Shawn was VERY helpful and helped me to ease her back in to class. They are very friendly there and are awesome about siblings being there to watch. I can say some of the teachers may not be as interactive as others, but my daughter HAS done wonderfully with all of the instructors and reacts well to all of them. She can be stubborn at times, but the teachers do there best with making each child feel welcome and comfortable!! GREAT JOB CLASS ACT!! I would give a 4 1/2.

I tried another gym before this one. What a mistake!! This teacher/owner was very nice, and helpful and showed me what to do, explained what he wanted to do for the class, how to use stuff. When I first called to ask if I could watch a class, they said they would be glad to have me. I am one of those moms that worries about the cleanliness of a place, and have no issue here. It was nice and clean. There is a lot for my toddler to do. Does she learn how to do flips off the balance beam yet? Nope she does just what a toddler should be learning, how to have fun and the basic stuff. There was music and the atmosphere was great, and the other moms friendly, They do not charge an enrollment fee. It is truelly free. Try this gym and you won't need to find anywhere else.

There is a gym for everybody in this area. Class Act may be right for you. There is a coupon on this website for you to try 2 classes for free. Most gyms in the area will let you try a class for free. As you can see from these reviews, some people love Class Act and others hate it. My family's experience was somewhere in between. My children now go to another gym but it wasn't because we hated Class Act. It was simply because another gym happened to be a better fit for my most advanced child. I would encourage parents to try ALL of the gyms in the area once before making a final decision.

PROs - Owners are nice
Some instructors are good

CONs - usually pretty dirty
some instructors are useless

My family went to Class Act for a birthday party several months ago. The owners and their children were very nice to my family. The gym was amazing, the best I've ever seen in this area. I was very impressed with the entire business and look forward to my daughter learning gymnastics with these wonderful people!!!

Class Act is family ran, and provides that family atmosphere as if you are joining a part of a family. The staff is friendly and warming. The buildings are perfectly adequate for the training and recreation. The prices are very reasonable.
The only thing I think could be better, is the classes could be organized so that you could have your child in 2 back to back activities on the same day like gymnastics age 8 class should precede or follow the dance 8 yr class etc. Currently these classes overlap in time on the same day or you have to schedule different days altogether. My family enjoys this place very much. Thank you Class Act

I haven't been to the Jackson gym, but Shawn came to Shooting Stars in Perryville to sub for our tumbling coach and I was more than impressed. He showed our class numerous techniques that I've been able to use since and have progressed faster than I would have without them. I have been to a few gyms throughout the years and with quite a few coaches and I personally think that Shawn is one of the best teachers I have had. Anyone can spot a back handspring, but he goes beyond that.

In response to the previous review. We are the only place offering two free trial classes to all new customers for a reason - people who actually come here like us. We have never had a Jackie l attend here. Would my competition please try and find a different, more ethical way to build their business.

I am a high school cheerleader, and all i wanted was 1 simple round off back handspring pass which i could do on the gym floor by myself 2 years ago before a arm injury, after 3 privates with the owner, costing almost 100$, i was told to spend most of my time stretching and working on the basics when they were paid to reteach that pass as quickly as possible also i am pretty in shape but the owner Sean insisted on constant "breaks" which i felt were more for him than me when he was on his but most of the time except for a couple times where he spotted me and one example.... also the springboard was uneven and had places feeling like potholes under the cheap looking carpet, the whole gym really looks trashy and unclean and unsafe... other staff members are also unprofessional...also very bad at answering the phone...called 6 times at 4 different days before i got through

Response from this business:

Who are you? Call me. We have never had a Jackie l attend our gym. Some of what you say in your review is true. For example during a private lesson I do make my students take breaks as required by USA gymnastics for safety purposes. Much of what you said makes little to no sense. By the way we do take things slowly to make sure kids don't get hurt. We operate the safest gym you will find anywhere. By the way if you tried calling 6 times 4 different days - next time try leaving a message.

When our old gym closed I went here to look things over as a possible replacement. It is very dirty and you go to the owners home to use the bathroom. You had to park in one of the buildings. We have found another place that is extremely clean and very well run!!!

Response from this business:

Sorry your old gym closed Our facility has come a long way. It is true we did have to invite people in to our home to use the restrooms while we were under construction - glad that's behind us !!!
.

The facility was large & is supposed to eventually "be" something. My toddler participated in their program and was not taught anything. In a nut shell it had a high student to teacher ratio, an uninterested coach and frankly a poor facility. I am a former gymnast and could teach her more in my living room...in fact I have. The coach never even re-directed her when she roamed about aimlessly. It was all I could do not to run out there and help the teacher. Luckily we didn't sink too much money into this place. We've since found an alternative facility.

PROS: Friendly owners
CONS: Not much effort into proper instruction

Response from this business:

Thank you for the friendly owners comment. Our teachers are some of the best in the country...check our website for credentials. www.classactfamilyfitness.com We are the only gym in the history of Southeast Missouri to send a girl to USA gymnastics level 10 national championships. The fact that we did not re-direct your child is because we like to keep the road to excellence fun !!!
