I only gave one star as I cannot give zero. This company is horrible and gives horrible customer service. There have been three instances where they have failed to pick up our trash and/or our recycling. The person that stated above that people may have not been paying their bill, you are assuming wrong. We pay our bill in advance quarterly so that most of the time we are carrying a credit balance. Our cans are supposed to be out by 6AM. On trash day, I set my alarm to get up earlier than usual to put them out a 5:30 as I do not like to leave them out overnight as if it storms or is windy can blow the lids up and blow refuse around the neighborhood. On the most recent instance, the cans were put out side by side at 5:30, when I returned home that evening the trash container was empty, but the recycling bin was still full to the top. I called the next morning and was told that someone would be out that day to pick it up. They did not. I called again the next day and was told it could take 24-48 hours for them to schedule a pick-up. I returned home to find it still full to the top. I was fortunate enoough to get home from work before their office called and was told they would pick it up the next day for sure. That day is tomorrow, I have doubt it will happen. This company receives a tax credit for their "services". Let me add I live in a subdivison and they managed to pick up all of my neighbors trash and recyling.

I've had very good service with these folks in Franklin County. Reasonably priced, consistent pickup. They missed pickup yesterday, possibly due to the freezing rain. I called a little while ago to ask them to pickup today, and a truck was here within 15 minutes to get my trash and my neighbor's.

I personally think that IESI does a fantastic job and have had absolutely no problems at all! I've read a recent article that stated they purchased Crown Excel Disposal and the Fred Weber landfill near Riverport for $159 million (cash)! They must be doing something right!! I think that 99.9% of the people complaining, DON'T PAY THEIR BILLS! THE GRAMMER USED, DOESN'T HELP WITH MY OPINION EITHER! Computers check for that stuff these days. Find something worth while to complain about or go get a job!!

I recently cancelled my service with IESI due to the competitor being considerably CHEAPER. When I called to cancel my service they said they could NOT prorate my bill. No where on my intial contract does it say that no refunds will be given. So in other words I am screwed out of the money that I paid for a service that is outrageously priced to begin with. So I went on their site to investigate further and under the philosophy tab it is stated and I quote " IESI takes great pride in satisfying our customers and making a difference in the communities we serve." What a joke !!!! If they were so prideful in satisfying their customers I believe a refund would be the first step in achieving this goal.

They gave me a 'polycart' which is a little bit bigger than a trash can. if the wind blows at more than 20 mpm, the lid will flung open and trash scatters all over. They charge $49 per month for this trash can. they are scheduled to come on Fridays, but if it rains or bad weather, they skip. We had 2 consecutive months that they skip. They contract is absolutely ripping customer off and totally unfair to customers.

I use to work for a waste company that IESI bought. We were not perfect and being in solid waste hauling service things happen. Generally our service was better than competition and employees were happier before IESI. Since we were bought by IESI moral is horriable and level of service is poor. They treat the employees poorly and with low moral people don't want to go the extra mile. I haven't seen all my compensation in 2 months, so I left. Other employees were promised this or that and never seen it. They just don't care about workers which is most important part of the business. Happy drivers and mechanics makes great service. You won't see that at IESI.

Yes, watch out for the contracts they are 5yr service agreement with 5yr renewel. Basically it is a 10 year service agreement and they can go up on you as they please. You won't see a price decrease unless you complain and threaten to leave cancel their service. Then they will try to say you owe 6 months service. I bet if you check your contract most are not filled out correctly anyway and you can probably get out of it. 9 out of 10 times if you cance your service during the contract period they will threaten you, but is it worth them taking you to court? If your service is poor document it and complain by letter and then cancel after document your complaints to office with a certified letter. You can usually get our of a service agreement due to documented poor service.

Yesterday after no yard waste pick up on Monday, I watched the driver mix all my yard waste and solid waste in his truck and turn on the muncher machine to chop it all up together. What is the purpose of buying yard bags and bundling the wood and sorting the trash if the company just mixes it anyway? Is this common practice? Lazy workers? So much for going green...........what a sad environmental joke? Where is the common sense? I have been waiting for a call back from management but am still waiting..........

Terrible company, even worse customer service.

We ordered the additional Friday pick-up. They missed 3 pick-ups in a row. I called multiple times and their staff promised the pick-up would happen.

After I canceled the pick-up, I tried to talk to a manager. So far, they have been "out". I've been promised 4 times that a manager will call me, and no one has.

I wrote a letter to the district manager and called Des Peres City Hall to complain, but I will not let up until I speak to a manager. I was going to call Cindy Lewis but apparently she's terrible, too? Maybe I should just drive down there and camp out until a manager agrees to talk to me. They are awful.

Watch what you sign with IESI Trash service. They tell you to sign an agreement to pick up your trash, but they don't tell you its a 5 year contract, that you can not get out of. Then they raise your rates with fuel surcharge and additional landfill fees! This is how they do business, tricking people and not disclosing fine print. You would think that they would want to earn you business.

This company is a joke, they have hauling divisions down south in texas that suck. There rates and fuel surcharge continue to go up as there service declines. they attempted to lease me a can and change my service to once a week from two. that was the last straw, then switched to WM.

I'm not sure if you guys are talking about the same IESI that I use. IESI has never missed a pick up. I have even seen my driver go out of his way to pick up trash that they didn't drop on multiple occasions. It's not really fair to judge all of them because there is a few lazy route drivers! I enjoy IESI..

This company sucks a$$. They didn't pick our trash up although we had paid our bill. I think they should have at least given us a credit or something. Our experience with Meridian was so much better and I REALLY miss them.

hi i live at 9114 trefere ave and i am complaining of our trash not being picked up on friday . I called twice and the lady said it would be picked up and it was never taken care of. i would like it to be picked up as soon as possible thanks. It is overflowing and we have no where to put trash. and that can be a bit of a problem.

The St. Louis County has locked us into the poor costumer service company and there is nothing we can do about it. The bad part about this is IESI knows that we can complain all we want but until there contact is up we can not do anything about it. Wait and see when there contact is almost up the service will improve.

Something is seriously wrong with this program: IESI's trash collectors are seriiously lacking--I am not sure if it is information or common sense. Even though our name was added to IESI's special pickup list because our trash was missed 3 consecutive times last month, our trash was still missed this morning. The need to deal with this company is both frustrating and unbelievable!

I am in complete agreement with the unfavorable reviews of this horrible company. The customer service is non-existent and we have had to fight with them to pick our old trash can up - it took over 3 months!! When we first purchased our home a little over a yr ago, a co-worker who was not able to choose their trash removal was jealous that we could. Now I understand why! The county officials who took away our rights to pick our own trash co should be very afraid at re-election time!!!

I am so disgusted with this trash company. They throw your trash cans and lids in the street and leave trash that they dropped in the street. The people that are working for them are too lazy to pick up the mess they leave on the ground. I hate this company and would love to hire someone else but the county government has taken that right away from us. I would never recommend this company to anyone and I intend to keep the elected officials who made this stupid decision in mind when it comes time for their re-election and I urge everyone that is unhappy with this hauler to do the same. This is the worst trash pickup company I've ever had - mainly because they DON'T pick it up. I've NEVER HEARD of a trash company not working in inclement weather. In St. Louis, that could be quite often. I've had two cans of yard debris (branches of broken tree limbs from the freeze and wind) in the front all week. I'm paying EXTRA for YARD pickup but no pickup. Last week it was the snow and no trash pickup for days - they were CLOSED. What happens when we have 100 degree or more weather in the summer - are they going to be closed???? I'm afraid it's going to stink around here and the trash will draw lots of insects. Lets nip it in the bud and get rid of them now. In 16 years here, I have NEVER had this problem before.

It is obvious that St. Louis County has nothing better to do than make up a trash collection monopoly. When the out-of-state, low-bid government contractor rolls into town, and there are no alternatives, the service will naturally fall to intolerable levels. As is mentioned in other postings, customer service has not solved the problem. And so we wait another day for a missed pickup. When I paid more for service, at least they showed up. Wait until government takes over health care, energy use and car production. We will be driving golf carts down the sidewalk to the band-aid stand. How about putting your efforts toward police patrols instead of trash control?

I work in customer service and all our calls are recorded it's obvious that none of theirs are. I've been hung up on and spoken to horribly in broken english and all types of things. Huh,naw, and yeah should never be used on a professional call. We moved out of their area 6mths ago and they refuse to take our name off the account and the supervisor Cindy Lewis refused to give me the number to their corporate office. She told me I had to go online to get it and offered no reason as to why she wouldn't give it to me. SHe acted like a kid and simply kept saying "I don't give that out, I don't give that out". She repeated that phrase over and over. This is the worst company cust service I've ever encountered.

IESI is not a good company. They are not customer friendly, they open up late and closed early. Atleast they could have a recording stating "if you want to paid your bill press here" - you can't get in touch with anyone before 8:a.m. or after 4:30. I am a tax paying person, I should have a right to choose.

This company needs to go back where they can from.

Im also very unhappy with the service pervided. For the past week I have been trying to pay my bill by phone and I all I hear is " all circuits are busy now please call back." Now I have in the mail from them that I have a past due account. The company hasn't pick up the trash can as promise. I would like waste management back, at least I wasn't charged for having the trash can.

Yard waste has not been picked up yet - 5 pick up dates missed. When I call, I'm on hold up to 30 minutes. When they do answer, they are "sorry for the inconvenience and we'll make sure it gets picked up". My address even got placed on a "special list" and the driver would be sure to get it picked up. All LIES.

Thank you, St. Louis County, for taking away our right to choose and deciding for us what is in our best interest.

I am a former midwest waste customer. I live in dist 8 which means
my waste service now belongs to IESI. I called Midwest to see if they would pickup their trash can.I was informed that Allied waste
bought Midwests trash cans. Now who do I contact to get rid of this
can?? Good luck I was last #206 in line for IESI and couldnt get a
human to answer at Allied. Anybody else in this situation and how
to fix it.

I am sorry to say that i am very displeased with their pick ups. First of all i just relocated and was told IESI would not be doing my route after 3 months so was forced to pay 3 months ahead off= time and that was only the beginning, I then had to call every week for the next 6 weeks to have them pick up the next day as a courtesy because they missed my house.. And the unanswered messages i have left trying to get some answers from their supervisors were very nerve wrecking. i am so frustrated and feel that they are very unprofessional..trust me and do not use them !

I too have had trouble with IESI picking up our recycling. For the first month I had to call repeatedly to get it picked up. I even left a voicemail for one of their executives after the customer service rep told me that their reps are frustrated too. Then for 2 weeks they picked up my recycling on the correct day.
Yesterday they did not pick it up. I called this morning and I am supposed to get a "courtesy" pick up today. I doubt it will happen. I can't recommend IESI and I would like to hear if others in South County could recommend a good trash hauler/recycler.

When we contacted them, both times they offered a "courtesy pick up" the following Wednesday. How can they call it a "courtesy" to pick up my trash 5 days late? My recycling has yet to be picked up at all. We have put it out with our regular trash on Fridays. When it was never collected, we called to inquire and complain last Thursday 5/22/08. We were promised a pick up on Friday 5/23/08. On Friday at 3:30 when the pick up still hadn't happened, we called and were promised the truck was on it's way. No pick up took place. We left a message on Monday 5/26/08 and our call was returned on Tuesday 5/27/08. We were promised at that time a pick up would definitely occur on Wednesday 5/28/08. At 3:30 Wednesday 5/28/08 there had still not been a pick up. When I called the person there said "well they will probably get it on Saturday" 5/31/08. When I explained our situation, I was promised a pick up later that day. No pick up occurred. I tried to call and leave a message later that day but the answering machine disconnected me.

I hate to think of this company or any company being awarded a contract based on a low bid. Who cares how low the bid is when basic service is NOT BEING PROVIDED. I think it is grossly unfair to Saint Louis Citizens that they will no longer have any recourse in dealing with a trash company who does not meet their contractual arrangements, is not truthful in their communications with customers, and fails to provide basic trash service.

I'm having a terrible time getting my recycles picked up. I've had to call them about every other week because no one comes. This week I called Friday morning because no one came Thursday. I was told they would come Friday. Now it is Saturday and my recycles are still sitting out at the curb.

We have lots of trash companies picking up garbage in our subdivision but we use IESI because they are consistent, reliable and neat. On windy days we need to dodge trash cans and lids throughout the neighborhood but IESI sets the cans back on end in your driveway and they rarely roll away.

Their customer service is very good. If you have a question or concern they respond very quickly and leave you feeling satisfied.
