If it weren't for the over crowded dining rooms, this might be a jolly good place to lunch at! The food was basically good. But what I'm wanting to know is why I have to tip a woman who really doesn't do anything...it is a buffet after all.

A typical buffet/smorgasbord/all-you-can-eat scenario where the herd files in and consumes mass quantities.

Considering the price it is an excellent deal, especially if you can consume mass quantities and it appears that most of the bellowing human herd regularly consumes massive amounts of calories and does so frequently.

Even if you imbibe a more "normal" amount of food and are not forced to waddle or ride your mobile motorized scooter-thing to propel your immense multiple fat folds across the floor the edible offerings at this buffet are tasty enough to make eating a mere plate or two a delightful event.

Oh, sure. Perhaps if you are one of those culinary snobs who view any meal not created by some chef-type self-important jerk at a jacked-up price far far far beyond the foods' cost with the foods price to the customer nearing the, to me, stratospheric level, you may turn your nose up at the more "basic" comestibles served in the buffet/smorgy board manner but to heck with you.

I reveled in the luscious real mashed potatoes Golden Corral allowed me to pile upon my plate.

The pot roast was/is so wondrously tasty!!!! Tender to the extreme!!! And the gravy surrounding the meat is also delightful.

Brown and white gravy present for plopping atop anything you wanna' add gravy to. I especially like the white/milk gravy.

Lunch costs less, dinner costs more but dinner has more offerings but lunch is fine for me.

Some offerings are standards and always available. Others rotate, check their on-line menu AND call on the day you want to visit to ascertain what goodies will await thee.

The local place typically has 3 or so Chinese-type food offerings and there's usually at least one of them I like.

Several fish-types; fried and baked. TO cut calories I usually munch upon the oven baked non-breaded fish.

Ample veggies with the broccoli and cauliflower my favorites.

A well-stocked salad bar also allows ample opportunity to "veg out" and ensure your body obtains some decent nutrition.

If only more of the masses, the massive masses, whose bulk is costing society (taxpayers) so much to counteract the many negative effects of filling that gaping maw in their face with a constant stream of comestibles and horrendous amounts of calories would shovel in some veggies vice the calorie-dense not-as-healthy grub all of us would be better off.

On the plus side; if thou art only slightly overweight you will look mighty fine when standing or sitting in close proximity to the human "blimps" so I suppose that is something to be thankful for.

I do recommend you refrain from approaching any of the HUGE blimp-like fellow diners and thanking them for being such huge bloated sow-like waddling mounds of fat.

Oh, there are various biscuits/bread types and a well-stocked desert area including the generic fake ice milk? Doesn't taste like ice cream but its good enough for me.

I tend to grab a small amount of one of the warm deserts. That apple cobbler? if that's the proper term, is not overly sweet and it good with a dollop of ice milk atop it. The same with the peach stuff akin to the apple stuff.

Oh gosh, there's just so many goodies available!!!!! And the workers are friendly and helpful.

I never purchase a drink so as to save some money. Water is free if wanted.

I always tip the waitress/waiter a buck for general principal. They sure appreciate it!!!!!!!

For health reasons brought on by aging I had to lose some weight. Hard to do but it can be done.

One way is to make fewer trips to the smorgasbord and, when there, to eat less in general and take larger portions of the lower calorie healthier grub such as veggies.

But, every few months, I make the journey during the lunch period and stand in rapt admiration of the food sitting there, calling out to me, eager to sate my culinary desires.

Thank you, food. Thank you Golden Corral.

There's another Golden Corral on the other side of town on Kansas Expressway and though it is similar in many ways to the Primrose Street location my subjective opinion is that the food is slightly better at the Primrose location and the facility at Primrose is a wee bit cleaner though I would not actually avoid the other place though I almost always head for the Primrose outlet.

Happy munching, Herd.
