Tish saved my new puppie with parvo. A week later I had to have my 12 yr. old heeler (Dingo) put down due to age and kidney failure. The staff was so caring and I didn't catch the name of the man who helped carry him in, thank you so much.I will see all of you in a couple of weeks for spayiing my new baby. My old buddy will be missed. Thanks again. Bev

Today my 2 cats got a total of 8 shots, a topical cream, de-worming medicine, and city licenses, all for just $104. Without Angels, I would not have been able to afford the care they needed.

Angel Vets really are wonderful! We had an emergency situation with our cat and they got her in immediately, got her caught up on her shots and antibiotics for a very reaonable rate! We were so impressed with the quality care and the affordability that we will be back for all of our vet needs!

I have been to angels vet express numerous times and they are awesome and when issues have come up they are always willing to work with you and give excellant care to all my animals. once i had a small dog i took in w parvo and it cost me 66.00 I went home with the iv and gave all the meds and nausia medicine and everything i needed and then just recently my shi tzu was attacked by a pit pull and jaw was broken...they didnt exray because a dog dosnt sit still but put dusty on pain meds and the entire visit was 32.00 and quality of life verses queantity was a very important issue and after we realized he had the will and at 10 might now have made it thru a surgery that any other vet I feel would have pushed on me so today dusty is blind with cataracts and stragly toothed but healthy as a horse and other than bloodwork that cost 0.00 but told me he was healthy and worth every penny I paid for him since he is akc registered and still a stud and just recently got my female 2 year old shitzu pregnant.....I love Angels and they even spade and neuter at humaine society of atchison weekly to help keep the animal population down as people are not getting their animals fixed as they should```````````````````````````````````!I appreciate everything they do for me and hope to work with them and volunteer my time as I can!!!!!also mashoogies is awesome too and any donations I am sure would be appreciated...by the way I drive over an hour to go to them and will continue as long as they are around! thanks for all you do!!!!!You guys are the bomb!!!!

I have a Great Dane "Sam" he is my heart! I had adopted him from a family who lived out on a farm. Around 6 months old he contracted parvo and he was very very ill. "The reason why you have to wait outside" with your pet is because Parvo is very contagious and they have other customers pets that are inside the facility that may contract it, and they come outside to you! Angels took Sam in and keep in mind this was on a Saturday and it was an emergency! Sam was admitted and treated and when I came to pick him up he was back to his old self again! They helped me in a time of urgency and it was well under 200.00! This past friday Sam was attacked by what they said to be a bigger dog. His leg was severly bleeding and broke Friday night at 9pm i tried to call local st joe vet er's but they all said the same thing. " we cant treat him if he is not our own" then they all referred to call Angels! So being that sam was already a patient at Angels I called the ER number and she anserwed on the first ring! She called the emergency vet and 30 minutes later Sam was being treated. The facility is NOT dirty it is very sterile. very clean! They are low cost because the people who work there are "ANIMAL LOVERS"! The x-ray the wraps and the total ER bill were 300.00 dollar including the antibiotics and pain medication. She even gave me some pain meds to cover the weekend. Im not a millionaire by anymeans and my husband is unemployed and we have little money. These folks are so awesome that they take payments to what you can afford to pay them at a time like this that really helps and my Sam is at home alive and well and is being treated correctly by licensed vet and nurses. I encourage you to take your pet there! It is the best by far!

I've taken my dogs to Angel's since we first found out about them. When we first moved to Atchison I found Vet bills to be OUTRAGEOUS! We fell upon hard times but our dogs still needed care. It's true that Angel's once used to be a little dirty but they've remodeled and it's a very nice small clinic. Yes, they have a lot of volunteers but EVERYONE cares immensely for the animals they treat (which I may say are quite a variety) as they are also an animal rescue facility and NEVER EVER turn away an animal. My dogs have all done fine under their care but if you are looking for a vet that will send you friendly reminders as to when you need your shots, this isn't the place for you...their cost is low because they only pass along the cost of the care required for the dog NOT the Vet's hourly cost. Donations are always accepted and very gratefully taken as they have some 200 dogs ready for adoption on most any given day. It's disappointing that they have had to cut back their hours but they can only afford so many vets to care for the animals and mornings are generally reserved for surgeries. All services are on a first come-first served basis but I've never had to wait more than 45 minutes which I normally have to do at a regular vet anyway. The only dealings I've ever seen in the parking lot revolve the 5 cats they have as pets making friends with everyone that comes in and the staff taking a break on a slow day...other than that, I've never seen any of them sitting down, let alone caring for animals in any unprofessional manner. They are top notch in my book and I proudly give them 5 stars!!!

When my dog was diagnosed with a heart-worm at his regular vet, she said it would cost close to $1000 to treat it... then offered no payment plans, etc... I'm a grad student and that just wasn't going to be able to happen. I volunteered at a local shelter and met a woman who told me about AVE (Mshoogy's!). I called them and found out they would charge me only $198. Of course I was terrified, but I love my baby and had to get him treated. We recently had it done and I can say nothing but great things about these people. They are all animal lovers *obviously* and take their job seriously. I didn't see any animals getting surgeries in the parking lot or any of that nonsense (it's common practice for many places to do mass vaccinations in non-clinic areas, it's not a bad thing). They were sweet to my dog, and gave me all the info I needed for follow up care. The facility is much bigger than I thought it would be, and has a cute, country vibe to it. It's not a modern high tech hospital but I was as comfortable as I was ever going to be leaving my dog overnight. I want to thank them so much and will continue to support their amazing work. WORTH THE DRIVE.

When I took Hartlee to my regular vet, I found out she had a heartworm. My vet informed me they charge around $350 for the complete treatment. Someone recommends Angel's in Savannah, Mo so I called them. They told me the complete treatment included antibiotics and a before and after test as well as the overnight stay after the treatment. The gave me specific instructions how to care for Hartlee during the month after her treatment. She did great! I took her back two months later and the heartworm test was negative. The cost? Only $88 for everything!! They were very professional, specific and kept cost at a minimum. Now I take both my dogs and cat to them for their yearly checkup and buy my heartworm and flea medication from them. The waiting room is a little cramped and the treatment rooms were small, but not more than usual. The kennels were very clean and they were particular in their care.

Anita J gives a bunch of credit to Angel's and Dr. Kimber for saving Hank's life but she's the one who saved Hank's life.

Anita knew Hank was ADR (ain't doin right)....heading into a holiday weekend many folks would have taken a wait and see attitude and attended to holiday duties like shopping, cooking, cleaning the house because relatives were coming...but Anita set aside holiday duties and took her Hank to the vet instead.

It saved his life. His was a surgical emergency and a couple of more days with his problem might have been fatal.

It is true that Hank took to Dr. Kimber, his vet....dogs give humans the opportunity to accept their unconditional trust and love....dogs truly are man's best friend.....Hank took to Dr. Kimber because he was a fine and trusting being.

Hank's post op status required adequate nursing care...antibiotics, pain meds, anti diarrhea drugs...small bland meals, prevention of chewing at the incision....all of this nursing care was ordered by his vet...but it was performed by his owner.

It gives me joy and the motivation to carry on when I get the pleasure of caring for a fine dog loved by a human who looks out for him.

It was an honor to care for Hank and witness the guardianship provided by the human .

Thank you for letting me be your vet.

Dr. K

We took our dog to Angels because he was not acting his usual self. We didn't have an appointment but were served quickly as a walk-in. Hank is a great reader of people, and he took to Dr. Kimber immediately. As a result of her thorough line of questioning, knowledge, and experience, an x-ray was ordered. A possible blockage and exploratory surgery was deemed necessary. After three grueling hours of surgery, and removal of eight inches of his intestines, Hank survived. Had Angels staff not been attentive and inquisitive, he would have died at only 9 months of age. Hank is back to his regular self, with only a scar to show. Thanks to Angels for being Hank's guardian angels. The service was, and continues to be fantastic and affordable. I have recommended Angels to all my friends, and will continue to promote them to anyone and everyone I come in contact with!

Today was our first visit & our last sadly. We had to take our dog in to be put to sleep but he was an old dog anyway so it was for the best considering the fact that he had had a stroke the previous evening. The fact that their costs are so affordable & that they are a non profit organization should give people the want to support their business...they do it with their hearts not their minds!!! My heart goes to them

PROS: Everything, they were very generous & kind
CONS: Nothing

I have taken several of my lil' pets to this wonderful place and I am so pleased with the staff there. They are very sure about what they are doing and will take time to look at puppies right in your car so you don't expose them to anything else. I had 3 Stafford pups dropped off on me and when I took them in to get shots/worming/parvo testing and weigh in, I spent less on all 3 than I would have taking in 1 for an office visit anywhere else. TLC and devotion is the Key. Angels has it!
It is a great place to go when everyone dumps their pets on YOUR doorstep to take care of. Let more people know about Angels and maybe fewer pets will get dumped and more will get spay/nuter.

PROS: People there are for the love of the animals not the money
CONS: More people need to make larger donations to keep them going strong.

I just found this place and they are amazing! I have six cats they have taught me tricks to save money on flea treatments. They have saved me huge amounts of money on shots. My cats used to have to take turns because of the cost not any more. Instead of one at a time its three at a time and we are done.
