I reported my claim on Wednesday, June 10. It was Monday, June 15th before Sierra Mechanical could get me in. The technician was late and then proceeded to tell me that I needed a new furnace. I asked him to please also look at the A/C since that is what I was having an issue and he told me it was the furnace. He then explained that Sierra would contact HWA with the diagnosis and I should hear from HWA in the next day or so to go over the non-covered charges. On Friday, June 19th when I still had not heard from anyone, I call HWA and was informed that Sierra had not yet contacted them with a diagnosis. I called Sierra and asked why it was taking them so long to contact HWA and was told that they had contacted HWA but they contact a the claim authorization department and I talked to customer services which is why HWA was telling me that they hadnt heard from Sierra. I was out of town from that point until Friday, June 26. When I got home on June 26th, I still had not heard from anyone so I again followed up Sierra. I was then told that the diagnosis was never called into HWA, it was an over sight on their part and that she would call it in the following morning. Monday, June 29, FIFTEEN DAYS AFTER the initial visit, I called HWA who then just called Sierra to find out what was going on. Finally the claim was approved and the new furnace was shipped to Sierra.
They came to install the new furnace on July 13th. It has now been over 5 weeks with no A/C and 90 degree plus weather. After the installation on July 13th, I had to leave town and didnt return until July 17th. When I got back guess what, the A/C was still not working. I called Sierra and they said I had to call HWA to re-open the claim. They came out the following day and told me the fan motor was broke and they would need to order the part. AND they charged me another service fee which is WRONG because they still had NOT fixed the initial problem. Yesterday the new fan motor was installed so far the A/C seems to be working. Six weeks from the initial date of the claim being filed.
I urge you to please research Sierra Mechanical. I have googled them and come up with countless bad reviews of the same treatment. I also researched them on the State of MO Secretary of State website and do not see where they are even a licensed business. I also urge you remove them from your vendor list as I do not wish to EVER have them as a vendor again.

Fought with customer service almost daily about delays in service, missed appointments and bad attitudes. Unfortunately, I like most other people HAD to use them in order to have the repairs covered under our home warranty. We had to wait over three weeks to get functioning A/C during 110 degree days. I had to keep my dog at a relative's house because I was afraid she would die if left at home in the heat. They had no sympathy; their customer "service" was deplorable. Don't even waste your time on these clowns.

Bad experience! We had to use them because of our home protection plan. They called me 2 days after I contacted my insurance company and scheduled to come out the following day. They gave me a window from 9 a.m. to 1. My husband worked from home in order to wait for them. When they didn't show up by 3, I called and let her know it was now 2 hours after they were supposed to arrive and she said he was running late and would be there in an hour. A call would have been nice. Around 4:30 no one had shown up so I called again. The ladies in the office are very nice but don't seem to have much concern for the frustration. She said he's been dealing with nightmares all day and would be there soon. I let the lady know that we have company coming at 6 so we need to get this done by the time our friends are coming over. He arrived at quarter after 5. Said our unit needs cleaned and it's going to cost $80 (and all they do is take it apart and spray it out). Then he proceeded to talk on the phone for 45 minutes. No wonder he was soo late. He claimed it was his boss. If their bosses make a habit of keeping them on the phone that's not very professional. He was back on his phone for a long time again and not working. It is now 7 pm and it doesn't seem he is very far along. We had to delay our company coming over until 7 and now they are to arrive any minute and I still have someone here working on the ac, which I told her I didn't want to happen. She assured me he would be done by 6!! I'm incredibly displeased by this experience!
