This store is staffed by crabby, senile old women and drooling, acne-prone teenagers. Neither of which are of any help when needed. I purchased a set of wedding rings from this store on July 26th, 2007. I noticed a couple of weeks later that the white gold "finish" (which i thought was REAL GOLD) started wearing off to some ugly bronze color. They were in the process of closing that store and moving to a new location in town, so I called the nearest store (which was in O'Fallon, Mo) and they informed me that I would be able to return them, but I would have to wait until that store opened. So, I waited. In the beginning of September I returned to the store to get my $2500.00 back. I was informed that I would not be able to return my rings because they were purchased at a liquidation. I expressed my disappointment that such a large company would stiff one of their customers like that, especially one that spends far more than $2500.00 at their store every year. They informed me that they could do nothing. They said I would be best off selling them to a jeweler, or soldering them together. How tacky is that? I took them to Brune Jewelers (where I should have gone originally) and they said my rings weren't even of proper quality for them to scrap. Infuriated, I called every management figure for JCPenney's that I could find a contact number for. I even went so far as to contact their "Home Office", which was of NO HELP. Finally, my fiance contacted the store manager and yelled until they agreed to take them back. I finally got a refund mid-October. I will continue to shop at JCPenney, but certainly will not continue to shop at this specific location.
