Favorite place to eat. There has been nothing that I have tried and didn't like. The potato and cheese enchilada's are great. On weekends try the Ribs, but go early because they run out! Not your ordinary ribs, and they are great. Staff is great and always friendly, with fast service. Like that they have a 1/2 pitchers of Margarita's, which are only $13. Overall the food, and prices are wonderful.
Luckily for me, I work just down the street from my new favorite lunch and dinner place. I have tried many of the Boulevard restaurants, and this has the best vegetarian options for Mexican food! I hate to ask for something special when I go out, and I get tired of ordering a la carte, so I love the fact that they have a vegetarian section on the menu (platillos means "plates", I'll save you the embarrassment of asking :D)
I first was hooked on the combonaccion #2 (guacamole tostada, beans, rice, and spinach & chesse enchilada) YUM! The green sauce, the white cheese sauce...generous guac! Now I've moved on to the vegetarian burrito and potato enchilada (the server explained that I should substitute cheese sauce for the red sauce that normally comes on this, as it is made with pork)...mmmmm!
They stay open between lunch and dinner, which I appreciate and the margaritas are great, especially the strawberry frozen ones.
We are always pleased at the price too! Two of us typically eat and drink for right around $20...which is less than what we used to spend at another place down the street without drinks!
I have taken friends, and now I often end up running into them when I arrive LOL!
My guests are NOT vegetarians, and they also love the flavor of the foods they choose!
My family and I have been going to this restaurant since I was a little kid (it used to be named Las Chiquitas). Back then, the decor and the food were kind of americanized-mexican. Now, it is 100% real mexican food, and it really is delicious. The prices are on the lower end, and it's great to go sit on their patio when it's nice outside and enjoy a pitcher of margaritas!
My family has been eating at Las Chiquitas for as long as I can remember, sometime in the 80's at least. The mexican is good, without a lot of the filler you get at other mexican restaurants, instead of a ton of lettuce, tomatoes, etc, you get lots of meat and cheese. And if you get the pork, watch for the steam to come out of your mouth!!!
Pros: Inexpensive, quick service, recently remodeled
Cons: Bad parking
