I used to really like Funhouse Pizza. I just visited the one in Independence and the place was filthy. Not one cook was wearing gloves. For the price, the pizza was less than satisfactory. Not sure that I will visit that place again. HUGE

I have been eating at the Funhouse pizza in Raytown for over 40 years now and tonight will be the last time I ever go there. I called in my order and was told it would be ready in 25 minutes, which is about how long it takes me to drive

Love Fun House! Some people get confused. 40 Hiway has always been it's own entity. It is NOT affiliated with Raytown, 23rd Street, Lee's Summit, Blue Springs, Harrisonville or Raymore. I grew up going there and my 82 year old dad has requested that for his birthday for years!!!

Pros: Consistant for 40 years

Cons: Could use some updating

Been going here for 20 plus years and the pizza is still as good as it was back then. I went in there last week and the horses still worked!

So I order a medium soft drink. I get handed a cup not much bigger than a small, had my three sips, then went up to get a refill only to be told it costs fifty cents. Screw you people. And would it hurt to update the decor. What a dump! And the pizza is not so great either. It's meat and veggies on bread. Where's the sauce? Anyway, no pizza is worth dragging my kids to that dreary, lifeless hell hole.

All the Fun House Pizza locations offer coupons EXCEPT the 40 Hwy location - what's up with that?? We had a birthday party there (no balloons allowed!) and the pizza was good but it would have tasted better with a coupon!!

Three generations of my family have grown up on Fun House Pizza. I am sad to say I may not be passing this tradition on to my own children. First there was the failed franchise locations that did nothing more than tarnish the Fun House name (Harrisonville and Raymore among the worst). And now it seems the recipe or maybe the preparation has changed. The only location that is making a comparable pizza to the original is the Lees Summit location. It however has one crucial short coming. Service is very lacking when the owner (Semper Fi) isn't in. The "children? that work there are rude and petulant. When the Boss is in everything is ship shape. I know for a fact he wouldn??t tolerate such behavior.

Listen friends, I pass so many pizza joints to get theirs, you might think I am out of my mind. Yet I have tried every pizza joint in the K.C. area, from Westport, city market area,Papa's-.Hut- godfathers-gambinos-minskys and several independants and have been unable to match much less beat their munchie special, a large canadian bacon/mushroom extra shrooms or cheese and sausage. Been to denver chicago and new york too, still no comparison. Cost me 5 bucks in gas (@ $4 gal) too. The best is worth the extra effort, time, and travel. Been going there since 1969 and this family does it right. Funhouse on 40 358-5520. Enjoy the best or why bother?

Love the pizza, but the sauce is spicy and to much. When I go there I have to ask for less sauce. I think the tast is good, but maybe a litle less sauce.

This by far is a landmark pizza joint in Independence, The funhouse combination has such a heap of toppings that they won't all stay on the pizza. The place has a carnival atmosphere, nothing too fancy, it's all about the Pizza! They always have a large staff keeping things running smothly. I have been eating there for the last 35 years. They have plenty of games to keep the rug ratz busy, just keep feeding them the quarters.

In my opinion, the 40 highway location has the best pizza you will find anywhere. Too bad the place is really looking run down compared to how it looked twenty years ago or more. They used to have cool black light pictures on the walls which I was fascinated with as a youngster. None of the lights work anymore, and the walls look coated with tar from decades of smoke. It has a generally neglected feel to it, which is a real shame. But the pizza is still THE BEST!

ok, you can't beat 55 cent tacos and $2.25 32 oz beers! Yeah, so the place has not changed in about 40 years but ya know what, thats how long they have been in the same location with the same awsome pizza! They have an interesting game room with everything from the "CLAW" to Golden Tee to Old classics like Galaga. I appreciate a place that has stuck to its roots and has not commecialized itself. My family has the tradition of every monday night we go, get beers and tacos, sit at a huge table of 15 and have fun! Thank you Funhouse for keeping my family closer!

I've enjoyed Fun House Pizza since I was a kid; while in town over the holidays to visit family, I ordered a couple of pizzas for take out. The pizza is still great, but I was surprised when I arrived to pick up my order that Fun House ONLY accepts cash. Two large pizzas cost $36, and I wasn't carrying that much cash. Yes, they have an ATM right by the counter (which I had to use), but that added another $3.50 total to the cost of the pizza ($1.50 by the ATM bank, $2.00 by my bank). Ouch! I would never eat in the restaurant -- it's too dark and noisy, but the pizza is still as tasty as I remember it being in my youth. I recommend Fun House, but remember to stop by the bank first!

This is one of the best places around to get a fresh, hot pizza any way you like it plus all the extras you like with pizza like salads, breadsticks, wings, and beverages. The atmosphere in this place is amazing. They have a jukebox, big screen televisions, arcade games, and adult gambling games. You can come in and take your order to go or have a seat and watch one of the games or listen to music. This place has been around for years and once you come you will know why. The prices are reasonable and the staff is very helpful.

I have been coming to Fun House for as long as I can remember (over 20 years!). I frequent both the 40 HWY and Raytown locations. Both are always clean and the staff is generally friendly. The Pizza is AWESOME! By far the BEST in town. Sauce is a bit spicey vs. tomato but tastes great. The toppings are very generous and they use real ground beef on hamburger pizzas (unlike the processed stuff from the big chains). They are also very generous with the REAL cheese! Great family enviroment with an arcade for kids! LOVE FUN HOUSE! OH - the Raytown location now delivers!!!!!

Fun House has the best pizza I have ever eaten. The crust isn't too thin or too thick. There is the perfect amount of sauce. The pizza has the most toppings you have ever seen on a pizza. If you have never eaten at Fun House, you must. It is a need. You don't know what pizza is until you have eaten Fun House Pizza.

Fun House Pizza is the best pizza I have ever eaten. I like it so well, that I even recieved 2 frozen pizzas from my best friend as a wedding gift. She brought them all the way to Arkansas! My family and I have gone there since I was a little girl, some 29 years ago, and I now take my own daughter there as well. Unfortunately, I live miles away from Fun House now, but everytime I go for a visit, it's my first stop!

Forget all the other KC ratings for pizza...I've had Fun House all my life...living out of town now, I miss it greatly, but get it every time I'm there. It is the best in the world. The combination or pepperoni is my favorite. The inside has never changed, so don't expect fancy or elegant...this is one of a kind pizza that you can't describe...you have to try it!

I loved Fun House pizza 20 years ago when I lived in KC. They cook it on paper, so the crust is real crispy on bottom. Great sauce & lots of fresh toppings. Went back this summer and the food was just the same ... fantastic! Also good meatballs, hot german potato salad & lots of cold beer or mixed drinks. A family place. Not very fancy, but a must if you want friendly folks and great pizza.

Probably the best of the old, great Pizzas in Kansas City for the past 30 years.

Sauce and crust are fair, nuttin special. Toppings are another story. If you like toppings, Fun House has it. Super-Generous portions and good stuff too.
Generous toppings plus the seasonings and cheese
quality have kept this old pizza recipe a favorite for years. Too bad there are not more locations left around the city. In my opinion, this is one of the best pizza's left in Kansas City today.

This isn't the fanciest place in town, noisy, kids and video games and big screen TV's. BUT, the place has the best pizza around: great crust like none other, lots of toppings, and some unique combinations. (You've got to try the dill pickle pizza!) They've been at this location for 30 years and haven't lasted that long by not serving the best. If the noise bothers you, you can always get your order to go!
