Neil's was very helpful getting me a car. They don't have the best prices but hey, no one else would loan me money to get a car. As a single mom, I needed a car.

After having messed up my credit with credit cards and buying way to expensive of a car from a BMW dealership in Kansas City, I was carless and no one else would give me a loan. I needed a car to get back and forth from work and no body else would give me credit. Neil's Finance Plaza was very nice and helped get me a car. Now I am on the road to credit recovery. Thank you guys.

I have bought 2 cars from them and had wonderful service and cars. The first one I bought 5 or6 years ago paid off and my son is still driving it other then regular oil cahnges we have done nothing to it. My husband and I had some very unexpected changes in our finances and they have went out of there way to help us and work with us so we didnt lose the truck were paying for. and again we have had no issues with the running of our truck. So I would and have recomended them to friends and family very HIGHLY.

I bought a 2005 Ford Five Hundred. I love my new car! I've had it just over a year. Had a couple of issues after the warranty was up, but they worked with me. Very happy with my purchase. Will buy from Neil's again.

Horrible service!!! Biggest joke i have ever seen in my entire life. Went and test drive a car and it started smoking really bad from the engine on the test drive. the salesman insisted there was nothing wrong and for me to buy it, that he would "cut me a deal" Danna Candillo is the biggest beep you will ever meet!

Of course its common knowledge that Neil's is dishonest. I heard thousands of horror stories of people's negative experiences with Neils!
But I do know of a few good reputable pre-owned car dealerships that I can recommend. My parents bought a used car at Country Hill Motors several years ago, and they had a positive experience with that dealership. The car they bought, which is a 1993 Geo Prizm, is a very solid dependable car. My parents recently paid off the loan on the Geo. When they bought the car, Country Hill sold it to them for the actual Blue Book value. The dealership was honest about the car, and gave them a copy of the CarFax report.
Another reputable dealership that I'd recommend would be CarMax. I have a few friends that are employed there, and from what I heard.. CarMax has every car they sell checked out and inspected by their mechanics. A lot of their cars are low mileage new car trade-ins that they purchased from local new car dealerships. And they do a CarFax history report on all their inventory so when you purchase a vehicle from CarMax you are getting a good car you can rely on, and that has a warrantee on it.

Yes there is always the fear of the unkown when buying a car. Yes they are priced a lot higher than any other car lot. I purchased a vehicle there. And paying more than I wanted to. But I never been late with a payment. I never had anyone misstreat me or be rude to me. The staff treats me like a customer, they are just a steping stone to get you a ride because you obviousaly failed to get approved at other locations. Bottom line, it is what it is. If you have bad credit, you need to build up to get at another car lot. But you basically have to go where people accept you. Neils finance is not my first choice. But they have been good to me and managed up to their end of the aggrement.

If I was you, I would run from Neils Finance Plaza! They are the worst buy here pay here lot in KC. Richard Candillo aka Rocky is scam artist and should be ashamed to call himself a Christian. Tom Moore is Raging Drug Abuser who recently had a stroke due to drugs. They buy junk cars from the auction, clean them up, and sell them at 3 times what they paid. If it breaks down after 60 days or 2000 miles your on your own! If you default on the loan they will repo the car and re sell it again. If your stock # is xxxxR4 that means your car has been repoed 4 times and resold! The collectors are ruthless, rude, and non-caring people. The have been convicted of mileage fraud and lost a huge settlement. The place is a joke! They pray on the poor, young, and the elder. They claim to Christian but I would compare Regency Financial Corp aka Neils Finance Plaza aka The Finance Plaza to the devil. DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM THERE.!

My first dealing with this hole in a wall dealership was in 2005. They sold me a 98 Intrepid that mysteriously was stolen from a lot of expensive cars while at work. They "made a deal" that I pay $500 and the Intrepid would be considered paid in full. Mind you I only had the car for 4 months! I had a rental for the next 3 months while I shopped else where then realized I had no other option because I had unpaid student loans on my credit so I went back to them in January 06 for a 2002 Grand Am. That car was decent, physically & mechanically but it took me almost 2 years to pay it off (about $12,000). After my last payment I had plans to fix up the car but to my surprise the engine was bad! You guessed it, I went back the next month to trade-in, so i'm currently trapped with a Monte Carlo & this is the worst car yet! The first Spring i had the car i noticed a leak on the passenger side when it rains...we just had a nice rain & best believe I have a pond on the floor of the passenger side. Also my gas gauge stopped working about 6 months after i had the car so I've been guessing & luckily i've only run out of gas once! I can't wait til this car is paid off, my credit should be in better standings so I can find a legit dealership that cares! All of them bottom feeders that work there are crooked & they know it!

I bought a car from Neil, I'm getting ready to go make my last car payment. Yes, the amount of the car was very high over what it was worth, but I also started this journey with horrible credit, and now I've not missed any payments even made some early, I have good credit now.I would recommend this place for anyone that has bad credit, but only if you have bad credit, if you have other options, I urge you explore them too!!!!

I think that they are just a big rip off and a misrepresentation of a real car dealership. I realize that it's a place for people that don't have the greatest credit, but they shouldn't make a point to rip you off either...that's the main reason why you don't have the best credit in the first place. Just because I get paid three times this month, my car payment is going to be $645...can you believe that...who, in their right mind would pay that!!!!!! I will try my best to keep this car while I have it, but I really want to tell them to shove this car right up their.....

I purchased a 2001 Vw Beetle. I had a good experience there. Everyone was nice and helped me through all my questions and financing. I wouldnt say I got a good deal but I will say that with my credit I am just happy I have a good running car that I can get to work and back everyday. I have recommended this place to a friend. I am rebuilding my credit and I have made my payments on time to them each and every month. So in my opinion if you have crappy credit and a little down payment...Give them a try.

I went to neil's to buy a car the other day. I filled out some paper work. Then an older guy came up to me and said you can't buy a car here you are because you get paid minimum wadge and you are a single white girl. Come back when you have a man. He was rude about every thing and I'm telling everyone. I wanted to buy a 2003 chevy trailblazer and they wanted 15,998 and Kelly blue book says 9,000 and there apr rateing us 18.9%. I went to the chevy dealer and they were nice and I got a trailblazer. It is a 2004 and I only paid 8,000 and nothing is wrong with it, oh and the apr rateing was 5.2%. That is a big dif. ??? What should I pay 18.9% apr or 5.2%???... neil's is wrong they don't help people they f**k them. Don't buy a car there, keep looking you will save a couple 1,000 I promise!!!!!!

We recently purchased a Buick Rendezvous from Neil's Finance Plaza. We experienced fast and friendly service personnel from all aspects of the dealership. Adam Gonzalez, the warranty manager was most impressive. He handled any issues we had concerning the vehicle in a timely and professional manner and at "no charge" to us. We recommend Neil's Finance for anyone needing a "second" chance or anyone needing a good used automobile.

After a nasty divorce, I had some serious financial trouble. My Jeep got repo'd and I was desperate for a car. I saw Neil's commercial and decided to give them a try. I knew of the "dangers" of the buy here pay here dealerships, but didn't much of a choice since I didn't have much for a down payment and my credit was shot. Neil's put me in an '02 Kia for $10k and I drove off the lot that day. The payments are high and the interest rates are through the roof but they have worked with me though my financial hardships. I have been laid off twice since buying my vehicle and they were pretty understanding and set up alternative payment arrangements with me. I wouldn't recommend Neil's (or any buy here pay here operation) if you have other options because you will over pay for a below average car. But if your options are as limited as mine, you have to do what you have to do.

I contacted Neils Finance PLaza and they went over and above my expectations. A salesman, took me to the aution, waited while I found the truck I wanted, he got me an excellent deal.
Neils mechanic drove the truck first, said it needed a few things. I left the truck, and porter from Neils came and got it. At Neils they went through Very thoroughly which took almost 2 days. I might add that my financing was in Texas, and they purchased the truck for me, and then waited until I got the bank in Texas to issue a check for the amout, which took several days. In the meantime I am driving the truck, and might add that I am a paraplegic so I need a quality vehicle. The people at Neils treated me as if I were one of them. I am impressed and would highly recommend Neils.

The price is high and the financing is high because these places are for people who have bad credit or no credit and would not otherwise be able to get a car at all, not even at a high interest rate, especially now that the subprime mortgage industry has made the lenders very jittery.

By the way, having your daughter on your tv commercial is not exploitation, at least in my book. I did commercials for my Dad's car dealership.

I filled out a financing form for a place in town called Neil's Finance Plaza. I'd seen the guy on the commercial, exploiting his kids or grandkids, proclaiming whilst wearing his cowboy hat with a southern twang, "just $59 down and you drive off the lot!" Yeah, all
right. That didn't exactly hook me.

They sent me a handwritten postcard that told me I was "pre-approved", which I laughed at, ignored, and lost. Pre-approved for what? Next, Pam called me to tell me over the phone I had been "pre-approved" to buy a car. I laughed privately at this once again. I know they didn't check my credit or call my references. I knew it was a gimmick, but thought I might go and see what they had to offer. I am desperate, and even though I realize I'll have to pay twice or more the value of a car, I do not have much choice. I need a car. They feed on desperation.

Pam asked me on the phone if I had any money to put down. I said, "I may have $300 on Friday when I get paid." She immediately gave the phone to a salesman, who offered to send someone to drive me to the dealership, across town from where I live -- I thought, to look at what they had to offer. So the next day, Tuesday evening, I took them up on it.

What happened was totally bizarre. Everyone -- a room of about six or seven idle people sitting in close proximity in makeshift desks --
greeted me with weird smirks on their faces, and a guy brought a
Saturn up for a test drive. This was apparently the only car that was
"available" (hence, the car I was "pre-approved" to buy, I guess). So
I test drove it. The guy who rode with me was Mexican American and could not speak English or answer questions. That was odd. Doesn't one, if accompanied, usually have the salesperson with him just for that purpose -- to ask questions, discuss the vehicle? The transmission sounded a little bad. I wasn't impressed, but the car was clean.

When I got back a tall white-haired guy, maybe Neil (not sure), ran
out the door. He did not introduce himself nor shake my hand. He
snapped, "is it okay?"

I said that the transmission sounded bad.

He said, "hell, I dunno, I've never driven it, come on inside."

I went inside to discuss the car...what I've done at other dealerships
on other occasions, bargain, talk about the financing, treat each
other like human beings.

No deal. He sat me down and started filling out paperwork in silence. I was shocked. No discussion of price? What the hell kind of salesmanship is this? He was assuming that I wanted to buy the car. It was totally absurd. He asked me for $300, and I told him, like I told the woman on the phone, that I didn't have $300, that I wouldn't have it until Friday. He jumped up, this guy who never shook my hand nor told me his name, and said, "can't help you," and announced to everyone there I didn't have the money. "Can't get a car without a down payment," he said more than once, shaking his head, and walked off in anger.

"Yup, can't get a car without a down payment," everyone kept repeating like they were characters in some bad, surreal television commercial.

I was still in a state of shock. I had never even said I wanted the
car! No one had ever suggested or mentioned a price! No talk of
interest rates or the bad transmission or anything else! I was waiting
for Ashton Kutchner to jump out and say I'd been Punk'd, but it didn't happen. I said, like an idiot, "maybe I'll come back Saturday." Yeah, right.

"Be sure to call first to see what we have available. Oh, and here's
what you'll need," Pam, the unhelpful woman I had spoken with on the phone told me, giving me a list of other things I would have needed to buy the car (which of course I didn't bring) such as pay stubs, etc., a list she had neglected to give me previously. I apologized lamely for the apparent miscommunication, and sort of stood there like the dippy doofus I apparently am. How could they treat their customers so terribly, and communicate so badly?

"Um, how do I get home?" I asked, quietly.

Pam grimaced. "I dunno, the bus? I've never taken the bus."

I was in a daze. I motioned, "can I leave by this door?"

She said, "yeah, thanks."

"Yeah," I said, and threw the list she had given me on the floor. I
pushed the door open and went to the bus stop. I found just enough
change, fortunately, perhaps serendipitously, to pay the fare.

The people were all incredibly rude, presumptuous, unprofessional, and treated me horribly, like scum, as if I had no dignity.

On their website they credit Jesus for their success. I suppose that
should have been a red flag, an attempt to gain trust from the
credulous from the outset. Since, they credit Christ with helping them to run a legal loan shark scam, add "blasphemy" to the list of bad customer service skills.

Anyone who goes here because they see this guy on TV saying he'll sell you a car for $9.00 is probably not using insider pages, but if you are... DONT GO. I have seen these guys work and they will sell anybody anything. The problem is the price will be so high that you will never be able to pay if off.

We bought a 2002 dodge for my daughter back in November of 2006, while it was still under warranty, we had a malfunction with the car. I called Neil's and they promptly fixed it. We are down to 1 more payment on her car and then intend to buy another one there for myself.

Lets make a long story short.. the 90 day or 2000 mile warrenty is over nd now i am stuck with a blazer that I have only had for 1 month. and almost 600 dollars in parts and labor that I have had to pay for. I wouldn't recomend this place to someone I hated.....

Recently I was watching the news one evening, and I saw Fox 4 Problem Solvers investigating another shady business. Guess who it was! Yep Neils! It seems they refused a young single mother who was a full time student. Neils refused her warranty two days after she bought a late 90's dodge neon that quickly became immobilized. I believe the warranty was for 90 days and any serious problems they will fix free of charge or exchange the vehicle. Well the sad story is her life has been greatly impacted with balancing school, work, and her child. I'm greatly disappointed in Neils service. Just remember your rep what you sol. Also you don't have to take my word e-mail Kansas City's Fox News Station and I'm sure they will tell you or search youtube for the "Fox 4 Problem Solvers Video". Also please write reviews to keep others out of harms way, and remember you rep what you sol. So small businesses take care of your customers or we'll just keep going to WALMART (LOL) Also be weary of Apple Electronics Extended Warranty. Thanks Take Care and God Bless!
