My wife and I started attending Sonlight Christian Fellowship Church in Aug 2009. The church is right on with the Word of God as printed in the Bible. The Pastor is very Spirit filled with his actions and Sermons. He refuses to be informed as to what each person tithes so he is not influenced by the amount person is giving.

We receive a printed report every week as to what funds were received the previous week, what they were allocated for and the current balance. I did have some questions and the Church Office Manager and I reviewed the financial data. If you have a question, so, just ask. This Church is quite open and above board with their finances.

I realize this is a large Church facility and we have just moved into the basement Noah??s Ark was quite large before having any water to float it, But GOD has the plan,
(2 Cor 5:7) ??Walk by Faith, Not by Sight?

We have been presented with different Ministry opportunities with a description that we can do. We are blessed with a wonderful and talented Praise Team.

I am 71 years old and been a member of two churches in St. Louis and two at the Lake of Ozark. In all cases I had moved to a new residence and found a church in the area. This is one of the friendly churches I have ever attended.

I attended Sonlight for about three years. During that time I found the church to be pretty straight ahead in doctrinal beliefs, but also highly cliquish, particularly amongst the leadership and their closest friends.

Also I found that there seems to be no financial accountability to parishoners. Money is never earmarked properly and I have witnessed church leaders taking Hawaiian vacations on money that was suspected to come partially from tithes. I do not believe that annual fiscal reports are issued, so there is no way of knowing for sure.

Additionally, a huge church facility is currently under construction, but on hold due to a sharp falloff of attending members. In discussions with former members of the church, there seems to be a consensus of opinion that the church is biting off more than it can chew with this massive project. I do recall that we were asked to sign pledges for weekly donations toward the new building, which turned off many members.

Finally, although the church says it encourages active participation in church functions, there are some sacred cows which cannot be touched. One of those sacred cows is definitely music. The music for the church is controlled by a group of local professional entertainers and they seem to feel this aspect of worship should not be touched by anyone not deemed worthy of their blessing. There have been many members with musical skills and desires that would have loved to participate, but have been either shut out or moved out of the way. So don't go to Sonlight if you desire to participate in music.
