David The Salon

I moved to the area in 2006 and am very picky with my hair. I made an appointment with Abby as a recommendation. She has been cutting my hair ever since. The service is spectacular and the passion for cutting hair and keeping with trends is very evident in the number settings these professionals accomplish daily. They also have numerous stylings published in hair books.

David's is more expensive than what I was used to, but the results are nothing short of spectacular. Gina's artistry makes me feel young, professional and beautiful. I will never go anywhere else.

I also had Gina as a stylist, and she was terrible. I have no idea what the other reviewers are talking about, because she doesn't keep up with current trends at all. I brought pictures to show her, and the end product looked nothing like the pictures. When it was time to pay, I gave her a very generous tip (more than she deserved for the quality of the haircut), and she didn't even say thank you or come back...nothing. The people at this salon were very rude - I wasn't greeted (or spoken to at all) for the first 10 minutes I was there. The place looked run down, even though it had been remodeled. Avoid this rip-off at all costs.

The David Salon is a little more expensive but well worth it. I took my teenage daughter there for her birthday to get her first coloring and it turned out wonderful. I was worried she would look like a skunk because her hair is so dark and she wanted light highlights in it. But Gina, the hairdresser, knew what she was doing and explained to us everything she was doing, every step of the way. Then she cut her hair to match the photo my daughter found and my daughter was so happy with what Gina had done.
I would recommend The David Salon to everyone and anyone. They take additional training a couple of times a year to keep up with the latest trends and thats a great idea.

PROS: Great people working there. Really care about your hair.
CONS: Could have longer hours.

David the Salon, conveniently located in the Gerbes Shopping center on Broadway, is a full service salon offering everything from waxes to nails to hair care. They have cuts, color and styling, all of which are available for a slightly higher fee than some of their competitors. The Salon has been recently been redecorated to keep up with the times. The Salon is clean and well taken care of, and the stylists are all good at what they do.
