My Mom had a Bad experience with Ed's Heating and Cooling in Hollister MO. She had one of them come in March to have a little fix done on her heating unit. It went alright, I guess. Summer came and she started using her air-conditioner, and a couple of weeks into it, the ceiling fell down right where the unit is. The worker who was up there, evidently bumped the drain line 90 degree elbow that was not glued, and the water was leaking all this time, which caused the ceiling to fall down. So, she called Ed's Heating and Cooling, asking to come fix the damage they had caused, and all she got was a horrible treatment, rude attitude and poor customer service. We will not recommened these people to anybody.

I would like to comment on the negative review. I am Ed's wife and I was there when all of this took place. Ed and I were in Topeka, KS picking up two trucks for our business. It was very hot and these folks had left a message on the recorder that they needed service. We started answering calls at 8 am. These folks called back at 8:40 very upset because we hadn't called them back yet. The phone kept ringing and hadn't given us a chance to call them back. Ed had already called his service tech and gave them their name, address and phone number. They were going to be the first ones he took care of that morning. When the Mrs called at 8:40 she was mad we hadn't called her and wouldn't let me get a word in to tell her we had already contacted our service tech. I gave the phone to Ed because I couldn't deal with her. He couldn't either and she canceled her appointment with us. Ed called the service tech back and canceled.

In the past, I've had very good service from Ed's. But today I had a problem with them and it generally had to do with communication, not the quality of his work. Our air conditioning (which Ed installed) went out on us over the weekend and we called Ed's and found out they did not work on weekends, which was fine. I left a message and asked that they call me first thing Monday morning since I wanted to be sure someone from Ed's would be able to service our units before the day was out. The reason I was so concerned was because we have a 16 year old Bichon and I was afraid she would be overcome by the 90 degree heat in our cabin. When I called Ed's Monday morning around 8am when they opened, I got a recording from his wife saying she would be returning phone calls from time to time during the day. I had no way of knowing that she was aware of my problem since she hadn't called me. I turned it over to my wife and she called Ed's wife and Ed's wife kept saying "we don't work on weekends" which my wife and I understood. All she wanted to know was if someone from Ed's was going to take care of our problem on Monday so I wouldn't have to spend another night in 90 degree heat with my Bichon. Then, abruptly, Ed took the phone from his wife and screamed at my wife that they don't work on weekends!!! That was the end of our relationship with Ed's. The folks at Ed's really should become better listeners.

I have had Ed's Heating and Cooling work on my unit twice now. The first time he saved me several hundred dollars versus a written estimate from a competitor. He was upfront with me about what was wrong, what I could do and my options. He is not the type of guy that is going to nickol and dime you he is honest and has reasonable prices. I had to wait a day because he is so busy but that was fine I'd rather wait than be "hustled" for more money. The staff at his office was so nice over the phone and the main boss is great. I tell everyone that I know or hear about that needs some work done...this is THE GUY to call! Well worth your time and money!

PROS: Excellent service, doesn't add on extra costs!
CONS: I don't think you could find one!
