In the fast paced world we live in, it is easy to overlook your basic customer service experience. What really stands out is when someone does an outstanding job. This branch of Dollar Tree has done just that. They were very helpful, assisting me in locating all the items I had difficulty finding. When I came to the cashier, she smiled, greeted me, asked me if there was anything I wasn't able to find, and was very efficient about bagging my items. After receiving my items, she told me to have, and I quote, a "Fantastic day". All and all, it was a very pleasant experience and I will surely shop there again.

I have to say that the expereince I had today in this store (store # 536) was the most unprofessional and humiliating experiences I have ever incounted. I had 7 items (party plates, cups and napkins from my daughters party) I returned because I found a better deal and quality at Deals (I would totally recommend that store) Anyway, I went in to return a few weeks ago and did not have reciept so was told could only exchange. I did not have to time do it that day so I came back today to just exchange for 7 sets of hangers. It would be an even exchange. I walked in store and one register was open with a line of at least 6 people. I stood in line for a few minutes and thought I should maybe go get the hangers to exchange so won't have to wait in line twice (again the line was only building by the minute). I walked at least 10-15 feet away from the register and decided I better check with cashier before I go through the store since she never lifter her eyes to see who was walking in the store. As I quickly returned back to the line I asked the cashier that if I have and exchange can I just go get what I need and come back. She said no that she needed the merchandise. I informed I had no reciept and handed her the bag. She precedded to call her Manager over and infront of me and the line of people loudly state that "this lady wants to exchange this, does not have a reciept, I did not see her walk in with this and she has been walking through the store." I quicky corrected her saying, I only stepped 10-15 away from the register. I was humiliated infront of all those people. Even a lady in line from whom I had been standing behind spoke up and said, "I saw her walk in with it." She felt I was treated with total disrespect so felt to stick up for me. I thank her for that! The cashier proceeded to say that people can come in with a bag, go fill it up with $60 worth of merchandise and them come up and try to get money back. This was as if to say, that is what I had done. Let me remind you, I was exchanging $7 worth of merchandise for $7 worth of merchandise. I expressed my disatisfaction of her insuating that I had stolen the merchandise. She handed me my reciept with a smerk on her face and said "My boss's name is Kevin, here is his number, my name is Tamzie, you can call him anytime to discuss me if you would like." Right then was the straw for me. Her comment and attitude was as if was completly okay for her to treat me that way and that Managment would be pleased with her behavior. I wonder, is that the business code of ethics. Their website sure does not state that. I am a frequent shopper of the dollar tree for school events, holidays, family get togethers. I will not shop their again and will do everything in my power to spread the word on how they treat customers.
