I've been going to the Minsky's in the northland for over 10 years. The pizza is amazing and i cannot remember when i have ever been there and had a problem with the food. I don't eat in the restaurant very often, as i like to avoid the crowds and prefer being able to eat and watch the games from my own home, so about 90% of my orders are pick up. About 50% of the time, i leave a small tip when i pick up my pizza. (2-3 bucks on $15) I worked in restaurants forever all throughout college and i consider myself very generous in restaurants, as every person who worked in the food industry probably is. My main complaint is that on multiple occaisons while signing my credit card receipt or paying cash i get a "feel free to leave a tip" or "wow, thanks for the tip" with some extra thick sarcasm. Generally i just brush it off, as most of the servers there are high school aged kids, but theres just something really annoying about that. As i said, im more than generous when im tipping for a service (when im dining in, having something delivered) but the fact im hasseled for tips when I AM going to pick up my pizza is irritating. What am i supposd to tip you for? Ringing me up? That extra parmesan cheese you tossed in for me? Like i said, sometimes i leave a tip even though i clearly think its unnecessary, and then when i don't i get a rude "wow thanks." The service inside is average, i just don't like going to pick up my pizza and be pan handled like im walking around downtown. The pizza keeps me going to Minsky's, but i can definately say i would be going there more if the staff were better.

I, having worked at many pizza joints in my life, am some what of a connoisseur of fine pizza :) And this place is by far my favorite for pizza in KC. It's a little more expensive than that of it's chain competitors, but it's worth the price! They have a Chicken cordon bleu (i think is the name of the pizza) with ham, chicken, and white sauce. It is DELICIOUS!!!! I get it every time I order...It gets a little noisy if you eat there at night, but we usually do carryout anyway. Definitely a must try KC pizza!!!

Minsky's pizza is the best in the area (outside the are, too). I recommend the large "Papa Minsky's". The restaurant is always filled with happy people. Weekend evenings can be crowded; so, go early or try a weeknight.

With their homemade, chewy crust and gobs of fresh sauce, Minsky's has been a local favorite for years. The food is just as good carry-out as dine in, and includes other typical Italian pasta offerings. Staff is friendly and efficient.
