I lived in Columbia for 4 years. Every time I needed advice on gardening, Total Environments Garden Center always had the right answer. Their products are excellent; their employees are all knowledgeable; the Center is a joy to visit. We recently moved to Linn, Missouri, 50 miles away. We have two tomato plants, each in a 5-gallon container. We didn't have a clue how to move them safely. Total Environments Garden Center advised me to put a cardboard collar over the top of each container and tape it down securely, carefully lay the containers and plants on their sides in the bed of the pickup, bases toward the cab, and they would make the trip just fine. I mentioned that the plants were so tall we would have to leave the tail gate down and feared the plants would slide out as we drove the many hills and rough roads the last 10 miles of the drive. I was assured that the containers and plants wouldn't slide out the back of the pickup, though a few branches might break and a few tomatoes might fall off. We followed the advice, and made the drive, with much fear and trepidation. Every hill we went up, we expected to hear a container sliding out the back of the pickup. Tah-Dah! We arrived at our house, checked the plants, and were absolutely amazed to find only one small branch broken on each plant and 4 tomatoes in the pickup bed. Six weeks later the tomatoes are producing like crazy and very healthy. Thanks, Total Environments Garden Center! We'll visit next time we're in Columbia.
