We love Dr. Epstein at Country Kennels! We've taken all of our rescued pets there. One of the stray cats we brought in to C.K. was malnourished and had a broken leg. An X-Ray also showed he had a BB bullet in his body. There was absolutely NO judgment or suspicion from the staff; they were friendly and very informative. However when we took the cat to be neutered at another facility (we had to use a PAWS certificate and they do not use them at C.K.) the vet at the other clinic accused me of abusing the cat when all we were trying to do was help him. He has now been with us for over 2 years and is a sweet, contented house cat who is terrified to venture outside (not surprising!). We have continued to use C.K. when another stray kitty found us (also malnourished but no broken bones or BBs in him) and when we adopted a dog from Wayside. They give you options, they don't pressure you into choices for your pets.

I volunteer with a Rescue group and bring all of my dogs here that are in the KC area for boarding and vet services. The staff is very caring and professional. Friendly and helpful receptionists and kennel staff..My vet is helpful and explains everything to me thoroughly..all around a GREAT place. I cannot say enough good things about them.

we have boarded our two great Danes there several times, each for over two weeks at a time. The staff clearly loves our dogs and I could even hear cheering in the background the last time I called to reserve spots. I drive over an hour to bring them to CK and it's been worth it every time. I trust them completely and appreciate how good my dogs look when we pick them up. I would recommend this place to anyone and was relieved to find them after moving to Missouri.

My husband and I adopted two dogs from Wayside Waifs in Nov 08. Needing reliable veterinary services, a neighbor told us about County Kennels. Since they were close to us, we thought we would use them. We first used their veterinary services, and at time of service we were informed was in contract with Country Kennels. We then used their groomer. Our first visit with them with one of our dogs in November went great. When we took our second dog up there, there were problems. I felt I was treated in a sarcastic manner and was informed that when it came to grooming an animal, I had to let them, Country Kennel, know specifically what I wanted and what I didn't want in the future.

On Friday May 1, I took my other dog to Country Kennel to be groomed. This time I was specific in what I wanted and what I didn't and made sure that my preferences were written down. My husband picked up our dog. Unfortunately, my preferences were not honored. I called Country Kennels today, Monday May 4 to discuss my disappointment with the grooming services my dog had recieved on May 1. The manager informed me that the "groomer" was a contract groomer, so they, Country Kennel, were not responsibile for what the groomer had done, nor could not offer me a refund for services. I was told that the manager of Country Kennel would have to discuss the matter with the groomer the next time they were in and it would up to the groomer to decide whether or not I should recieve a refund. I was never given the name of the groomer, nor offered an opportunity to talk with the groomer myself.

The manager's customer skills doing this phone call left quite a bit to be desired. I was informed that it would be better for me to look for another groomer and that my dog's hair would grow back eventually. I hung up on the manager.

The manager did call me back 10 minutes later to apologize for her handling of the situation and to give me the name of another groomer in the area that she recommended.

Morals of the story: I should have asked "Specifically" if the groomer was an actual employee of Country Kennel. Also, when I checked to see if there had been any other complaints against Country Kennel, there was no listing of them on any watchdog organizations. (I am not allowed to list any of these agencies on this blog). So, CONSUMER BEWARE!

We have been using Country Kennels and their veterinary services for years and have nothing but praise for all the staff.

We had a Rottweiler who was a member of our family and ended up with bone cancer at the age of 10. The staff was very caring towards our Duke and us through his subsequent surgeries and our decision to have him put to sleep, to end his suffering.

Their costs are very reasonable and I wouldn't think of leaving my dogs at any other kennel.

I have had my Doberman stay at Country Kennels four times and is going back in January 09 to stay a week. They are FANTASTIC, my Dodie is a spacial 105# guy who has been abused and I rescued him about 3 years ago. He needs special understanding and he definitely gets great treatment at Country Kennels. I highly recommend Country Kennels it is an older kennel with shade trees over the runs and is well kept.

I have been taking my pets here for years.... They have gone through some changes but my pets love going!! They remember what I drive, my dogs, and me (even outside of the clinic). I wouldn't go anywhere else with my pets!

I went to Country Kennels a few years ago with my parents to get my first dog. We had already been to 18 local animal shelters but i couldn't find the right dog. when we arrived at Country Kennels, i found Luca. he was a miniature Cocker Spaniel and he stood a foot and a half tall. he was the perfect dog for me. if it wasn't for Country Kennels, i never would have found him.

Be careful doing busines with these folks. Had to move home due to death in family & and boarded my dogs for a month. The second week all my dogs had lost enormous weight.Staff did nothing about it until I pressed the issue. Finally I gave more food. The day I was picking up all 3 the staff decided to allow a NON-employee under 18 yrs of age enter the dog area. One of my dogs bite her. This happened week 3. Due to the bite my 1 dog all 3 had to stay an additional week. My dogs have never bite anyone! I wrote them 2 checks, one being post dated. Before the due date of the postdated check I left 2 messages asking them not to cash the California account check because of my inability to place money into an out of state account on time and I needed another alternative. They ignored the messages and sent my postdated check thru my account not once but twice. I then received a call from their accountant threatening me and accusing me of a bounced check and wanting to take me to court. I since then have made arrangments to pay them monthly. I am no hurry considering how this deal was handled. I was suppose to volunteer at an organiztion closely tied to them but was denied because I have "unresolved issues" with Country Kennels. I have volunteered for years and have had numerous relationships with kennels and shelters due to years of fostering. I am a social worker and have ran my own Doggie Day Care in Las Vegas for 3 years along with owning 2 homes in Las Vegas and being a responsible person. Do not kennel your pets there!

My dog has boarded several places, but she has most loved Country Kennels. The staff is very nice, and you can tell they love dogs. My dog has been stressed in the past at other boarding facilities, but she does great at Country Kennels. I also think there pricing is very good, and the dogs have great indoor-outdoor runs... so no worries about them having to hold it!!! I've left my dog there for over a week with no worries. It's great to vacation without worrying about your pet!

This is a great little place for your pets.. They have boarding, vet services and also animal adoptions.. The hours are good as well as the location.. They offer good services at a much lower price than some of the big vet offices.. definately good service.. This place sponsered a spay day for the local people and offered lost cost and in some cases no fee spay and neuter for your pets.. Great service
