This was a horrible experience, and I will NEVER go back there, again!

My check engine light was stuck on, and I had extensive work done prior to contacting Pappas Toyota.

I called initially, to their repair department. I asked the woman whom answered the phone if their diagnostic test equipment was more detailed than Autozones', or what another mechanic might have.

I was toldl "yes", that a diagnostic with their equipment would give me a PRECISE and accurate report of what the problem was...that it would cost $89.00...but that this fee would be applied to the bill if they did the work.

I brought my car in. I was told it was an egr-vsv valve. We opted to buy the part rather than have them do the work, as we have a mechanic that could do the work. Dino, the sales rep, wasn't too happy about this, and his demeanor changed dramatically towards us.

Our mechanic spent hours installing the part. Within a few hours, the check engine light reappeared.

I called to their sales department; got Dino on the phone. He was insulting, rude, and insisted that the reason the light was on was because the mechanic, most likely, didn't know what he was doing; that it happens "all the time."

I asked him how he could even say that, without ever even seeing the vehicle. He said he needed to see the car. I asked him what this was going to cost; he said he didn't know. I told him that it should be no charge since we already paid for this diagnostic once. We argued back and forth. I asked to speak with the owner, Tom Pappas..I never got a return phone call until I called again.

My boyfriend left 3 messages for the service manager as he was angry when I told him how rude Dino was to me. The service manager and my boyfriend got into it. Dino then LIED to his service manager, twisted the whole episode, and said it was ME that was the rude one, and I was shocked as I was as nice as I could be...I could not believe that he was out and out lying about the events!!

We brought the car back. They told us, now, it was a diaphragm part that was bad. Dino admitted that the egr valve that they initially replaced was not the problem; that this diaphragm was to blame.

So, I now had to cough up money for a second part, hoping that this was the part that was bad, as Dino insisted.

This did take care of the problem. However, at the dealership my boyfriend called on my cell phone. I handed my phone to Dino as I didn't want to be a 3rd party, relaying messages back and forth. That phone conversation did not go well. Dino was very agitated, and he told me it was either Pappas do the work, but that it was NOT going to be my boyfriend, our mechanic, and them...he then stormed out of the shop.

I called Tom Pappas the following week. He said he would only talk to me with a 3 way conversation between him, Dino, and myself. I told him I preferred not to do this, as I figured that Dino would just lie again, about the events that occurred, and I thought this would be a complete waste of time.

Tom Pappas insisted that this was the ONLY way he would deal with my complaint. We set an appointment for a phone meeting for Monday, between 10-12:00. They never called. I sent an email to Tom Pappas explaining my disappointment in how he chose to handle this complaint. He did call back on my home phone, 2.5 hours LATER than the scheduled meeting.

I then sent him a few emails since I missed his call. No response to my emails, whatsoever.

I then threatened him with the BBB and disputing the charge with my credit card company.

Only then did I get a response from the service manager, whom out and out LIED, as well, as to what took place.

These people are LIARS, and I will never, EVER, do business with them again!!

Sadly, the owner, Tom Pappas, could have cared less about taking care of his customer.

Just wanted to give some credit to the fine people @ Pappas Toyota. Just recently had some service & collision work done by them & things couldn't of turned out better.Everyone there is always so pleasant . I will most likely be purchasing a new car soon & it will be an easy choice to give them my business, I know that they will be there for me.

One of my least favorite things to do is buy a car. I have to say that everyone at Pappas Toyota made it the very best experience I have ever had. They let all of my kids hit the gong and sign the wall of fame. It is a beautiful state of art dealership and they seem to make sure customers come first. Thanks to all we met when we bought our new Camry, we love it.

Horrible experience at the service dept. I gave them my car to replace the brake and rotor. They fixed it and brought my car home. Next morning, on a stop sign, I saw my wheel cover going in to a ditch. It was broken. They broke it. I contacted them, went over to that place. Talked to the joker manager. I was told, it has been cold outside and it is a 10 year old car. Nothing can be done. This wheel cover was on the car for 10 years, I gave it to them for one day and now it is a 10 year old car. Very bad experience. I love Toyota cars but man, their service department is so bad...they are nothing but a bunch of crooks

My husband and I purchased a 2006 Pontiac G6 GT Coupe in August 2010. (Keep in mind we live in Branson MO. 250 miles away, one of our 2 cars be drove up had broken down while we were in town visiting family.) We noticed before we decided to buy that the seat lever on the passenger side was broken and told our sales woman. She said that could be fixed but it wasn't covered by them b/c it's a used car. This is where our disappointments began. The car is certified pre-owned and costs a pretty penny ya know? If you're trying to make a sale and it can be fixed so cheap why would you tell me to just do it ourselves? Also the car was filthy inside and out, when we went to sign the papers she said it would be ran through detail etc. so we let those little things go and just thought well we love this car and those are small dumb little nuances ya know? So we continued and officially bought the car after spending 8 hours at the dealership the day we were supposed to leave back to Branson, only to be told that we'd have to come back next week because it didn't pass inspection because of a brake light. They said the couldn't get parts for it right away so we'd have to wait and come back. We were upset but had no choice but to leave town and get back to work in Branson. So we took another couple of days off the next week and went back up there only to get all the way there and have them say it may take a few more days!!!! We said absolutely NOT going to happen, you will fix this now, this is crap!!!!!! So the got it done. But we needed 2 cars while we waited the day extra to get it fixed and they tried to charge us for a rental car for their mistake! We bought a car over a week ago and haven't even been able to drive it! I don't think so! So we FINALLY get the car off the lot after returning our rental car only to find the steering column making a clunking noise and the alignment horribly off! My husband knows cars very well and knew this wasn't normal and shouldn't be happening so we went back up to STL again! They simply were just going to check the alignment and not even fix it until my husband demanded. The finally fixed the alignment but couldnt "do anything about the clunking noise" so we left disappointed again! This time we get home and notice the car is hesitating to start consistently and even the whole display near the radio etc which shows oil life etc...just stopped working all together and now only plays certain cds! The display eventually came back on but the car still continues to hesitate to start! So we took it back up to the dealer AGAIN and they "looked" the car over and of course couldn't find anything wrong with it and sent us on our way....I also forgot to mention that our key fob that unlocks/locks the doors from a distance didn't work either and they also said that they weren't going to fix that either, which we found out after signing the paperwork. It was broken from the day we got it! Ok, so now we get back home to Branson for the millionth time and a week or two goes by and now its time to register the car. After complaining to the dealer AND Tom Pappas himself and getting no where we just had to swallow the fact that we bought a lemon ya know? We are stuck. But wait, there's more....This week, driving to the DMV to pay the sales tax, i notice a loud scraping sound and notice the car driving funny I told my husband and he checks the car over thinking that theres a piece of plastic scraping under the car or something, but finds that the brake caliper completely came of rotor and was wedged in between the inside rim of the wheel and the outside of the caliper( Both bolts holding the caliper on were missing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) Seriously?, soooo we call Pappas and tell them we never made it to title the car and we want answers and that the car is undriveable. We have an extended warranty but at this point we have to pay for the tow and a 100 dollar deductable to get it fixed at the nearest dealership. We called and asked what was the best way to go about it and they told my husband just to fix it himself then take it to the dealer. What crap, they are no help and didn't care at all. We have owned this car for a month and have had nothing but issues and horrible customer service. You don't sell an 11,000 car to someone saying its certified etc and sell them an extended warranty and then have all these issue BEFORE you even get the car licensed and then say "oh well too bad, you deal with it." I understand it's a used car but never had i heard of a dealer dealing with a customer who CHOSE to spend that amount of money at their dealership and be treated in this manner. Very unhappy, sick to my stomach...car sitting in my driveway with an expired temp tag still..

DISHONEST, MISREPRESENTATION and attempting to take advantage of me! WOULD GIVE ZERO STARS IF I COULD! I drove out to Pappas Toyota after contacting them first by telephone during which they confirmed their advertising that they were offering "several thousand, up to $6000 over blue book value for ANY trade-in" including a "clunker". Blue book value on my vehicle is $8000 -- they offered $4800 and tried to tell me they thought my vehicle might have a "tranny problem in the future" and there is a problem with the "ball bearings". Either they are complete crooks or even worse they felt they could take advantage of a 70 year old little white haired lady!

I've just purchased my 3rd Camry from Pappas Toyota , being a 2011 Camry LE. My salesman, Tony, listened to what I wanted, what my payment had to be and as usual at Pappas, made it all work for me. No pushy sales. They have delivery people who show you the whole car before you drive away and be sure you are comfortable with your new car - any questions
he asked. Tony also showed me the new & improved changes to the service & parts areas and body shop and the addition of a Toyota Rental office. And a 2 yr free maintenace program. Looking forward to my 1st visit to their Service Dept.
Glad to hear Michele is still there,. Thanks Pappas

This was the best car buying experience that we have ever had. This is a first class company that really cares about their customers. They let my children hit the gong and sign a wall of fame. I even got my nails done for free! Sounds crazy, but true. I will refer all my family and friends.

My wife went in for a 30000 mile check up and when she went to pay the receptionist accidently ran the card for refund 500 and then proceeded to try to fix the error by running two sales for 500. Well that may work in her head unfortunetly for my wife this overdrafted her account by 500 dollars and then they tried telling her there was nothing that they could do. That was until I had to call and get involved and after that then they had the deciency to fix the problem and pay for any financial problems that their mistake had caused her. With that said, now come to find out when the checked the tire pressure in spare tire they removed the cover and did not replace it and are telling me that it was most likely stolen ( i guess there's a large black market for FJ cruiser spare tire covers) since it took us a week to notice that it was missing. I'm generally not a person that complains on these forums or a person that complains at all but Ive spent a combined 5 hours fixing mistakes that they messed up, spent 500 dollars on a service and now out a 200 cover. For all i'm concerned I will never do business with there service department ever again and will drive out of my way to never do so

The worst dealership ive ever been to. I found a vehicle i liked and while filling out the paperwork they let someone else test drive it. Then they said the guy driving it wanted it too and offered them a certain amount and said if we want it we got to match it. We agreed and then spent over 5 hours waiting to talk to the finance dept only to be told the bank closed and they would call early monday morning and let us know. They never did and i had to call and talked to him and said he will check on it. He still never called and i had to call again hours later and talked to the salesman to figure out what was goin on. Horrible place and a waste of time.

Two months ago an oil change was $24.99. Today it was $42.95. They said it was because the price of oil went up. Oil was $145 in July. Today it's $51. They also offer services without letting you know there's an additional cost. Be careful.

We had a very pleasant experience when we bought out Scion tC. The salesman, Tim, was very nice and not a bit pushy. It was very refreshing to have a car salesman who really wanted to help YOU out and not just sell a car.
