We couldn't be more pleased with our experience at this Inn during a recent visit to Kansas City. Mark & Nancy made us feel immediately at home, offering beverages, snacks, and help with our luggage. The staff paid meticulous attention to every detail of our stay, from the mouth-watering breakfast to turning down our bed at night and signature chocolates on our pillows. Our room was attractive & comfortable with modern conveniences and ""old-time"" charm. There are many quiet rooms around the Inn for relaxing, in addition to the beautiful outside deck & private balconies. Located close to many K.C. attractions, including Country Club Plaza & museums, while offering peaceful surroundings in a ""walkable"" neighborhood.
We look forward to our next stay at Southmoreland on the Plaza, and highly recommend it to anyone looking for exceptional, out-of-the-ordinary accommodations!

Loves It! Wonderful B&B in the midst a hotel jungle. Celebrated a recent anniversary here and was thoroughly pleased. The staff was wonderfully accommodating (allowed me to preset the room with gifts and flowers prior to our actual check in later in the day). Southmoreland is within walking distance of the Plaza and museums. Breakfast the morning after was modest, but creative and lovingly prepared. I'd definitely book a return visit.

We stayed at the Southmoreland for our anniversary. There are a variety of rooms available, each with a different historic Kansas City theme. We chose the Stover room because of the large soaker tub. It was a lovely room, although, because it seems to be a renovated attic space, it was close quarters for 2 tall people. The owners' hospitality was the best part, they are a very sweet couple who truly love what they do. Breakfast was good, but as with a lot of B&Bs, not a lot of choice. The freshly baked, late night cookies were a great touch!
