I travel and frequent Racanelli's Pizzeria in Rye Brook NY, and I thought Racanelli's in St. Louis was going to be of the same quality and took my family there because of how much I touted the one in NY. I was extremely disappointed. There was supposed to be a brick oven, but the guy behind the counter said "There are bricks in the oven." I could have gone to Pizza Hut, Domino's or even Pizza John's and had a better Pizza. I would not waste your time or money at this Racanelli's. I have nothing to do with the Racanelli?s in NY, but if you are ever in the area, go there and have a real brick oven pizza.

For the people saying it is a taste of their NY home, they need to go back to NY to get reacquainted with the taste of what they really miss, then come back and then amend their review.

Pros: They were open

Cons: They were open, food quality, Dining area,

Being a native NY'er, I came to St. Louis and was disgusted by their take on pizza. Craving the pizza parlors from home, I came across Racanelli's and I felt right at home. The pizza slices where large, thin and tasted delicious right down to the just barley overcooked crust. I don't have an opinion about any of the other choices because I've only gone there for the pizza. I would avoid delivery because it usually takes a long time and you could be put on hold for a bit due to the fact that there is only 2 or 3 workers there at a time. I recommend dining in especially during warmer weather because they offer outdoor seating along Euclid Ave. which almost makes me feel like I'm back in the city.
So if you want some REAL NY style pizza this is the place to go. I've only been to the Euclid location so I can't speak for any of the other spots, but I'm sure they are just as good.

Pros: Real NY atmosphere and Pizza

Cons: A little pricey

I've eaten the pizza before and it's okay but there customer service is horrible. I called to have a delivery made and the girl left me on hold for 7 mins and yes I can tell how long because my cell phone has a timer. I thought they had forgotten about me and so I called back and she asked if she could put me back on hold and I said for 7 mins again? She replied snotty ""it hasn't been 7 mins ma'am". I won't eat at a place that has basic food with terrible customer service. Forget it!!!!

New website www,racanellis,com
New York Style is the best; none of that icky Provel, only MOZZARELLA on this baby! Fresh veges and good meat, and other quality ingredients; crust baked to order. Having moved from Chi-town to STL, this is the best we found so far for quality. Prices are good, mention the online "$2.00 off any pizza" coupon when ordering. Credit is accepted, and there's delivery (there's one near you wherever you live). Calzones are good too, so is the Garlic bread. Soda is over-priced, just get your own. Other than that, it's our favorite, why waste our taste buds on Pizza Hut?

Pros: Quality Pizza for good price, Great delivery service, love the Mozzarella, not provel

Cons: occasional huge orders can slow down your own ONE pizza delivery, happens rarely

Who do they poll for these reviews? Lets get a bunch of people from New York to write some reviews on what people from St. Louis like...OK! Favorite St. Louis team, Yankees. Attraction? hmmm, tough one, how about Radio City. Get serious people, we have more crime and better pizza here in St. Louis. I would suggest that an outsider try Imo's just because you can easily find one. However, if you want very good pizza head to Ponticello's in North County. That's good stuff.

Sometimes Imo's isn't the pizza you're looking for...
Or
You're from the East Coast and like how pizza is done.

If you call ahead, tell them you have a $2 off coupon. They'll discount it without asking for the coupon. If they say 20 minutes, it'll only take 15, so pick it up earlier, rather than later than they say.

Familiar with place for 10 years. Went summer of 05 for slices only. The first 2 pieces were all burnt on the bottom; returned and got 2 more equally burnt. What can I say? The servers couldn't speak good English and, obviously, can't make good pizza. A shame, really, as it used to be good
pizza. And , yes, the best pizza is in NJ where I grew up!!

Pros: nothing

Cons: burnt pizza

The greatest pizza ever I think it even should get a better rating than the other St. Louis pizza places. There is plenty of room for seating for a small group(about up to 4-5). And one pizza will saticsfiy you they have the largest slices pizza in St. Louis. GREAT PLACE

Other than the crust, sauce, and cheese, St. Louis style "pizza" is fine. Fortunately, Racanelli's makes an excellent thin crust northeast style pizza. (It's billed as New York style, but it's also like places in Boston.) Along with LaPizza (which is even better) they are the only places I have yet found in St. Louis to have decent pizza. One caution -- if ordering just a slice make sure they don't overbrown it.

My wife is from New York and we are your basic NY pizza snobs. Even when in NY the entire family argues about where to get that nights pizza and which is best. Don't get me wrong, 'St. Louis Style' pizza is a nice oddity now and then, thick 'Chicago Style' pizza is great when the mood strikes you, and even the awesome cornmeal crust 'Zach's Pizza' outside Berkeley California is great....but these are all 'Styles' of pizza vs. the real deal like you'd get in New York. I always suspected there was something in the New York water that made making a true NY Slice anywhere else all but impossible. Well, either Racanelli's is shipping down tons of New York water to make their dough or they've got the secret.

This is the real deal!

Pros: Consistent, True NY Pizza, Friendly Staff

Cons: Absolutely None

You have to understand, when you come from the Pizza Mecca....it is very hard to find a joint that has pie like home. FOUND IT....I went to the Delmar location and ordered the New York standard...large pie with extra cheese. If only the guy serving it called me a jerk, I would have swore I was back in mid-town. Well done pie that you had to fold in half to keep from covering yourself with juice. Sauce was on the money....if you have eaten pie in the city or wanna see what it is like.....try this joint. I love Racanelli's Pizza! It's the best New York style pizza in St. Louis! Their crust is the best & their garlic rolls are "to die for!" You should check them out, especially in Webster Groves--the nicest of their three restaurants!

Finally found great pizza in St Louis. Being from New Jersey I guess we're spoiled, but we could not find any pizza in St Louis that we liked. I burned the roof of my mouth for the first time in two and a half years, it was great. Thanks Racanelli's.

You can't get a better super thick crust pizza anywhere...and they load on the toppings. It's good enough to make this quasi-vegan think about eatin' meat again!!

At least there is something good to eat in Saint Louis, some NY style pizza! Everything else falls flat (literally). This stuff is delicious. Should be open later, though.
