It doesn??t get any better than Amity Wood??s Animal Clinic!! Both Dr. Jones and Dr. Belew, along with all the techs and staff, are the most committed and caring vets that we have encountered with all our dogs. Several years ago we switched to Amity Wood??s because our previous vet simply kept prescribing the same treatment for our German Shepherd and she wasn??t getting any better. When we went to Amity Wood??s, they got to the root of the problem instead of simply masking the problem and charging us high costs. Recently, our Golden Retriever had a cyst on her tail that became infected. She eventually required a tail amputation. Dr. Jones and Dr. Belew worked tirelessly to ensure that she received the absolute best medical care and treatment. They even called us after-hours to keep us informed and offered sound advice when we struggled with the medical decisions. Most importantly, they cared for our dog around the clock, to include weekends, to ensure she was comfortable and well cared for while away from our home. We were totally at ease knowing that she was under their care. Our dogs mean the world to our family and we trust no other vet or staff more than we trust Amity Wood??s Animal Clinic!
My husband and I have taken our dog, Stella, to Amity Woods for the last 7 years after a friend referred us. Stella has had some major medical issues and Dr. Belew, Dr. Jones and all of the techs have been so helpful and understanding. Dr. Jones has perfomed two bladder surgeries and Dr. Belew spent hours researching how to address her bladder issues, as well as multiple other medical concerns, so she would not have to undergo surgery again. The great thing is she figured it out and we could not be more grateful. We now live 45 minutes away from Amity Woods and we still make the trip for checks, medicine and food. There is no other veterinary hospital we will ever our pets to.
I am so glad I was referred to Amity by a friend. I moved to Kansas City and wasn t certain where I would take my dachshund. My dachshund has had his share of health issues including back surgery and seizures so finding the best care and vet is extremely important to me and that s what I ve found at Amity and with Dr. Belew. She has been the most compassionate and thorough veternarian I have ever known. She listens to your concerns and provides you with all the information you need. I highly recommend!
I recently moved to Kansas City and I am happy to have found Amity Hospital. I have two dogs and it important to me that they receive top notch, quality treatment and Amity has not disappointed. The staff is professional, caring and dedicated. I have no complaints! Thank you.
The staff at this facility couldn't care less about pets. Second time that I was turned away on a Saturday for an emergency because they didn't have time to treat my pet before they closed. First time my cat died. This time my dog had an infected foot. We called early but then drove around trying to get to the building since roads are closed due to construction. When we asked them why they didn't warn us, the receptionist said that she "forgets about the construction". The Amity Woods' vet said (without looking at her) that they would neeed to sedate the dog. The vet we finally went to see, looked at her foot, prescribed some anti-biotics and pain meds and the dog is fine. It is apparent that the only thing this group is interested in is over charging you. Go somewhere else.
The facility is nice but it does not out weigh the fact that the staff is really not that great at all. The volunteers and younger ones there and better than the paid staff.
We have used the overnight Lodge boarding facility as well as the doggie daycare and we couldn't be happier. The facility is bright, modern and clean and best of all, it is staffed by friendly and caring people. Our dog comes home from daycare happy and tired from supervised play, indoors and out, with other dogs his size (small and large dogs play separately). VERY HIGHLY recommended by this animal lover!
This is a beautiful facility. Very clean waiting area and exam rooms. Staff is very friendly and helpful. I did not get a chance to meet with the vet, but the staff was very knowledgeable about records and the pets they had treated.
They tell you one rate over the phone and then charge you another rate. I would not have used their so called services had I of known that there were untrained children that take care of your pets and they over charge by far. I called around and found 3 other places so far that chrage half their rate of which once again was not what they had quoted. None of their staff seems to be on the same page as far as any type of care or any other concerns regarding your pets. I have had multiple experiences with them so far where they would flat out tell you one thing then do another. The medical treatment I paid for in advance for my dog wasn't even being given to him until I said something about it, even then the other staff members weren't aware of what I was told by the other staff member, which seems to be the case quite often. They lure you in because yes the facility does look nice, but why would anyone want their loved animals cared for by a staff that doesn't know what they are doing half the time. You are better off going somewhere better and I can assure you there are many places better than this one in this area. And beware they are more concerned with $$$$$$$ than they are about your pets care.
