We started this program thinking it was going to be a lot of fun for our 6 year old but as soon as we signed their contract which we found out later you can't get out of at all, they ignored our son and treated him poorly. So when we talked to them about this they fluffed us off and we still got to pay the thousands of dollars. This place is a rip off and a total wasted of money! The are rude and they lie from the start

.This is the greatest fraud I ever came across. They made us sign the contract without telling that the contract cannot be revoked or broken in any circumstances. What if I lose my job today?.....what if my child is no longer interested in the program or what if i get better pricing from the competitors?....this is a fraudulent means adopted by World Martial Arts to fuel its business by trapping customers. I filed by complaint with BBB and I also filed the complaint to Attorney General of Missouri, Chris Koster. I encouraged other penalized consumers to come forward and raise a voice against them so that they can be punished for their malpractices and our voice can be heard so that new consumers do not fall prey to them

I liked the idea of my five year old daughter becoming a black belt. It is a three year commitment that I am willing to do. Only the contract is binding, there is no way of cancelling the contract and the school has the right to change locations within a 25 mile radius amongs other perks reserved to the academy. No rights are assigned to the consumer, even in the event of illness one will be required to pay the full amount. As good as it has been for the wellbeing of my little girl, I would not advice signing such an unfair contract.

total waste of time and money
They really push the program that you have to commit to for years. Then you are basically ignore you. Half the time kids well under the age of eighteen or so were 'teaching' the classes. Half the adult instructors teach the same technique in different ways. I see it as the martial arts version of a 'Degree Mill' As long as you keep paying for 'testing' and buying equipment for the various 'weapons classes' - which you HAVE to buy from them at three times the street price - you WILL get a so-called Black Belt...but it really is a joke.

They did the same thing to my family. Didn't realize they were sticking us in a contract, but they promised us we could achieve a black belt in 5 years. After two months of classes we found it wasn't for us, and decided not to attend anymore. Only to find out that they are trying to stick us with the whole amount of 5 years of school after only four classes totalling more than $11,000! And to make it more serious, they have turned it over to an attorney who is summoning us to court to pay the entire amount.

They came to my daughter's school and then called me for a week straight so she could try a "free" class well I should have known better - nothing in this world is free, and we ended up having to pay $30 for the outfit. But we went again for a couple of trial classes, and she seemed to like it, so we signed her up. It was my ex husband who signed the contract and he thought he was signing one for just a year, and then our daughter, who is four, decided after months, that she didn't want to do it anymore, and guess what? Now they are telling him we signed up for a "three-year black belt program" or something like that and won't let us get out of it unless we pay $3,000. WHO in their right mind would sign up a FOUR year old for a THREE YEAR program??!? There is not one other activity that is like that; no sports or gym class; it would be ridiculous. My ex is usually very good with this kind of thing and not easily fooled, so I think something is very fishy with the contract, because he definitely wouldn't have put her in a 3-yr. program. We are still trying to get out of it.

We went for the month introduction, my son enjoyed it so we signed up. Here we are a year later and unable to go at all anymore, not because we don't want to but because we can't. I tried talking to them about this, and was brushed off. You can bring your son late at night with the adults, no we honestly can't. Just be prepared to pay thousands of dollars for services not received.

My son was a shy, and also lacking in the self esteem area. I signed him up in tae kwon do because I figured that it would help with all that. Well it has. The instructors in this school will give you, or your children the attention you need to succeed. My son didn't start out at this school. He started somewhere else but in the first few months at this school my son had learned more than he had at his previous one.

I also like that they keep their gyms so clean. And they have a good viewing area for those parents that want to stay and watch.

All in all a great place if you are interested in the martial arts.

My son has gone here for the past month and the instructors are so good with the children. We signed up with a special they were running, but they want you to sign a contract after the first month. It is expensive to continue going there, but I think if you're child would truly commit to the classes it would be worth it. There are also a lot of adults that take the classes with their kids. They also offer birthday parties there, and I think we will do that this year. The parties are very reasonable and a unique idea.

PROS: great for kids
CONS: expensive
