My husband and I stumbled upon La Gra on Friday evening. We were seated immediately, and had a wonderful waiter who gave awesome recommendations. We split the BBQ Pasta (FANTASTIC!!!) and the Beef Spiedini (very good). They have a nice wine/beer list, and offer a wide array of martinis and hot beverages too. The prices were really affordable and the food was fantastic. I really think La Gra is STL's best kept secret -- the perfect place to go for a night out! We will definitely be back!

As a long-time resident of the beautiful town of Dogtown, it saddens me that this coffeeshop can't seem to live up to its name (which translates to "friendship"). After giving them chance after chance, I've come to the conclusion that this simply isn't a warm and inviting neighborhood shop. The staff is unfortunately cold and terribly unfriendly. After several consistant slip-ups, whether it be serving caffeinated coffee when asked for decaf, forgetting food order without remedying the problem, or substituting options without informing switch while still charging, this establishment seems to disappoint time and time again. I have supported it simply because I support my town, but don't think I can continue to give them another chance.

Living down the street from Cairdeas Coffee House was a blessing. It was such a perfect place to stop on cold mornings for a hot drink. I can't even say which drink was my favorite as I found them all delicious!

The coffee is always great, but so it the food. They have an extensive menu, breakfast all day and other cafe food. Its in Dogtown, a real neighborhood and Cairdeas is a real neighborhood kind of place. People seem to know each other, but its not uptight or clique-ish, just friendly people and usually lots of dogs. They even have a large dog bowl out front that is a huge latte bowl!

Pros: Friendly staff, great coffee

Cons: They won't let you smoke ANYWHERE and they tell you to put out your cigarette.
