The bakery in Lee wood never cleans the floors, and if you look in the cases they are not cleaned out daily either. The do not take the time to clean up the utensils they use, and they do not waste their time to make the products look presentable like they have at the other bakery. Just looks and feels like a second hand bread store with the same second hand help.

This is not a business you want to patronize...EVER...What was once a top class bakery has turned into trash.

McLains Bakery is located in the heart of the Waldo Neighborhood in Kansas City, Missouri. This small, quaint bakery has been a favorite in Kansas City for many years. They bake all of their items every morning. They have the best pastries, cookies, and many other sweets. They have the best cakes. You can either park out front or around the back. The staff are always very nice and helpful.

You have not tasted sweets until you have had a cake from this bakery. It has been around for many years. We always buy birthday cakes from here----even though it means driving across town to get it. Call and pre-order ---otherwise there is not always anything left to purchase.
PROS: super taste, great ingredients, fresh
CONS: a bit of a drive---but worth it
