The food is excellent and so is the atmosphere. Wide variety, good desert and awesome chocolate martinis.

Probably the best Italian in KC. The food is excellent, especially their creamy sauces. The service is the only area that could use improvements, especially in the cramped corners of the downstairs area.

first they give me the wrong order. then we talk to the manager wich was the owner and he was a jack a.. } after they replace the food it taste like chip fast italian food almost like a frozen dinner . I will never give my buissnes to them ever again

WE STOP BY CARMEN'S THIS PAST FRIDAY ,THE ATMOSPHERE WAS SO DELIGHTED WITH SOFT ITALIAN, SPANISH MELODIES, THAT OUR DINNER TIME STILL, MAKE US THINK TO COME BACK FROM SARASOTA, FLORIDA!!

I was expecting a lot from this restaurant as it was highly recommend by a number of people. It was a huge disappointment. First, left over food on my drink glass, as well as dirty silverware. The bread was as lackluster as common sliced Wonderbread. A salad flat lifeless and drowning in dressing. An entree that tasted like it was out of the frozen section of the supermarket, with a sauce that had sugar added for taste.

The quaint little place is a great Italian bistro located in the heart of the Brookside shopping district. Make sure you order the calamari - it's amazing.

I love this place because it has very rich sauces. I love the pesto ravioli appetizer. Their salads and bread aren't too great, but the pastas are worth the trip.

For a first date I was just lost in the romance of the tiny place. We had chocolate martinis, and Shrimp diablo. Everything was perfect!!! The glow of the flames from where the chefs were working right in front of us added to my pleasure. THANK-YOU for the wonderful memory.

Went to Carmen's for a friends birthday and wow, the food was fantastic! You can actually watch them cook your dinner in very small quarters...but the food comes out fast and is simply devine! The calamari was the best I've ever had. Highly recommend.

We were not sure what to expect but the dining experience we had was awesome. The authenticity, wonderful flavors, and friendly service made Carmen's a 10! The pasta was fresh, the steaks melted in your mouths! Only thing I would change would be to serve the french bread warm. We recommend Carmen's. even sitting in the bar was a good experience!

It is hard to find good italian in Kansas City. If you can't get into Garozzos in Columbus park Carmen's is your next best bet. Brookside is fun - you will have to wait in the bar / kitchen - but everyone is friendly. Check out the new location on the boulevard.
