I had gotten tired of going to chain jewelry stores and hearing the same old sales pitches for very plain looking engagement rings. I was so happy to find Copernicus in Webster Groves. John was very accomodating setting up appointments for me to come in from Kansas City to talk with him about what I was looking for and even order stones for me to look at. He spent a lot of time telling me about diamonds, so I really felt like he was helping me to be able to make the best decision for myself of which stone to pick. It was a very nice change to not feel pressured to by a ring quickly and on a whim like at any chain store, but to build a relationship with a jeweler I will go back to any time I am looking for another piece. John put together a beautiful ring for my fiance and I highly recommend going to see him if you want personalized service and great art.

We ordered two wedding bands from this shop, one of which was to be custom made. Initially we were told they would be finished in a few weeks, but then the metal for one was put on backorder (not the shop??s fault) so a few weeks turned into a couple months. A little over two months after the order was placed, I got to see the custom made ring but it didn??t look like what I??d ordered and the owner asked for the chance to remake it. I said OK after he agreed he could have the job done in less than a week (we were leaving the state, and I didn??t want to buy the ring without making sure it looked like what I wanted). Well, the ring didn??t get finished in a week! We received the rings in the mail at our new house a little less than month after they were supposed to be done. One ring was the wrong width, but the other (custom-made) one looked good initially. Until I wore it and one of the diamonds fell out the first day! We had to return the rings, and the shop owner was extremely rude about refunding our money??at different times he hung up on us, told me to ??quit talking? when I disagreed with him, and also said his brother was a lawyer and threatened to ??crush? us if we told other people about our experience! I know other people who have had good experiences at this jewelry shop, and that is why we chose it. But we sure didn??t! When we initially ordered the rings, the owner seemed very pleasant and helpful. If you stay away from custom orders and don??t spend a lot of money, so you don??t have to worry about whether a piece will hold up, then you might be OK here. But with so many nice and professional jewelers in the area, why not give business to one of them? In the end we got our money back, but only after months of waiting for the rings and a lot of headaches.

Pros: If you don't run into a problem, the service is great

Cons: If you do run into a problem, the customer service is terrible!

Copernicus Fine Jewelry in Webster is a Family owned business that gives that long forgotten personal touch!!!
John, the owner is a master jeweler and obviously loves what he does. The variety of the items that are in the show case is like no other. The last time I went into this store I was in search of a gift for a dear friend. The customer Service was amazing, I discribed what I had in mind and who I was buying a gift for. This is all I had to do, the sales person was very curtious and knew exactly what I was looking for. While shopping that day, I discovered that not only does Copernicus offer that everyday jewelry that we all wear, John and Barbie also create custom designed jewelry. All of the custom designed pieces that I saw was absolutely beautiful!!
I would and will recomend this Jewelry Store to everyone I know...
