This is a very sad day for me to be writing this. I have been with this insurance agency back when it was D.S. Johnson., over 20yrs., when it was a great family owned company and is now owed by a corporations Dewitt Insurance. My home, cars, and my children have ins., through this company. They represent Progressive and unfortunately if something goes back with progressive it does reflect back to the your broker, and this is the 2nd time we have had an issue with Progressive which I will be writing them also. My daughter totaled her car and unfortunately was out of state when it happen. Progressive adjuster's are out of town and are very hard to track down and you play phone tag. We were very fustrated with the outcome and the rental car, so thinking we could go to our Ins., Broker Dewitt for help and guideance, my daughter & son goes to the O'fallon office to look over final papers, and disuss the settlement. Of course the papers were not in order and settlement not listed. When my son questioned Jeff Roberts about the rental car situation and why she wld be charged now, even though she still has no check for her car Jeff Roberts got very fustrated with my son and tld him, he needed to leave the office. Jeff's explanation was the situation needed to be diffused. Who tells a customer that is only concerned about their sister and is only asking questions on why she will be charged, and Jeff Roberts as a professional supposedly in the business for 16yrs could not be professional enough to properly diffuse the situation. My son is in his late twenty's and was so upset called me and I told him to go back in and he just sat in the chair and said no more. Yes they are adults but at the same token they are your children and we are all doing business with the same ins., broker. I did call Jeff Roberts, personally and they only thing he could explain to me was he thought my son needed to leave because he was getting alittle upset.... Really probably because you could not properly explain still why she will get charged, when she had no paperwork and still no check for her car. Not once did he express how sorry he was that the situation turned out like it did. His only comment was, they just keep discussing the rental car, and my comment was to him how can you keep a 23yr old that is relying on that moni to get a car and only give her 72hours and still have to continue paying for a rental while doing so. The only thing I can say here, considering the fact that the insurance business is so saturated, with brokers and agents the competition is fierce and you would of thought Jeff Roberts would of tried alittle harder to keep my business but he did not. I would recomment to everyone to definitely try other brokers / agents prior to going to Dewitt Ins., their customer sevice is something to be desired. I will hopefully find another broker to do business with for another 20 or more years. I hope this review helped.
