I have been going to this wonderful salon for a year and a half. Sara is my stylist. She's awesome!! We always discuss what we're doing with my hair. She makes sure you are a happy customer. I have been very satisfied with my cuts and hair color. Everyone there is very friendly and makes you very comfortable when your there. I would suggest any one looking for great cuts, hair styles and color to give Show-Me Stylz Salon a try. You will not be sorry. THEIR GREAT!!!

I went here to get a corrective color....I have had medium blonde hair for years and decided that I wanted to go dark..well I hated it! Thank god for this girls at Show Me Stylz. They made sure that I went out of there looking great! The Girls were so professional, great to talk to, and made sure I got back to my normal self. I also received a great haircut FREE; for getting color done on my first visit!I would definitley recommend this place to anyone wanting to look great!

Ok, I've been reading some of the reviews, and yes, these girls are young but I must say, I have NEVER known such young girls to be SO professional. I know I wasn't that professional at their age!! I've been going to Show-Me Stylz for several years now and have had the pleasure of watching their salon grow. I find the salon to be friendly, comfortable and nicely decorated. They always have creative ways of displaying their products. These young woman are VERY sweet - especially Jill - LOVE HER! I find the snacks and beverages provided are a wonderful bonus - who DOESN'T want a little Scooby snack? I have referred others and did receive my bonus of a free bottle of shampoo and enjoy participating in their occasional incentives. I am proud of these young woman and intend on going there for a very long time. Keep up the good work!!

Ive been going to the salon for a few yrs now and all of the young girls are wonderful there. They are very trendy and up to date with the hairstyles. Ive always been satisfied with my services there. They just recently remodeled it looks AWSOME!!!! They sure have come along way.. I highly recomend tryin it out you will be satisfied too. I love show me Stylz and i will keep going there for years to come..

This place is trying to pass itself off as a high-end salon, and believe me, it is not. I went there because it is close to where I live, got an average haircut, and was totally unimpressed by the staff. They are very young and unpolished. I had to cancel an appointment because I had to work late one day, and they were extremely rude to me, and said they would charge me if I did it again. No problem, because that turned me off to the place forever.

I have lived all over the country and have to have my hair colored quite often. I like edgy & bright color that doen't look like something you and your girlfriends did in highschool. Show me Stylz has great stylists that make you feel welcome and listen to what you have to say. I have been to much more expensive salons but I have never recieved color service that was so fast, comfortable, and well executed. Not only that but you can get a great dye job with cut, brow wax, blow-dry, & style for around $100.00. You can't even get those kinds of prices at chain salons for half the quality you receive at Show Me Stylz. Great Place, Great Value, Great Service.

Pros: Great value, highly skilled, great results, fun atmosphere.

Cons: Street Parking, hard to get appointments on weekends during wedding season.

Show Me Stylz is a wonderful salon that I would highly recommend to anyone that is looking for a new place to go, or simply somewhere better than where they currently are a client. I have been a faithful client of Show-Me Stylz for three years and I would not change a thing. I regularly go to both Lori and Shawna and I have had an updo done by Shay. They are all excellent at what they do. In fact I have recommended their services to five people, all of whom are now regular clients of the salon. If you are looking to go to a salon and be confident that you will receive the best service, along with top expertise I suggest you select Show-Me Stylz.

I found this salon on city search a few days ago. I was a little nervous about going to a new salon since I've been going to same person forever. After reading some of the negative reviews I was very hesitant. To my surprise the salon is wonderful. I was very impressed with the atmosphere and friendly people. This isn't a huge salon by any means but very cute and warm enviroment. Everyones very trendy and have really cute hair- Go Figure! This is the best haircolor I've ever had and I love my new swing bob! This salon isn't for snobby or uptight people. It's impossible to please everyone but I think they sure try. Some people just can be pleased. My names Sharyn and I highly recommend Shaunna. If you guys ever read this- Keep up the GREAT work!

I highly reccommend Show Me Stylz for a great haircut and highlight with Shaunna.She fixed a horrible hairdo from hell for me. She listened to me and has given me a great "doo" every time. I've had hair styles, parafin dips, and manicures by other ladies there and they were great too!

I have been going to Show Me Stylz for over a year. I have yet to have a bad experience. You walk in and are greeted by friendly girls. My stylist always ask if I would like a beverage. What is more fun than having a glass of wine and getting pampered?! I would say that I am very picky when it comes to my hair and Shaunna is always worried when I come in! In the beginning I had to tell her exactly what I wanted and it was always perfect. Now she knows me so well that I just say "whatever" and let her work her magic! I always get compliments on my hair as well. I have already referred a few of my friends to Show Me Stylz. Not growing up in STL, it was hard to find someone that I felt comfortable with. It is a pleasure that I found Show Me Stylz! I will NEVER go anywhere else for my hair. My best friend is even using them for her wedding! All the bridesmaids are getting their hair done, and Shaunna is going to airbrush my makeup. I have done this once before for my birthday. The makeup looked natural and stayed on all night...through the dancing and all! I HIGHLY recommend you to try them. You will never want to go anywhere else!!!! Thanks girls!

I admit that I have only been there once but that experience was enough for me to not only want to go back this Friday(April 09,2008) for a formal up do, but bring two of my closest friends (also they fit us all in the same time with only a weeks notice during prom/formal season:))with me to get their up do's done also.:) When I went there the first time I fond the staff friendly and knowledgeable I got a color and got my FREE hair cut with it which was pretty cool. Their prices were and are a great plus, I'm a college student and being able to have a affordable hair is awesome. I will agree with one review the area is really bad for parking the only reason I don't have a personal compliant about that it because I live with in walking distance. During the spring,summer,and fall the garden/flower store across the street gets a lot a business I have trouble having friends park in front of my own house because their(plant place) customers parking all the way back to my own house so yeah the parking bites the big one. but other then that not complaints

After my salon professional moved out of state, I was in search for a new one. I came across Show Me Stylez because it was located by my parents house, and it seemed like it was relatively nice and well priced. The whole thing is, is that my hair is bleach blonde so I am picky and need to go to a PROFESSIONAL to get my hair the way it should look. I do not have any yellow tone to it and with the bleach, I need toner put in it as well. My hair is a white blonde. After going there the first time, I was satisfied although they didn't even cut my hair with the color. And then 4 weeks passed, and I was due again. So I made my appt. and got my hair done. The lady that I recieved did not keep the bleach in long enough and also did not tone or fully cover my roots with the dye. After leaving, I got home and realized leftover bleach was in my hair (which could make it fall out) and then along with my white blonde hair, I had yellow roots with some brown roots as well (my natural color)... this place was HORRIBLE and i disgrace to all salons in south city st louis. Mark my word and take my advice, do NOT go here.

Ok, I'm gonna be honest. The ladies at Show-Me are just trying to make it, I respect that. But most of their stylists are not more experienced than at SuperCuts or FantasticSams. Why else would they need to charge you for missed appointments? I did not think my cut and color was worth the money (even with the first timer discount)...so be careful about going here without a recommendation from a trusted friend.

I have been a client for several years. I love the intimate nature of their business. sure it's small, but the girls there are very skilled at what they do. My stylists have always been super friendly, and listen to what I want. I have NEVER had a bad experience there. They will continue to have my business for years to come!

Show Me Salon must be stuffing the ballot boxes on Citysearch because I see no reason for it to be highly rated. They take your credit card # for an appointment and will charge it for 50% if you can't make it at the last minute -- I had very bad customer service over the phone when they finally picked up. The first time I went, my stylist was inexperienced and did not seem to know what she was doing; after the cut, my hair did not look any better than when I went in. My friend's dye job looked purple-ish. I usually don't take the time to write online reviews, but this experience was bad enough to say DON'T TRUST THE ONLINE OPINIONS OF SHOW ME!!

I made an appointment at Show Me Stylz after reading all of the great reviews online. Maybe my expectations were too high, but I really was not impressed. I thought the salon seemed small, there was not a lot of room to sit while I was waiting for my appointment, and both times I called I had to leave a message and wait for someone to call me back (I noticed while I was there that they rarely answered the phone). I went in with pictures of what I thought I wanted to have done to my hair which would have included taking about 2 inches off of my long length, putting a few long layers in to give my natural waves and curls more body, and some long layered bangs. I told the stylist that I usually wore it curly, but would occasionally wear it straight. She proceeded to cut layer upon layer upon layer into the back of my hair, short layers, after I specifically said no short layers. She dried it straight when she was done butchering my hair, and I told her that I didn't really like how it looked like only the top portion of the back of my hair was layered and not the bottom, it didn't blend in very well at all. She said I could come back if I didn't like it after I got home and tried to work with it. I went home, I cried, I wet it and tried to work with it and realized I had a Carol Brady hair cut with the short layer on top and the long flip underneath, then I cried some more. I ended up having to go to someone else the next day to fix it. She had to cut 2 more inches off the length to make this a workable and decent looking haircut, trim up the jagged uneven layers that had been put into my hair, and add layers to the left side where she forgot to put layers in. Because of the bad stylist I got at Show Me Stylz , my long past the shoulder length hair is now chin length, and all I wanted was 2 inches taken off. I wouldn't go back here, nor would I recommend anyone else go here, especially not if you have curly hair. Their inexperience will cost you.

I really like this sallon. I have been to a number of them in the St Louis area and I found it difficult to find one that suited me. You would think it would be easier for a guy to get someone who can cut short hair. Perhaps I was spoiled by the $80-100 sytles I was getting while I lived in Chicago, but his place is fine by me. The staff here provides a low-key, family atmosphere and a quality haircut. I recommend Jill, she cuts my hair.

I can see why this salon is the best of the best.Let me first start with the phone call to make my appt. The woman answering the phone was very friendly and informative.I made an appt for color and haircut she informed me that i would need a cc# to make an appt which honestly at first i was not sure about giving but, after she explained the 24 hour credit card policy She also explained to me that it is to keep there stylist busy ,limit no shows and show loyalty to there regular clients and new clients. I thought WOW thats very smart buisness for not only the salon but also for the stylist that work there and make money only by appts that they do.When i showed up for my appt the salon and stylist were very friendly,my stylist was very up to date on color and haircuting showing me the new hair colors and cuts for spring i felt like i was in good hands which is a great feeling when it comes to someone new doing your hair im newer to the st.louis area and this salon was an awesome find for me.

When I started searching for a new and cheaper salon, I came across the Show Me Stylz Salon on this site and thought they would be great since they were voted "best salon." After trying them out, I can honestly say - DO NOT GO HERE! My stylist was not good and each time I left the salon disappointed - I was trying to avoid paying $60 for a haircut and Show Me was cheaper...however, I learned my lesson and know that you get what you pay for!!

Based on the reviews of this website I went to this salon two times and it was horrible. Not to mention they have hidden charges. The coupon makes you think that you should get a free haircut as a first time client with any color service. Not so fast, they add in extra costs for toner. I had the worst haircut of my entire life and my foils were entirely too light. If you are going to spend your hard earned money on your hair do so elsewhere.

When I planned to cut my waist-lenght hair into a short pixie style, I researched salons so that I could be sure a professional was going to be cutting my hair. I found Show me Stylz online and thought it sounded fantastic.

Lindsay did my haircut and it was awful. The entire left side of my head is a half an inch longer than the right side. I have weird chunks of hair sticking up from her thinning it in the wrong places and bits of longer hair in random places all over my head. I am not happy with her, but the salon was nice and everyone was really friendly.

Recommend the salon but not the stylist.

I am a 30 something guy that had been either cutting my own hair or frequenting the "Great Clips" of the world because I didn't like the whole salon feel. However, two years ago a co-worker recommended Show-Me Stylz because they are just great people and so I gave it a try... since then I've never been anywhere else. I love Show-Me Stylz because they are so friendly and welcoming, even to a guy. They aren't pretentious or treat me like I'm crazy if I really don't care about what product I use in my hair... they just give great hair cuts with a geniune friendly demeanor that makes me feel comfortable being me. I highly, Highly, HIGHLY recommend this salon to anyone looking to find a place where the people are sincere, treat you right and of course cut good hair.

I was never the type to go to a salon. I mostly did my own hair and makeup. I was getting ready for my wedding and knew this is just wouldn't do. Called for an appointment and was asked for cc info ( I think this is just good business, they schedule their time and should get paid if clients don't show up) I was greeted upon entering the door. Jill is my stylist. I say still because I fully plan to return! Jill is GREAT!!! Jill listened to me and gave me a beautiful color and cut. She spent a lot of time with me. I returned for an updo- preview and day of my wedding. They had an entire wedding party for the day of my wedding but they fitted me and my now husband in. Jill did an emaculant job on my hair and Stephanie was fabulous job on my makeup!! We were treated so nicely. They have always greeted us on arrival, offered us something to drink, always made us feel welcome, made us feel special. I'm not so experienced with alot of salons- but I know what I like. These women are experienced, down to earth friendly. Definently worth trying

An update - On my wedding day, I went back to get my hair and makeup done by Shauna. She did an incredible job. The airbrush makeup was fantastic and like promised didn't run or smear in the 95 degree heat. Myh hair was beautiful and I really felt like a princess! Shauna is so wonderful and really made my wedding day special! Thank you so much!!!!!!!!!! -----------------------

I have gone to Stephanie at Show-Me since last summer. My brother is a trainer for Matrix and Paul Mitchell and travels around the country teaching cuts and colors for each company. He has done my hair for years but I needed to find a local person since he isn't home much. I HAVE VERY HIGH STANDARDS.

Stephanie (although she is young) will give you a fabulous haircut and an amazing color every time. She will not push you to buy products and I am an easy target because I am a product junkie. After I had grown my hair out for my wedding I went to Steph and asked for a cut that would give me some style again. It took a couple days to get used to shorter hair (shoulder length) but that was 1 month ago and I love the cut more everyday! Steph's cuts look good initially and keep looking awesome even after they grow out some.

I have paid big bucks at big salons and got nothing more than a leather chair to sit in and a good glass of wine. With Stephanie you will get what looks like a $70-$100 haircut for about $30. I'll skip the ambience of the other places and keep heading back to Stephanie at the little shop on Fyler Avenue.

I went in for a pedicure on 5/11/07. The service was okay and I relaxed throughout the experience. The next day, my left toe was red and swollen. I went to the Dr. and it turned out I got an infection from this salon!! The chair and tools 'appeared' clean but apparently wasn't. I'm reporting this salon to the CDC immediately! Show-Me-Stylz, invest in some cleaning solution and make sure your salon is properly sanitized between customers. Ladies, watch out! Who knows...you could be next to be infected also. DO NOT waste your time going to get a pedi there!

When I arrived for my appointment, I was warmly greeted.
They made me feel truly welcome
I was offered refreshments, and advised of who my stylist would be
When it was my turn. My stylist, Shauna, greeted my as you would a friend, not just a paycheck
She walked me to her station, and began inquiring about what I was looking for
She actually listened to what I wanted!
Then we discussed, my future style, looked at photos of what I was looking for. And went for it

A couple of things I would like to point out.
She allowed me to engage her in conversation, not your ussually short responses.
I felt like she really was interested
Shauna also made sure I was facint the mirror, whenever possible.
There is nothing worse than being surprised by your new hair style.
When she finished, she allowed me to look it over good(no rush to get to the next client)
I would not call the service proffesional, because that sounds too cold, for the type of service I recieved.
She managed to treat in such a manner as to amake me quite comfortable, and not cross any boundaries

Over all, it was a very pleasant, relaxing experience.
I would not normally take the time to go on line and put my comments, but service of this level deserves to be rewarded

Talk about a great Mother's Day! I recieved a gift certificate and had a wonderful time today. I just wanted to say THANKS to everyone at Show-Me Stylz Salon. These girls are so sweet. My color looks FABULOUS! I love this salon. I wish I would have found it sooner. The girls are so nice and you can tell they really like working there. It's not a stuck up atmosphere at all. Wow! I went in for a cut and foil a few weeks ago and had a terrible experience. My hair is FRIED and the left side is at least a half an inch longer than the right. I had read the reviews on here and thought that since the positive outweighed the negative, it was worth trying out. I was so wrong! The parking is definatly horrible, the stylists are stuck up and do not really listen to what the client wants. I will never go back. I have an appt at the salon with the next highest rating and am praying that something can be done to fix this mess.

The sylists are plain awful! Way inexperienced, it seems as if they never even completed school. I waited 1 hour even though I had an appointment and I just love being ignored while the stylists carry on a conversation while I was in the chair. Shaunna is very flighty and rude. Do not waste your money...you'd be better off paying $10 for a Great Clips cut or better yet having your little sister with no experience cutiing your hair. The parking situation is horrible as well, almost had my door taken off while getting out of my car b/c they only have street parking. I thought it would be a high-class salon, but the airbrushed name with butterflies on the wall thru me for a loop. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME!!

Shea does a great job on my hair. It is a challenge, I have long hair and I am very, very picky about my color and cut. I've been to very expensive salons in Saint Louis and they don't have what Show-Me does, I love Show-Me Stylz. Shea listens to what I want and she always nails it! As long as I am in Saint Louis, I'll be going to Shea to do my hair! I highly recommend Shea. Thanks, MW.

With all the hype here at citysearch, I was expecting such a wonderful experience but was left feeling less than satisfied with my haircut and manicure. There were multiple things (parking, wait time, bad manicure, being asked to recruit clients) that will keep me from going back again.

***Edit*** After my 4th visit to the salon I am beyond happy with my hair. I don't know what some of these people are talking about. Maybe you are going to the wrong person but Lindsey who did my hair this time and Tabitha who has done it before are both awesome. And sitting next to Shaunna while she was doing someone's hair she seemed really nice and the haircut she did was so cute! And bad parking??? these people tend to forget this place is in the city. Nobody has good parking in the city! Are you smoking something?...... Just drive down the street maybe 50 feet and there is a decent street space. Are you really too lazy to walk that far?

Anyway... Lindsey and Tabitha listen to exactly what I want and it always turns out better than what I could imagine! I have had so many compliments on my new cut and color, everyone wants to know where I go.

After reading the reviews about this salon I wanted to try it out. I went to get my hair highlighted and trimmed. The best thing I can say is that the shop was nice and clean, and the ladies were nice for the most part.

First, I was waiting for my scheduled appointment for over 20 minutes. While getting my hair foiled for highlights, I pointed out to my stylist Jill that the roots were not getting any color on them. (I have been getting my hair highlighted for MANY years.) She told me that it would be fine. She took so long that I was going to be late for my next appointment, so I just paid and left. When I got home, I noticed that the color DID NOT COVER almost ? an inch of my NATURAL ROOTS!!! On top of that, my hair has NEVER been so DRY and DAMAGED after a coloring, until I got THIS ONE!!! After stepping out of the shop with my ?new look?, it looks like my hair has been highlighted for over 2 weeks with my lovely dark roots showing!!!

After receiving my ?service?, I thought I would pay around 65 dollars for all over highlights with long hair since that?s what their website quotes as their pricing. Little did I know, that they were charging extra hidden charges that Jill never mentioned to me as first time customer totaling over 80 dollars!

For the icing on the cake, I tried to contact the owners over 3 times about my experience and dissatisfaction. Every time I tried to talk to Shaunna, she would not take the time out to take my call and show some interest in the well being of her customers. I will NOT be returning!!!

I've been to them all ladies & I've found my heaven!! Comfy, upbeat salon that meets my every need,whether its my hair or my hectic day they treat me like family from day 1, & its been great ever since!! I like the fact of their continued education,or the confidence to ask the stylist next to them 4 there oppionion,b/c we all know someone who is a stylist or was a stylist but did'nt have what it takes! It takes heart, creativity, & skill(and we all know you either got it or you don't )to do what these ladies do!! They are trust worhty & act as a team w/ each other so there is no tension or who can be the best!! They are the best & its a kept secret in St. Louis so if you have found this Salon then you agree! I loved the atmosphere of the salon. It was so inviting. The service was friendly, I didn't have to wait for service. Stephanie was my stylist and she was very open to suggestion and knowledgeable about what colors would work best on my hair. I am very happy with my new hair color, she did an amazing job! I would recommend this salon to anyone new to the St. Louis area, like myself, especially college students. The prices are affordable and the quality of work is excellent! I have been getting my roots done for years and I finally switched to Stephanie at ShowMeStylz~ and my hair has never looked better!! My roots are actually blonde instead of brassy orange plus I have found alot of affordable products to use on my hair!!! I highly recommend this salon, everyone is very friendly and the salon is very stylish and upbeat~!!

While I can't speak w/respect to all of the stylists, I will say that Jill and Lori are great, and they both REALLY know what they are doing. Ive been going to Show Me Stylz since February after getting a horrible color job at a different salon. I have been back about 4 times and Jill has done an amazing job of turning my bleached blonde hair back to its natural healthy brunette color. EVERYONE at the salon is super friendly and you never feel like they are trying to rush through your appointment to get to their next customer. They will take a long time to talk to you about what exactly you want before starting. I have been to some of the best salons in Miami before moving to STL, and the end result was no different from what I got from at Show Me Stylz except for the fact that Show Me Stylz has amazing prices and the girls aren't snobby!

I've been going to Show Me Stylz for over two years now and I am addictedt! I love how they just always know what to do with my hair and I've never been happier with a salon. At the time that I met Lori and Shaunna, I was in search for the perfect hair salon and stylist. I wanted a new, cute and stylish look. Lori knew how terrified I was of letting someone new fix my hair. I decided to make an appointment with her and she gave me the best new look ever! I felt comfortable with her and the salon was so cute and 'hip'....I can even have a glass of wine while getting my hair done! I haven't been to anyone since and always have a great experience. I have referred several of my and they too are addicted to Show Me Stlyz!!!

I went to this salon to get my hair cut and colored based upon the reviews on this website. HUGE mistake! I told the girl exactly how I wanted my hair cut (trimmed, slightly layered towards the ends, and angled around my face). Not too difficult, right? You would think so. When I got home from the salon I wanted to check out my new due. The front looked fine, but when I looked at the back, I was appauled! I had a huge chuck of hair (approx. 4") missing from the middle of my head! I figured this was some pathetic attempt to 'layer', but why didn't she blend the rest of my hair to match! I was so mad! I couldn't believe I didn't notice this at the salon, but then I remembered, she never turned my chair around for me to look at the back! So remember ladies, if you're brave enough to frequent this salon, to ask to see the back of your head! It could save you the price of getting someone's disaster fixed (by a REAL professional)!

Pros: Nothing...sadly

Cons: Staff was unfriendly and inexperienced, horrible parking

My friend & I decided to treat ourselves to a moms day. I will start with that her hair turned out stunning, great job Stephanie. My hair & spa pedi is another story. The internet stated a $44 fee for the pedi, I was charged $50, with no head pillow, barely any cuticle work & not even all my nails trimed.
It gets worse-my hair! I asked for a cut, style and blond highlights for my naturally curly red hair. Well I am currently now blond-not what I asked for, but I can deal with this. What I couldnt deal with was when the stylist first cut my hair, (which was barely a trim) I noticed as it dried these very distinct "layers" on each side of my head. I was still there and asked her to make these layers blend into the rest of my hair better. Thankfully another stylist came and fixed those. This stylist asked her to then add layers from the top center of my head back. I left, hating my hair, but wanting to give the benefit until I got home and styled it with my own products. (I asked for a style, but oh well). I got home showed my DH, and he told me to go and look at the back of my hair (it must have been bad for a man to notice :) I guess it was suppose to be a layer, but it was basiclly like someone took a section of hair and cut it horizonaly. When you looked at it all you saw was a missing big chunk and all the dark red hair. I called early the next morning, and thankfully was able to go in again. A different toner was placed on to darken the blond a bit. Then after asking for my hair not to look no longer like a big yellow ball of fuzz, she worked very hard to blend the "chunk" into my hair and to thin it out. I came home only to need my DH trim all the snaggle "tails" which hung from my hair. It is so short now and NOT STYLISH. I had high hopes given the reviews. This is NOT the place for those with naturally curly hair. The stylist just didn't know how to work with it to cut or style it properly. very sad
