An exceptional family friendly BBQ restaurant. The servings are plentiful and a good variety of side dishes. Don't pass on the desserts.

Great location for a party if you need space and good food. We have been to 2 different large parties there and the service and menu items were delicious. The BBQ ribs are just really hard to beat. Do not miss the BBQ beans. They do a nice job with chicken, brisket, sausage, and pork. Their onion rings are fabulous.

When you pull in, you get the feeling that you just arrived at a chain restaurant. It is clean, nice enough looking, but so unauthentically BBQ, more of a bar and hangout. The Burnt ends were small in serving size and very average, like the first time you smoked a brisket and smothered it in your best BBQ sauce to cover up the dryness. The beans were pretty good though. I try not to be too rough in my critique, because I truly love BBQ, however, I wouldn't recommend Summit to anyone who was looking for a "real BBQ experience". Anyone who say's other wise probably works there.

Pros: Clean

Cons: It's like heated up meat with sauce...that's not BBQ

OK, this place is really the best BBQ around. A little out of the way for us Johnson County'ers but well worth the drive. If you love BBQ, and are not impressed with the chain places of Gates and Arthur Bryant, (no offense guys) then this place will delight your taste buds. Smoky flavor without being to commercial. Hearty body in everything from the sauce to the beans to the coleslaw. The beans, oh, where do I start. Slow cooking the meat over the crock of beans so the drippings add to the flavor all day long is where the secret lies. Burnt ends, turkey, pork, it all has just the right spice without being overpowering. True lovers delight.

Pros: Flavor, beans, value!

Cons: none so far
