All the review I've read about the owner and the customer service being terrible are true. I was treated like crap here. I called and told them I had a coupon over the phone before driving 30 minutes with my 12 year old son to pick up the pizza. The girl behind the counter who told me over the phone I could use my coupon ripped it up and said the owner no longer accepts these. I told her I had paid money for the coupon and wanted to talk to the owner. The owner told me he wont accept the coupon and that it was tough (insert expletive here)! I couldnt believe my ears! I paid $4 from restaurant.com for the coupon (10 off). I would have never driven 30 minutes to pick the pizza up had I not known I couldnt use my coupon. He said he didnt care if he lost a customer for life when I told him I would never come back. This angry rude man is so stubborn he would rather throw his pizza away (or eat it judging by his weight) than do whats right by the customer to keep the business. I have never, ever been treating so poorly by a business owner or his staff in my life. They were downright rude and nasty to me. Tell me over the phone that you do not accept the coupon so I dont drive 30 minutes out of my way with my son to pick it up! Is that too hard? And be polite? Take the $15 instead of the $25 and keep the customer? Just a thought.

First of all I am from Chicago, and this place is a complete insult to pizza everywhere. The owner went on and on about how much better his pizza was than everybody else. He then went on to bash St. Louis style pizza saying we are a fly

Best pizza around, period. The family loves the thin crust, but the thick crust is the best. Give it a try.

This company has terrible pizza and even worse customer relations. The pizza was so salty I could not even begin to eat it, let alone enjoy it. The crust was tooth-breaking hard. No refund was given because apparently no one has ever complained before. (said directly from owner) His defense was that his employees frequent church.

Very well done, as if you got it from Chicago itself. It's pricier than a lot of local places, but the ingredients and dough are fresh unlike many pizza joints. I've never tried their other styles since I only go here when I want Chicago style, but if you'd like something very filling and enjoy deep dish or stuffed pizza, give it a try. Very well done and consistent.

A "one of a kind" pizza!!! Love it!! You have to try it!! It is better to have it delivered or pick it up as the place itself is small and doesn't have much seating.

Just moving to O'fallon, we were looking for a new regular pizza place to call our own. Before I tried "A Better Pizza" I checked the reviews and was a little hesitant to try it, but since we were trying every pizza place in the area until we found our favorite, we decided to try it out.

A Better Pizza ended up being our favorite! The crust is awesome, the sauce is amazing, and they have never skimped on the toppings. At other pizza places we always have to order extra cheese/extra sauce, but we never have to worry about that with this place!

The service and management have always been friendly with us. The delivery time is slower than most--usually ranging at about 1 hour - 1.5 hours, but the food is well worth it and is always fresh and hot when it arrives.

My boyfriend ordered some pizza at around noon, and I'm ordering some again right after I write this review for dinner! Love this place, also the mozzarella sticks are to die for! (and this is all coming from a picky eater!!)

Every time we have ever called "A Better Pizza" we have received courteous and respectful response in taking our order. They have always given us the time frame we can expect our order. (And most times it has been earlier than said.) The first time we ordered they also brought a few appetizers for us to try. This was above and beyond anything we have had happen before with other delivery places. We do not expect things for free but it was a nice touch. We don't expect it every time. Their food is delicious, consistent good quality and have not had anything wrong with our food ever. We have recommended them to others who have also had very good food and service. Their salads are more than adequate and have never had wilted lettuce or dry vegetables in the salads. Their garlic bread is very delicious and just the right amount of garlic on them. The delivery persons are always very nice and respectful. I don't understand the negative reviews because I have not had any from there.

The pizza there was marginal at best. It was all crust, very few toppings. The owner was a smarta## and not very friendly. If you like Chicago Style Pizza try Tri-City Pizza in St. Charles. Their Chicago Style actually tastes good and they put toppings on it, unlike A better Pizza where you pay more for a bunch of pizza dough and to get treated rudely. I will never order from a better pizza again.

As you can read in the review below, she more than likely has never seen the true side of Craig. Even if it is misspelled, you still know of whom we are referring. I can receive better customer service from a doped up convenience store clerk than I can get from A Better Pizza. Craig, is so full of himself that he thinks of himself as a god. The product is horrble, the service is not much better. Furthermore, before you go and start slamming, other comments and their spelling, proof read your own

Pros: There are actually pros?

Cons: They are open for business

First, I'd like to resond to the two bad reviews previously posted. If you're going to write a review at least get the owner's name right, his name is Craig, not Graig. I happen to know Craig very well and have been a customer for well over a year and have rarely had any problems. If there is a problem I have found they usually do their best to fix it as fast as possible(i.e. free appetiser or discount for next time). As for those who have had a bad experience, that is very unfortunate. You must keep in mind that it is a small family style buisness at this point that is trying to get off the ground. They don't have everything down pat yet but are working very hard to provide you with the best Chicago style pizza that you could possibly find in this area. Even the thin crust is better than the cracker pizza that is the St. Louis style. The thick crust is my personal favorite because it is similar to a handtossed. The deep dish and stuffed pizzas are simply divine! I can only eat one piece of these monsters! All the pizzas are more filling than you would think so you have to find how much you can actually eat. An extra large(16 inch) thick crust more than fills the bellies of my family of 5. They have 23 toppings so I'm sure you can find something you like. As Craig has always told me, to get quality you have to pay for it. These pizzas are of 5 star quality with a reasonable price. I would recomend these to any one and everyone! They also have lots of other good food such as appetisers, chicken wings, pastas, and sandwiches(including real Italian Beef sandwiches and Chicago hot dogs! You'll get hooked on the hot dogs if you've ever tried them). Give them a call, just give them some time because they don't use conveyor ovens like Pizza Hut, Domino's etc. They use stone ovens which give you a much higher quality pizza. Trust me. Check them out!

Cons: need to allow time, order ahead of time

On a previous order the owner, Graig, took my order and cut me a deal of a total of $12.77 for 2 12 inch thin cheese only pizzas. Well, I placed an order on the same night as I am typing this, to see if Graig would do the same thing. He got rude and belligerant with me. He stated "2 12 inch thin pizzas is $19.02. If you want a beter deal than that then go to Pizza Hut. I can't make any money giving away pizza. You are holding me up, I have got 2 deliveries to make. Either place your order or call me back." I hung up on him. It seems that he thinks he is a god for having a completely different product. Well, his and his entire staff's customer service skills leaves something to be desired. He may claim to have "A Better Pizza," but other places have "A Better Level of Customer Service."

This used to be a favorite place of mine, however, I had an unforgivable experience recently that changes all that. The customer service is horrible!!! After the counter girl took 4 phone orders ahead of mine, I was finally noticed by the owner. He took my order and I asked how long it would take. 30 minutes was the response. 35 minutes later, I asked what the hold up was, and he said 15 more minutes. Well after waiting a FULL HOUR in the car, with my hungry children getting fussy, he finally brought the pizza out with no apology or anything to try and make it right. Instead, the crust was done but the cheese was BURNT! I asked for my money back and was met with "This isn't Pizza Hut or Domino's, I don't give away free pizza! I don't care if I said 1/2 hr, if you want the pizza you have to pay for it. Etc." Well I opted to get my money back. But the owner actually argued and yelled at me in the parking lot for a good 5 minutes and it was extremely embarassing and out of line. AWFUL! I will never eat here again. I finally got my money back, but he wasted an hour of my time and brought me to tears through no fault of my own. Don't give this jerk your money! I left and went to Little Caeser's where I bought 2 pizzas for $7 less than the price of one "Better Pizza" (Yeah Right!) and it took less than 3 minutes. A Better Pizza needs A Better Attitude!!!

Cons: Customer Service, Owner, Wait Time, Quality

If you've ever eaten at Giordano's Pizza in Chicago, the deep dish at A Better Pizza is almost exactly the same. Definitely a hidden gem.

With that being said, I've never waited so long for a pizza to cook in my life. I can understand that they get busy some times. That's fine. Just don't tell me my pizza will be ready in 45 minutes if it will take longer. I arrived 45 minutes later on the dot...and was told it would be 15 more minutes. 15 minutes was a big-time underestimate...as I would say I had to wait at the restaurant for another 35-40 minutes before being given my pizza. As one of the other reviewers says, they don't apologize for the wait. They just hand you your pizza and send you on your way.

All I can say is this. Their pizza is amazingly delicious...but you almost need to schedule time around ordering it as if the cable guy were coming. I do wish they had more locations than just the one in O'Fallon.

Best advice is to show up 1 hour after you order a deep dish. 45 minutes never happens.
