I rented a very nice 3 bedroom 11/2 bath apartment, for what I believed to be a decent rent. I was quite happy until things started to break. The water heater was silted up, the dishwasher leaked, and the water lines are all old and leaky. Multiple complaints, no fixes. The silted up waterheater is over 10 years old, and the thermostat is cranked up to scalding temperatures. it needs replacement. I complained about a leaking exterior faucet, and rather then fixing it, he capped it. Now I can't wash my car or water my garden. Her handyman isn't. I've got seven years experience running commercial/industrial/avionic electrical equipment and three years installing home appliances prior to that. I know shoddy, shady workmanship when I see it.

I'm not discrediting what has already been said, but I would like to give another perspective. I had a totally different experience with them. Before I rented, I read the reviews, so I was a little hesitant. However, they ended up having the place that worked best for us to fit our needs within our budget, so I went with them. They really seem a lot more reasonably priced compared to some of the other area property management companies. Also, we have animals, so that narrowed who would work with us. From the time we called them, they worked well with us. Robin showed us properties when we were available and sometimes with very little notice. We always paid our rent on time, but there was one month where we didn't know if that would happen due to a mixup on payroll. They were very understanding and helpful. When we weren't quite ready to move out at the end of our lease, they let us go month to month even when that meant that the property would come available in a less than peak rental time thus making it harder to rent. We moved out recently (and cleaned really thoroughly) and didn't have any problems getting our deposit back with other than legitimate deductions. We didn't have anything break, so I can't speak to service on repairs. Overall, we had a great experience with them. We would definitely rent from them again.

I'm posting this because I know that different things can happen. People usually only hear about bad experiences. The truth is that there are probably people on both sides. I'm sure it's more even than the reviews would lead you to think.

NEVER AGAIN will I rent from them again! They told me they would have the apartment cleaned before I moved in. I even called to remind Robin I was moving in in two days. The day I moved in I found the apartment exactly the way it was. Nothing was fixed or cleaned. I ended up cleaning for three days, before I could put my things away. Then we had some repairs that needed to be taken care of and never were. The bathroom roof had a terrible leak in it and they never came to fix it. I called multiple times, but no one ever came by. Finally it got so bad, one night when there was a storm the roof caved in and water was all over the bathroom. I called Robin and she said she would have someone there in the morning. No one came to fix it until 2 weeks later. DON"T RENT FROM THIS PLACE, unless you want a dirty, damaged, and unsafe place to live.

I Was unable to reach robin- the head of home rentals, frequently enough to complain about problems that i was having with my apartment. Her helpers take notes for you but you never recieve any returned calls or any attempt to fix the problem. I asked out of my lease due to a few I would call "Major" repairs that needed fixed there. I waited patiently for them to find someone else to take the lease and wasnt put on the list of apartments for almost 2 months. The landlord told me i should just use my fingers to change temperature in my shower which was abnormally small anyhow and was severly molded. Our heater quit working in the middle of winter and the repair men were not fixing it in a appropriate time frame. 2 weeks on emergency heat and freezing your ass off is rediculous. one bedrooms are almost as expensive as 2 br. I found townhouses and some nice apartments that were nicer at cheaper prices.. also most apartments that you will find in a reasonable price range are sorta NAPPY. And even more of them are in BFE.

I have had a horrible experience with Robin Allen. She was not honest with me. The entire rental experience with this company has been a nightmare in many different aspects. I do not want to say bad things about any person or business, however I would suggest looking somewhere else to find a rental in Warrensburg.

I rented an apartment from Home Rentals for one year. The rent was not too high for the area, and I had absolutely no problems until I found mold growing in my bedroom closet. I have allergies and asthma and everyone knows that breathing in mold is not healthy. I expected them to take care of the problem but they did not. She sent the handyman to take care of it but all he did was wipe down the walls with bleach. It started growing back a few weeks later. So I called again and the same thing happened. I asked if I could get out of my lease early because I felt like the mold was causing me to have health problems but the manager told me that they would sue me if I left without finding another renter first. How could I in good consciense rent out an apartment that was making me sick to someone else? I bought some air purifiers and finished out the last two months of my lease. Now she won't return my deposit. I did not do any damage to the aprtment whatsoever. She says that the carpet needs replaced, and she is right, it needs to be replaced because of the mold. It needed to be replaced when I moved in, I didn't stain it or damage it in any way. I am thinking about suing them, even though the lawyer would charge me all that I could get back from them. It would be worth it just on principal.

We also rented a house through Robin, the rental manager. In the beginning it was okay, but our rent was very high. We later found out that a friend was renting an identical house down the street from a different rental company for $100 less per month. Our garbage disposal was constantly clogging up, she would send out the 'handyman' to 'fix' it and it would stop working again the next day. We finally gave up and started putting our old food in baggies in the trash can. After living there for a year and a half, Robin knocked on the door and informed us that we had 10 days to move out because her friend had cancer and was looking for a place to live! How could anyone make arrangements to move in 10 days? I would advise anyone who is looking for a house or apartment to rent to NOT go through Home Rentals and Management.

We rented from this place through the rental manager named Robin. Robin found us an awsome house that was resonably priced. The only problem in the beggining was that there were a few repairs that needed to be done that she did not want to have done, such as screens that had large holes in them, moldy carpets, one of the bathrooms had bad plumbing and the kitchen electricity did not work at all. After about five months of renting here we got a letter from the owners of the place who had lived out of state.... Apparently they had never recieved any of the $3750.00 in rent that we had paid to Robin. She had told them that she had paid it out to repairs, we never recieved any repairs to the house. They were supposed to be making payments to the house and apparently had to stop when she didnt pay them our rent money and the bank was taking the house from them. We lost our place to live. Robin said that due to the circumstances she would not ever rent to us again. A circumstance that was clearly her fault. I am very upset with this woman she was rude to us and treated us like her not sending the rent that we paid (which by contract was her responsibility) was our fault and it was not. Legally there is nothing we can do, but I really think other people should know what a horrible person and company this is to rent from.

PROS: there are none
CONS: Everything about this place the people are CONS
