About two weeks ago I saw an 01 Elantra that the shop had for sale. They were asking $2500 for it. My grandfather talked to Joe and he said the only problem was the seat belt was making the air bag light come on and that if we didn't ask to go down in price he would fix that, include the inspections and clean the car out. We said okay sounds good. We get told on a Wednesday that everything is fixed and the car is ready to go. Get to the shop and the air bag light is still on, seat belt has not been replaced and the car is not cleaned. So, we said no deal. They called said they had ordered the part and the car would be ready in a few days. Friday we get a call and are told the car is ready. I had work the next few days and said we would come pick it up Monday morning. Monday comes, we show up to get the car. First, the car won't start, the seat is not bolted in and it has not been cleaned. When we start the car up the air bag light is STILL on. They said it was because the code was not cleared but all of this should have been done Friday when they called us, so we left. Today, Tuesday, comes we get a call that the car is completely fixed. Show up at the place and the guy we need to talk to is not there and no one can tell me anything about the car. Wait around for the guy to get there and he tell us that the car was sold last night. The customer service was horrible and the whole deal just seemed shady to me.

I trusted this guy for many years. He used to be honest. Then, I guess he lost his integrity because he has ripped me and my family off quite a bit since then. We had to find someone else to help repair the work that Joe messed up. I took my car in a couple times recently to get work. He would quote me one price and when I would come pick my car up, suddenly, the original quote would double or be at least a hundred dollars higher. Every time. And I was never given a printed quote so when I came to pick it up, the price they quoted when I picked it up was quoted AS the ORIGINAL quote. My car started having major problems after I took it to him last. I brought it back and he told me I had to pay him an exorbitant amount to redo some of the work he just did (shouldn't that be covered?) He also completely messed up both items on my spouse's car that he "fixed." They have both broken within two months of him fixing it. If you call him to fix the work he just did that broke, he tells you to bring it in and then charges you again for the exact same work. He is NOT an honest person and he will likely take advantage of you. I used to consider him a friend. Now I know he's a thief. Beware if you go to Joe Bess. You'll probably be sorry. And still a mechanic.

I've had extensive front end work done on one vehicle and had a problem diagnosed with another. Joe and his team did an excellent job on both. Price was very competitive. They are my go-to shop.
