I bought four tires from Dobbs. At a future time I went back for what was supposed to be a free tire rotation that is a part of what I paid for the four tires. The person at the desk tried to talk me into additional work I know my car didn't need then became annoyed when I said no thank you. Next set of tires I will not choose Dobbs.

I had an issue with a Road Hazard warranty and couldn't find anyone to help me until I called Dobbs Tire & Auto in Brentwood. Steve, was absolutely amazing and went out of his way to help someone that wasn't originally involved with Dobbs to begin with. Because of his willingness to help me when I really had my hands tied, I will always come back to Dobbs in Brentwood for all of my car's needs. Thank you Steve and the crew at Dobbs Tire & Auto Center in Brentwood, MO!!!!!

Why in the Hell does Dobbs still exist? Has everyone forgotten the horrible red nightmare this place was and still is? They were on the local news for scamming and ripping customers off. I remember a traffic reporter going off on a rant while doing the traffic report. Dobbs tried to scam him, but they had no idea he was on the radio every day.\n\nHere's my recent experience with Dobbs...\n\nI took my car to Dobbs Tire & Auto Center for an auto safety inspection, against my better judgment. I remember the news reports of them scamming customers and I am very aware that all chain automotive repair shop technicians get paid a commission to sell parts. But, I was desperate for an auto inspection and they were the only inspection station near my home that could get the job done on a Saturday. I dropped the car off, later I called to check the status of the inspection. I was told my car had failed inspection for a bad upper taillight and that it would cost $20.00 to repair it. I informed the technician that I would buy my own bulb, then come up and fix it myself (his tone of voice went kind of awkward upon hearing this). He paused, then said ok. He did not tell me that they had done any work on the car. Later, after purchasing a light from Wal-mart for $3.89, my buddy and I return to Dobbs. Upon arrival we test the brake light to insure it was indeed defective. Sure enough, the brake light does not work, so we proceed to remove the cover for the bulb. We untwist the socket, and immediately discover the bulb will not come out of the tail light housing. The bulb is stuck inside the housing, because its too large for the hole to be removed. We then proceed to disassemble the housing, something that should not be required to remove the bulb. Once we get the bulb out, it's blatantly obvious that this is the wrong bulb for the socket and housing. Next, we reassemble the housing, insert our new bulb, we purchased, into the socket and test. It works perfectly, when the brake pedal is pressed. The new bulb also inserts perfectly into the hole in the housing, with the housing fully assembled, the way that it should. We go inside Dobbs to request a re-inspection of the light. Then we are informed that the shop has already replaced the bulb and the vehicle has passed the inspection. Questions... Why wasn't I informed that the work had already been done and the car passed when I called? Why wasn't the new bulb tested for functionality? When I asked these questions to the manager he become aggravated and tried to explain they were doing me a favor. Where's the favor? Over charging me for a bulb replacement? Lying about what's been done? Scamming me out of $20.00? Trust me I will not let this go!

I went in with a Wednesday afternoon appointment for a simple oil change and tire alignment. Well, while aligning my tires, they broke a tire rod. Four hours later, (after 3 separate instances of telling me only a half hour longer), they finally told me the bad news. They damaged my vehicle, and did not have the part to fix it. So I had to wait 2 days for the part to ship to their store. They call me Friday morning to tell me it is fixed and ready for pick up. I didn't rush, in fact, I showed up 3 hours after their phone call only to find my car on the rack still being fixed! It goes without saying, but I will never stop in even if my car were to break down directly in front of a Dobbs Tire & Auto. It would still be worth paying more to tow it away from this dreadful place.

Aweful, rif off, shady manager who threatens you if you have an issue and want a refund on work. Never ever take your car here. Worst place I have visited. John Frankawitz was teh manager's name who told me if I called his manager he wouldnt give me my money back. What a loser.

I like Dobbs and enjoy taking my car there. They have always given me good input on tires for my car and coupons galore to use. Just beware of them checking more than what you bring it in for. This is a great service, but they may try to sell you something you may not need. For example, I took my car in for new tires (which they changed) and they said my battery had a low charge, asking if I wanted them to replace it while it was in the shop. I said no, and glad I did. When I had it checked out by a local auto shop they said it was just fine. Other than that, not a bad place :)

I have been a customer of Dobbs in Overland for years and have spent around $3000 on my 3 vehicles this year alone but never again. I took my car in for an inspection in April and as usual was given a long list of things that were wrong. I was told that I needed to replace my muffler hanger or my muffler would fall off. I had it replaced but by June my muffler was still gone. When I took it back in they told me there was nothing they could do that I must have done something to make it fall off. I took it to a different auto parts shop and turns out the part Dobbs had replaced was ripped in half. I was told it was a faulty part. Dobbs still refused to do anything. They even told me they don't care if they lose my business. They did. Don't go there or you will regret it. I wouldn't give them any stars.

Dobbs is the worst car repair shop I have ever been to. They lie, make stuff up, treat customers like they are idiots, have terrible customer service, and in general are a rip off. They sell defective parts, cheap tires, and don't do warranty work that they promise to do in their "f...ed for ever BS." Run by thugs and serviced by thugs.

Poorly handled situation. Shopped here before, but no longer! They replaced the wrong tire! When the issue was raised, the manager commented that if I wasn't the one to drop off the car, how could I be sure what information had been given. It was in print on their "in house" document! I asked if we could call his boss and was told no and that I couldn't use the store phone! Thank goodness for cell phones. After speaking with the higher up manager (who recognizes the need for customer satisfaction), I did receive a free tire and was sold the matching tire at wholesale price. However, the situation was handled in an unprofessional way. So, buyer beware! Check the work before you leave the store and know who to talk with when you have a problem. I wouldn't have had to buy a new tire if the work had been done right the first time.

I just want to say the people at the Fenton Dobbs tire are wonderful. They are always very nice, They never take advantage of a senior woman alone, as alot could and would do. They have always been very honest and helpful. It is very reassuring to me to know I can trust them completely. I am very grateful to them and glad they are just across the way.

I have been going to the Promindade Dobbs (formerly Brentwood Dobbs when it was at its former site next to Applegates on Brentwood Blvd) for 20+ years. They do a great job at servicing all makes and models no matter how old. I had them service Nissan, Honda, Chevy, Pontiac, Dodge and Plymouth. NEVER a disapointment, NO hard or misleading sales tactics or surprises, and always ready when promised. These folks know what they are doing!\r\nI've sent others there and have never had anyone tell me they weren't satisfied or paid more than fair price. Convinced my new neighbor to go there since she needed second opinion on service. Got same service at better price with better warranty. Finally, this is THE place to buy tires - best selection and best prices. \r\nThis Dobbs does honest work. Go there!!!

BEWARE OF DOBBS TIRE AND AUTO!
I brought my running vehicle to Dobbs for minor emissions work. I applied for their in-house credit. My vehicle was returned barely running with wiring problems. When I refused to pay for their mistakes I was told that they already charged my credit and would not remove charges.
Dobbs mechanics made no mention of this in report so corporate denies my claim.
BEWARE OF DOBBS TIRE AND AUTO!
They do not admit their mistakes and will not make good on them. There are plenty of other auto shops to choose from, don't take chances on being the next victim.
BEWARE OF DOBBS TIRE AND AUTO!
I gave them one star because I could not give them less.

We went in to have oil change and check a mysterious clicking noise coming from rear. They said the front and rear break pads were worn down, the front and rear rotors were ""too thin to be machined"" and the front calipers needed to be replaced because of a leak. They continued to press the issue by saying the breaks could stop working without notice because of the leak they found.\r\n \r\nThe total cost of parts and labor was going to exceed $1000! A second opinion found nothing wrong with the breaks and fixed the noise by lubricating the trunk latch.\r\n \r\nGo somewhere else.

I get basically all my car work done here and have been very pleased. The staff is courteous and I've never been overcharged. They work fast and have lots of appointment times available.
