Macaluso's Thriftway and Liquor

Although, this store's market niche is small, close, and convenient (that's why they're still open), there are too many negatives, including it's filthy, the deli employees are usually outside at the doorway smoking and talking on their cell phones, you usually have to track someone down to help you out at the deli, there have been many times I have either found or purchased something that was way past the expiration date and I had to take it back and exchange it. The parking lot is usually gross and littered, and half the time I go in there, the bananas are bad. The close location is no longer worth it for me. I'm not going there anymore.

This is a good neighborhood store. Small enough to get in and out of fast, yet large enough to have everything you need. The deli and wine sections are great additions

This was a terrible grocery store and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Dispite the huge banner advertising double coupons everyday, they are NOT coupon friendly. They do not accept internet coupons, and recently started rejecting regular manufacture coupons. There have been many times that the coupons they do take did not double, and often items ring up regular price instead of sale price. They are often out of advertised specials, and impose unadvertised limits on sales. The store is old, dirty, and cramped with very little selection and I've only met one employee with a smile. This is the grocery store around the corner for me, and I would tell a friend to skip it and shop at Festival Foods or Hy-Vee.

Pros: They have a great cart that has a place for 2 kids up front, and a car at the bottom

Cons: EVERYTHING ELSE!!! NO COUPONS HERE!!
